Chapter 2: London:

A: Medovsky:

As Nico

George and Nico have arrived at that Medovsky's house in a rich London neighborhood. They are outside the fence. You are Nico again. The gardener is trimming a decorative tree in the garden. The garden gate is locked and nobody answers when you have Nico pressed on the intercom. So click with your mouth on the Gardener to talk to him and use the Medovsky option ..... The "gardener" is quite rude and in fact says that Nico must go away and continues his pruning on the tree . View with your eye that Large Topiary tree that the "gardener" is pruning and then click with your mouth again on the "gardener" and then use the "Topiary" topic to compliment the "gardener" with his work. ...

The "gardener" then tells about his tree and he does that quite philosophical ..... He then wants to hear from Nico what she thinks of his "sculpture" so click on the Thumb Up you get and .... then click on the left bird in the next screen ..... Nico guesses well and the gardener is now willing to continue talking with Nico, so use the Medovsky topic again and ..... Nico tells that she's here to talk to Medovsky about the "La Malediccio" painting and the gardener calls his boss and ...... the "gardener" brings George and Nico in and a conversation with that Medovsky guy follows ... we also learn now  that the "gardener" is called Shears.

You have to choose whether Nico will approach Medovsky in a soft way or the hard way .... choose the soft way, so click the teddy bear and you can talk further. So ask Medovsky further about all the topics you get .... When you ask about Vera Security, Medovsky becomes a little less willing to talk. When you have used all the questions, Medovsky is called away by his guard / gardener because the restorer is at the door and wants to talk to Medovsky.

George

Nico and George are then alone in the library for a moment and you are now George again. View the Cigarette Box on the round table. In the close-up you click on the broken hook of the box .... unfortunately George cannot open the box. Get out of the close-up ..... George then asks if Nico can hear what Medovsky is discussing with his restorer ... Nico reports that the restorer has a folder with him. Zoom in on the low Cabinet that stands against the wall.

George finds a card from restorer Hobbs in the cabinet and he notes the address and puts the card back. There is also a note ...... View the note with your eye ..... George reads "El Serp drawings for you to chel. W.H". View the Egg (Egg), the "Presentation Note", the Book and the medals .... the book is written in Cyrillic but it is of course the "War and Peace" book by Tolstoy and George can only read the year 1869. At the Egg is a Coin .... Grab the Coin and get out of the close-up. 

Zoom in on the Cigarette Box again and then use the coin on the broken hook to open the case and then grab the Key from the lid of the case ...

also click on the cigarettes so that George knows that they are Romanovs cigarettes ... the same brand as the butts in the Vera Security ashtray. Get out of the close-up again. There's a typewriter in the corner near the bookshelves ... when you look at the typewriter, George reports that the keyboard has Cyrillic letters. Use the Key from the cigarette box on the double doors of Medovsky's office and ...... Nico checks if Medovsky is still talking to the guy outside but she reports that the conversation is almost over and that we don't have much time left before Medovsky returns. So dive into the study room .... Nico stays on guard by the window. 

Zoom in on the desk. At the front of the desk you see 9 Cyrillic letters ..... you also saw these Cyrillic letters on the typewriter keys .....

You can press these letters, but that must be done in the correct order. So you have to search for the correct code of numbers and letters, in Cyrillic. Draw over the letter characters on a piece of paper..... Get out of the close-up and go back to the library and view the larger book on the low cabinet again ..... This is the "War and Peace 1869 "book. Look again at the keys of the typewriter ...... The typewriter may be in Cyrillic but also in that language the top row of keys are the numeric keys. compare the top row of keys of the typewriter with your note of the characters on the desk and you know which of the characters are the year 1869.

Go back to the desk in the study and zoom in again and now press the 4 characters that make up the year 1869 ...so press the 1, 8, 6 and 9 characters, and ...

at  the bottom left a secret drawer slide open .....

Click with your hand on the Documents in the secret drawer and .......cut scene

George calls Nico in and together they look at the documents ....... Gardener Shears must have been the thief / murderer ....... Nico then yells that Medovsky is coming back and we are returning to the library ...George has put everything back but Nico gets in a panic a bit because George has forgotten to put the coin back on the low cabinet. Medovsky and Shears then come back. Talk to Medovsky about everything and ......

George and Nico leave and take a taxi to the studio of that restorer Hobbs:

B: Hobb's Studio:

How to get into the Studio

The taxi has delivered George and Nico in another district of London and we end up in the courtyard of the building where the Hobbs studio is.

 George:

The white van from Hobbs is parked in the courtyard. Go knock on the blue door ..... there is no response to George's knock. 

Right next to the door hangs the Letterbox.. Click on the Letterbox ... there is a letter in the letterbox. Take the Letter from the letterbox .

Open the inventory and then right click on the Unopened Letter that George has just stolen from the Hobbs Letterbox ...... George reads the letter aloud ..... the letter comes from a agency and in the letter the agency says that they will no longer send models to Hobbs. George and Nico are convinced that Hobbs is inside but for some reason the guy doesn't open. Let's make some noise ...... Walk back to the delivery van ..... There are a number of click spots on the delivery van .... the rear windows, the right-hand door and the bonnet .... Open the right door of the van ....

You then look into the van. The horn is in the steering wheel. There is a button beneath the steering wheel to unlock the bonnet. 

 A whiskey bottle is located in the left glove compartment.

Click on the Horn ..... no sound follows .... the horn does not work. Take the whiskey bottle. Click the Bonnet Catch button to unlock the bonnet and then exit the close-up. View the whiskey bottle in inventory ... there is whiskey in the bottle. Click on the Van Bonnet with your magnifying glass to open it now ...

George looks under the hood and sees that literally everything is covered with a thick layer of oil. Bottom left and bottom right are the 2 Horns of the bus ... view those 2 horns .... George says that there are 2 loose wires on both horns ... view a Loose Wire ..... the 2 horns are not connected to the battery and the horn button in the steering wheel.

George needs some wires to connect the two horns, so step out of the close-up again. In front of the delivery van there is a green Dumpster ....

 view the Dumpster..... George finds nothing important in it. Examine, with your eye, the huge pile of Junk that is in the lower right corner and .......

George finds a few wires between the rubble but before he can get it he gets a call from inspector Navet who thinks George is still in Paris .... 

Navet demands that George and Nico appear in the gallery the next morning for a reconstruction of the theft / murder.

When the conversation with Navet is over and George has informed Nico then you are look for the grab hand on the pile of junk and then click and....

George find the 2 pieces of thread between the rubble. 

Zoom in again under the hood of the van. The right horn is situated beneath the battery. At the top left you also see wires that go to the steering wheel. George needs 3 pieces of wire to connect both horns with each other and with the battery. George only has 2 pieces of wire. Open the inventory .... George has found 2 green Long Wire among all the rubble ..... Combine the Nail Clipper with 1 of the 2 long Wires to cut that wire into 2 pieces .... 

you now have 1 long wire and 2 short wires. Take the Long Wire from inventory and then click it on the right wire of the left horn (C)....

....or on the left wire of the right horn (D), to connect the two horns together.

Take a short wire from inventory and click it on the left wire of the left horn (B) .......and the left horn is then connected to the wires A.

Click the other short wire on the right wire (E) of the right horn to connect everything to the battery .....

George then informs you that it is done and you will automatically go out of the close-up.

Open the door of the van again and click on the Horn again and ..... 

this time the horn makes a great noise and this attracts the attention of Hobbs, who now appears on the balcony and is "not amused".

Use the question marks in the conversation screen ..... Hobbs won't talk and won't let us in. Hobbs then disappears inside again. In inventory, read the letter that you had George swiped from the letterbox (Modeling Agency Letter). Then open the van door again and click the horn again. Hobbs appears again on the balcony ...... The call options screen opens again .... Now click on the Modeling Agency Letter and ..... George lies that he and Nico have been sent by the modeling agency and Hobbs is now opening the door. So click on the blue door and ..... We end up in:

Studio of Hobbs: 

Hobbs is working on a painting and he thinks that George and Nico are the models he has "ordered". Hobbs wants George to undress because he needs a man for his painting .... George is refusing this for now. Nico does not have to strip but must sit on the rug to serve as a model in painting that Hobbs is trying tom put on the canvas.

Talk to Hobbs about the "La Malediccio" painting, Medovsky, nudity and the painting he is working on. 

When Hobbs stops talking after the Medovsky topic you can click on him again to finish the conversation ... .. it doesn't really matter that much. There are a few bottles on the table .... Look at those bottles with your eye .... they are empty. There is also a whiskey glass on the table ....... if you try to grab that whiskey glass, Hobbs screams that he has not yet drunk the whiskey. The Hobbs Portfolio leans against the table and if you try to grab it Hobbs also screams that you must keep your hands off it

Behind Nico is a folding screen. Walk to the folding screen and ...... George ends up behind the folding screen and there ...... a naked Lady Piermond appears and she comes out .... but the Lady has put on a short dressing gown because it is fairly fresh in the studio. George also appears again ... fully dressed.

Talk with Lady Piermont ... The Lady has it a bit cold and she asks if George can turn on the heating. 

George and the Lady are standing in front of the elevator from the balcony ... the elevator is now upstairs. You can also go to the balcony via the stairs. There is a door on the balcony and the elevator buttons are on the wall at that door. Behind Hobbs is the door to the outside balcony and to the right next to that door is the Thermostat on the wall. There is a stereo system on the table, that stands beneath the balcony. George would love to take a look in the Portfolio of Hobbs, but if you try to do that, Hobbs gets angry and screams that George has to stay away from it. If you climb the stairs to the balcony you will notice that the stairs creak and that Hobbs does not want you to go up ..... Click with your gear on the thermostat .... 

George walks towards the thing and turns the thermostat is higher to turn on the heating .... Hobbs, however, protests and demands that George turns the heating off again, otherwise the rickety wiring and installation will fail ..... Lady Piermond comes to the aid because she threatens to go  away if the heating does not stay on .... Hobbs yields to this threat and George sets the thermostat as high as possible. 

We have to lure Hobbs away from his easel so that we can look into his portfolio. 

Walk to Hobbs and take the whiskey bottle from inventory and click it on the Hobbs whiskey glass that is on the table next to him.

After George has asked Hobbs, he pours Hobbs's glass full of whiskey. Zoom in with your magnifying glass on the stereo system. There is an LP on the turntable ..... a bit of music may not hurt to raise the party mood, so turn the turntable on by pressing the power button and then screw up the volume up all the way via the Volume button.

Get out of the close-up .... Due to the noise of the stereo, Hobbs will not hear the crackling of the stairs. 

So climb up the stairs to the elevator buttons and click on the elevator buttons to send the elevator down ... 

...the sound of the elevator alerts Hobbs who yells that George must come down again, so climb back down the stairs. 

Go talk to Lady Piermond and ask her if she wants to stand on the lift platform ...

The Lady is quite heavy and George hopes that if he lifts the elevator with the obese Lady, a short circuit will occur. Go up the stairs again and click on the elevator buttons again to lift the lift, with the Lady, up again and ...... there is a short circuit and Hobbs then goes to the fuse box on the left of the balcony doors the wall hangs ...... Quickly .... as soon as you can click with your gear on the Portfolio of Hobbs and .....

George walks down the stairs but he is just not fast enough because when George has reached the bottom of the stairs, Hobbs returns to his easel. So this must be done in another way. The lift with Lady Piermond has got stuck halfway. Walk up the stairs again and click on the elevator buttons again to bring the lift all the way up and ... a short circuit occurs again and Hobbs returns to the fuse box .... Quick .... As soon as you can click again with your gears on the Portfolio and ...

.. this time  George is quick enough in reaching the portfolio before Hobbs returns. In the close-up click on the left-hand page to browse to the last pages. On the last right page there is a sketch of the medallion, the Ourobos. Listen to George and then take the Sketch from the folder and ......

Hobbs is not happy that George has viewed his portfolio folder. Use the "Henri" topic...... Hobbs and Henri have been friends for years.

You then have to choose again whether you deal Hobbs with silk gloves or whether you continue to talk to him in the hard way ..... choose the teddy bear again, so the soft approach. Then continue talking to Hobby through the conversation options and listen to what Hobbs has to say about the sketches, La Malediccio, Medovsky and the Symbols .... Hobbs reports that Laine has the origin papers of the La Malediccio painting. George and Nico then say goodbye to Hobbs and  we travel back to Paris:
