Chapter 4:Brimcliff Industrial Centre part 2:
Ore Tramming and Mill Management:
You are still at the Arsenic House and you have repaired the film projector here. The round axis of the grinder now rotates for the 2 ovens. We now go back to
"Ore Tramming", so go down the stairs to the lower corridor and then follow the route, along the canal with the 2 broken bridges, to Ore Tramming. Back in the hall of Ore Tramming you immediately turn left again into the corridor.
You have arrived at the Loading Station of the mine carts. The mine carts are emptied / filled here. There is a Film Projector on the floor. There are 6 Loading
Stations, 3 on each side of the catwalk. Each loading station has a funnel and there is a Gripper hanging from the ceiling with which the stuff from the mine carts can be placed in the funnels. Look, when you stand at the film projector, to the right .....
Before the stairs to the catwalk you see a niche with a red wall .... on the red wall hangs a blackboard.
Go to the blackboard ..... there is also a lot of coal in the niche and in front of the coal pile is a "Reminder" note
that you can read. On the blackboard
you can read the names of 3 foremen and where they were working in the mine. You also read that Wagon 86 needs new wheels and that the arsenic overproduction has been sent to the Arsenic House.
Walk back to the film projector and then walk under the catwalk to the other side and then immediately turn left ...... you see the beginning of a mine cart tunnel
and there is a mine cart. At the mine cart hangs red Ribbon 3. Walk to the red ribbon and click on it to make it disappear to your Case.
Turn around to the alcove with the pipes. In the alcove hangs a large white plate ..... study what is on the white plate .....
On the board the "Knocker Code of Signals" for the mine are explained .... I have no idea at this moment if this is important but click on the board to save it in your case.
Walk back to the film projector and then climb up the stairs to the catwalk and take a look around .....
Walk to the other side of the catwalk and
then continue up the right stairs and walk to that big turbine.
The 5 levers and the dial of the "Pressure Control Terminal" are hanging on the wall and on the right is the control console with which the Gripper must be
operated to empty or fill the mine carts. However, there is no power but we are going to do something about it ..... In the office of "Ore Tramming" you have seen the settings of these 5 levers in Chapter 3, on the notice board .... If you clicked on
them then you could go and read it in your Case, or perhaps you would have written it down then. So put the 5 levers in their correct position, 200, 200, 100, 300, 300 and then click on the rotary wheel and ..........
You hear Jean and then Phyllis explaining things about what happened in this department before. The console now has power .... go and view that console for a
moment ..... we can't do anything with it yet because there is no mine cart for the Gripper to empty / fill .... We can't get here further for this moment... so let's start browsing now .... we're going to the Tool Shed.
B: Tool Shed:
Walk up the green slope and then climb up the stairs and .....
In the Tool Shed you will find a letter on the low cupboard / table that you can read. If you then turn around you see a staircase. On the column of the staircase
hangs a "Reminder" that you can also read. Then step out through the gate doors and .... You have arrived at your 4th Red Ribbon .... Click on the red ribbon to send it to your Case.
Enter the Tool Shed again and now climb up the stairs .....
however, make a note of the position
of the "Mill Management" levers yourself, because we will go there shortly.
If you step outside to the left you will notice that the outside staircase is blocked .... it is a "Dead End". So go back inside and then, right next to the
4 diagrams, enter the long shaft. You hear Jean and then Phyllis explaining that you have landed in the Victory Shaft ... Phyllis tells what happened here. At the back of the shaft is a button panel ..... walk across the catwalk to that button
panel and take a look .....
You can't do anything with this panel yet, so turn around and walk back and descend the stairs to the ground floor of the Tool Shed. Go out again through the gate
doors ... you will be back at the place where the red ribbon 4 was hanging. You are outside at the channel. We are now going for a long walk, to red ribbon 5 and then to Mill Management.
On the way to Mill Management
Turn right and ....... you look into the building where Ribbon 5 hangs on the balcony
Walk up the steps and then continue to the balcony, which looks out over the large courtyard where the Tool Shed is.
On the chest is an "A Gift" note that you can read. Let the Red Ribbon 5 disappear to your Case.
... you are then again above the stairs that goes down to the fence of Pinwheel Village. Turn left and climb the rear catwalk ....
Follow the catwalk ..... you go up another staircase and you reach a cart with a few boxes on it. Further on you see the entrance of "Mill Management".
Turn around ...... right next to the stairs you can read the "Painters Journal 7", which is on the chest next to the barrel.
When you have read the "Painters Journal 7", turn back and walk further and go inside .... you are now in:
In the hall of Mill Management you will find the large elevator that you have to go up to the executive office, but there is no electricity so the elevator does not
work. The hall is also full of turbines. When you enter, turn right and ..... next to the entrance, the 5 levers and the dial of the "Pressure Control Terminal" are hanging on the wall ..... Walk to the levers but stay off .
Beyond the 5 levers you will see a yellow button on the wall .... Continue to the yellow button ..... At the yellow button you look into a short corridor and in the
corridor is Turbine A. On the wall is a Hook and that hook is attached to a cable and that cable is again attached to a hoist, which is suspended from the ceiling ..... The valve of Turbine A is now closed ..... If you now press the yellow button then release
the yellow hook / rope and then hit Turbine A .... that is not the intention .....
Walk to Turbine A and slide the door open .... In Turbine A you also see a yellow Hook ..... the Rope Hook must grab onto the hook in Turbine A because Turbine A
serves as a counterbalance to the lift. So walk back to the yellow button and press it again and .... The yellow rope hook then hooks onto the hook of Turbine A.
in the window hangs the Red
Ribbon 6
Go and send Ribbon 6 to your Case and then read the announcements on the notice board. Before opening the wooden doors, take a look to the right.
You then see the stairs that lead up to the room where the light is burning .... you also see Turbine B standing by the stairs. Turbine B is the 2nd counterweight for
the lift ....
Here too a hoist is hanging above the stairs and the rope hook of that hoist sticks under the stair fence on the wall. Open the double
wooden doors and then enter the
conference room. Walk to the other side of the table and then read the letter and the newspaper and also view the lever diagram on the table ......
Through the corner window here you look out over the courtyard of the Arsenic House and the C4 chimney. Read the notices on the notice board, especially the
"Barograph Operation" user's guide and "Order Shipment Confirmation". On the "Order Shipment Confirmation" you can read that Arsenic has been shipped to New Jersey.
...... The yellow rope hook of the hoist then hooks into Turbine
B.
The door above does not open so climb back down and walk back to the exit / entrance of the hall because now it is time to put those 5 levers in the right position.
So walk back to the 5 levers and click them in the right position. On the top floor of the Tool Shed you can read what those positions are. Then click on the
rotary wheel and .....
The manometer goes on position 20, you hear Jean and ....... walk back to the elevator and ..... the elevator doors now open.
But first look behind the lift ..... Behind the lift is Chimney C3 ... remember that this chimney is here
Back to the front of the elevator and now enter the elevator and pull the elevator lever down and the elevator takes you up and in the meantime you hear Jean.
Get out of the elevator when the elevator has stopped and the elevator doors have opened again. You are in the:
Mill Management Office:
On the left desk is a book that you can grab and store in your Case ..... the desks each have a drawer but there is nothing to be found in it. Walk on and ... you
will see the stairs that lead up to the office of the management. There are 2 notice boards on the back wall. Read the announcements on those 2 notice boards. On the right notice board you will find the instructions for the Barograph.
On the other side of the room is a Film Projector on the floor and the
"Barograph" is on a table.
To fix the movie projector here, you must enter on the "Arsenic Shipment" board where an Arsenic shipment was shipped to in May and you must enter the day
of the shipment. In the meeting room you have read on the "Order Shipment Confirmation" form that Arsenic has been shipped to New Jersey .... now you must determine the day and we will do that with the help of the Barograph. But first you can read the
"Managers Note", which is on the big table.
Note: The safe under the "Arsenic Shipment" board contains a "Knocker figure" ...... The safe lacks a numerical ring and code for this safe has
not been found anywhere. Perhaps we can still find a ring and the code somewhere. As far as I know now, there are 6 of those "Knocker" characters in the game .... if you find them all you have earned the "Knocker Achievement".
Walk to the Barograph. The Barograph is under a glass container. Click on the glass container to click it up. There is a drawer in the table. Open the
drawer and then
take the graph paper out. Click the Graph Paper to your pocket and then click on the Container of the Barograph to put the graph paper on the container..... Then click on the yellow Button
and ....
Wait until the Barograph is done with this and then pick up the container .....
On the paper you see the name of the days and the date, you also see the red graph line. Store the bus in your pocket and walk back to the "Arsenic
Shipment" board in the bookcase. Press your E-key to take the Barograph Container out of your pocket .On the Barograph's instructions you also read that "Clear sky come with high pressure"
........
that is the day why the air pressure was highest and there was therefore a Clear Sky .....
.... that day turns out to be Monday May 16 ...... MON 16
Put the container back in your pocket .... Then type the following on the black board ...
On the line "To ............. Shipped" you type "New Jersey" and in the 2 date boxes enter "MON" and
"16" and .....
Take the "Knocker figure" from the safe and listen to part 3
of the "Knocker story" ...
Go and store this "Knocker" in your Case and then return here. We are ready here in Mill Management. On the sign above the stairs see
now that the lights of the Arsenic House and of Mill Management are on. Descend the stairs and go back into the elevator and click the elevator lever up .....
