Detective Di The Silk Rose Murders Chapter 2

Di is on the walkway in the courtyard of Lam Haifeng's house. Shi Wenyan, the wife of Lam Haifeng, has been murdered.

Walk up to Lieutenant Ma, who's waiting for Di on the walkway. There's a conversation between Di and his Lieutenant

There's a second walkway that leads to a pagoda house but we don't see how to get there but at Di and Ma you see a slot in the balustrade but that slot is empty. When Di is done talking with his lieutenant you walk further up and then you enter the house at the end of the walkway.

Coroner Yao is standing at the dead body of Shi Wenyan and the grieving husband, Lam Haifeng, stand at the lower right corner of the room.

Talk with Lam Haifeng and use all options you get to learn about his past and his murdered wife.

Lam Haifeng tells about General Zhang and about a gathering that will take place the coming night. When you ask about the other walkway then Lam Haifeng gives you a Lever for the footbridge

When you're done talking with Lam Haifeng you go up to the dead body. At the dead body lies a Green Book. Take that Green Book en examine it in inventory

Close the evidence screen and then click with your eye icon on Shi Wenyan dead body and............You will then automatically talk with coroner Yao....Ask all the questions you can ask. Between the two closets lays a Red Rose. Take the Red Rose. Examine both closets. In the right closet is a scroll but Di will not take that scroll now because he doesn't now yet that he needs it. Walk down and go stand and the carpet again. The lower left corner of the carpet is folded (Rug Fold). Click with your hand icon on that Rug Fold to discover a Note under the carpet.

Go outside and walk down the walkway to Lieutenant Ma. Use the Lever, that you got from Lam Haifeng, in the Slot and then pull the Lever with your hand icon and.....

In the right pagoda house is a Weiqi table. Walk over the walkway into the pagoda and then click with your hand icon on the Weigi Table

Weiqi is the Chinese name for Go. A Stone Key sticks in a slot. You, and Di to, doesn't no the first thing about the Weigi game so we need more information about it first. Go out the close-up and go back over the walkways into the house. When you're inside again go to the right closet and click with your hand in the right closet and......

Now Di takes the Scroll out the closet....it's a scroll about the Weigi game.

Examine the scroll in inventory....You'll see 4 possible solutions on the scroll

Leave the house and go back to the Weige Game, in the right pagoda, and go into the close-up of it again. Now first take the Stone Key

The solution to this puzzle is a combination of the Weiqi scroll and the stone key. You must place Black and White marbles on the board. With the black and white marbles you must make a combination of two of the figures that are on the scroll. First look at the Stone Key in inventory.

On the Stone Key you read the solution of this Weigi Puzzle. In black letters you read "ETERNAL" and in white letters you read "LADDER. Now look at the scroll again. On the scroll you see 4 figures that are made up with black and white marbles. The Stone Key tells you that you must make a combination of the "Ladder Breaker" and the "Rule of Eternity" figures on the board

Of the "Ladder Breaker" you must put the White marbles on the board and of the "Rule of Eternity" you must put the Black marbles on the board, to make a combination of those two figures. Click the scroll away and go and put the black and white marbles of those two figures on the board and do so in the right places.....Then put the Stone Key back into the slot.......Like this....

When you have done it correctly, the Stone Key goes deeper into the slot and the Weigi Table sinks into the floor to open up a staircase to a secret room. Go down into the secret room

It's dark in the room so Di makes some light. There's an Invitation in the right bookcase. Take the Invitation from the bookcase

Close the evidence screen and then go back up via the stairs and walk the walkways to the bottom left corner and Exit to the map.

Walk to the right, until Di can't go any further. We see the Flower Boat but we can't reach it

You have also seen a lady sitting on the top right corner of the pier and you've seen a lot of glowing lanterns floating in the water.

Go back and then walk down, left of the bridge, and go down the stone steps to the fisherman, who's fishing in his row boat.

Talk to Xiang Ren, the fisherman in the rowboat and ask him everything. Xiang Ren doesn't want to take Di to the Flower Boat in his rowboat because of the lanterns in the water.

Go up the stone steps again and now go the girls who's sitting on the upper right corner of the pier.

Mao Yi thinks her sister is dead and the lanterns in the water are hers and they are meant to guide her dead sisters soul to the spirit world. Mao Yi gives Di 2 letters from her sister.

The writing on the small letter is a clue about some hidden message in the text of the large letter

The text on the small letter refers to the birthdays of Mao Yii's father and mother, so ask Mao Yi about those birthdays

Mao Yi's father's birthday is the 9th day of the 11th month and her mother's birthday is the 4th day of the 1st month.

Di thinks that the sister isn't dead and he wants to tell this to her to Mao Yi, but he needs to prove this and for that you need the hint letter and the large letter from the sister. The hint letter say Remove 'you' and 'me' and this means removing the first and last paragraph of the big letter and they are "My dearest sister" (is you) and "Mao Wei" (is me). Then there are four paragraphs left.

Now count the words according to the information we have about mother's and father's birthday.
Start with mother's birthday because she's the first name mentioned in the hint letter.
Mother's birthday is the first month and the fourth day.
So look for the first word in the first paragraph = "Not".
The fourth word in the second paragraph = "Dead".
Father's birthday is the eleventh month, ninth day.
The eleventh word in the third paragraph = "Hiding".
And the ninth word in the fourth paragraph = "East"

Talk to Mao Yi and tell the truth about her sister:

Select in the screens the following words: "Not", "Dead", "Hiding", "East".

....and Mao Yi is convinced that her sister still lives but is hiding. Mao Yi is willing to tell this to fisherman Xiang Ren

Go back to Xiang Ren and talk with him again and now he takes Di over to the flower boat.

Di ends up in the main hall of the flower boat, witch is off course a brothel for the rich and famous.

Talk to the wine waiter, who is standing in the bottom right corner. This wine waiter is somewhat nervous because he doesn't wear his own uniform

After talking with the waiter walk to the left and then climb up the stairs to the upper walkway. The first room you'll see is the Wine Room but don't go in there now....

Follow the upper walkway to the right and you'll be at the Dressing Room but don't enter bit either. Follow the walkway further and....

......around the corner Di will overhear a conversation between General Zhang and Madam Ling, about Yan Qigi the favorite concubine of the general. Madam Ling tells the general that he can't fuck with Yuan Qigi tonight because she's not available for the general and this pisses the general off. Madam Ling then leaves to the dining room.

Talk with General Zhang and use all topics and.......During the conversation with General Zhang we hear a scream.....

it's Madam Ling who's screaming from the dining room, so go further right and into the dining room

Talk to Madam Ling. and ask her everything......you'll get to see the slaughtered body of Yan Qigi, so I guess there will be no more fucking for General Zhang this night

Madam Ling tells all about Yan Qigi and her relation ship with General Zhang and you get the 3rd evidence in the evidence screen

When you're done with Madam Ling she leaves and General Zhang will come in. Talk with the General about everything

This talk with the General gives you the 4th evidence in the evidence screen

At Yan Qigi's dead head lies a Red Rose, so take that Red Rose. In the closet / bookcase stand a Glass Bowl.

You can take that glass bowl or you take it later when Di knows that he needs that bowl. Examine the corpse

Di finds a hairpin with blood stains on it. Behind the body is a trail of blood on the floor. Examine that blood trial and......Di conclude that it is the blood of the killer and that Yan Qigi has stabbed her killer with the hairpin. Go out onto the balcony and notice the Green Lantern.

Go back and leave the dining room and follow the upper walkway all the way to the left, to the doors of the wine room.....

.....on your way you'll see a short intermezzo with Madam Ling who is addressing her guest.

Enter the Wine Room. At the windows stand a basket and at the open window is a blood stain on the floor. A green cloth is sticking in the basket.

Click with the hand icon on the barrel and......Di has found the uniform of the wine waiter and this is evidence 5 in the evidence screen

Examine the blood stain on the floor.....the killer, witch was the wine waiter, has escaped through the window, but he's wounded

Leave this room and follow the upper walkway to the right again, to the doors of the Dressing Room and now enter this room

Walk to the middle of the room. On the right table is a make-up box, bit it's locked

Use the key, that Di has found in the waiter's uniform, on the make-up box and.....Di finds and takes a rolled-up paper, examine this paper in inventory

We can't read what's been written on the paper....... the letters are too small. Di must somehow enlarge the text.

In the bottom right corner stand a bowl filled with water. If you have taken the glass bowl from the closet / bookcase in the dining room then you can use it here on the water bowl. But I didn't take the glass bowl yet so I now must go back to the dining room to take that glass bowl

Then I go back to the dressing room to use the glass bowl with the bowl of water to fill the glass bowl with water

Combine in inventory the Rolled-up Paper with the Glass Bowl, that you have filled with water and then examine the rolled-up paper again and.....now we can read the text

Di must find a green lantern and we have seen one on the balcony of the dining room, so go back there now and click with the hand icon on the green lantern

Close the evidence screen and.......Oh.....there's something wrong.......Di gets drugged and has a dream in witch we see the deer

Lieutenant Ma wakes Di up and Di goes to the palace to reconstruct the case to the Empress

During Di's reconstruction you must again give 3 times the right answer and the first time this is "All of the Above"

Then, in the dining room of the flower boat, you say "She had no loved ones"

Di then warns the Empress that she's in danger and that he wants to investigate the case further. But the Empress takes Di of the case and Di has no other choice then to accept this
