Grace Nakimura

Chapter 2 starts with an intro movie: We are in New Orleans and in the St. George Bookshop where Grace is talking to her mother on the phone

Business is going well for the St. George Bookshop because Gabe's book "The Voodoo Murders" is a real bestseller. However ..... via a somewhat awkward customer we get the impression that Gracie has had it with Mr. Gabriël Knight. Grace handles the business with the client professionally and then she finds the letter from Gabe, which Gabe wrote earlier in Chapter 1 and post it ....

Gracie reads the letter and ....... well. ... let's not deny it ..... when reading the name of Gabe's housekeeper, Gerde, our lovely Japanese side kick almost throws up ..... Grace seems a bit  jealous. Grace decides to go help Gabe with his new case so she books a flight to Germany. After a long and tiresome journey, Grace arrives at Schloss Ritter. It is already evening when Gracie knocks on the gate of the Ritter castle and Gerde opens.

Our little Japanese girl isn't very polite towards  the poor, but o so seductive, Gerde.

Gerde report that Gabe is not at home but she invites Grace to spend the night in the castle and ... Gracie does not have much choice.

A: Castle Ritter:

It is the following  morning. Grace has only just dressed up when a mechanic rushes into the bedroom. The mechanic wants to repair the stove and Gracie has no objections

You now have control over Grace. Unlike the arrogant Gabe, Gracie does have some basic knowledge of the German language. Try it out..... Just click on the mechanic, who is now kneeling in front of the fireplace. Grace asks the man, in German, whether he needs her help. But the good man does not need Gracie's help.

In the corner, near the window, stand a closet. Click on the closet. Grace opens the closet. The closet is empty. Click with your sword cursor on the back wall of the closet .... well .... Gracie finds it a nice closet but otherwise nothing happens. Exit out the closet. Grace is standing in front of the bed. Now click the Exit on the bed and ....... Grace turns around and you see a door in the wall, left of the bed.  There are also 2 portraits and a Lion Head made of plaster, on the wall.

Click on both portraits and on the Lion's Head, to hear Grace's comments. Then click on the metal door and ...... Well ... this door is locked and Grace doesn't have the key. If you have played "Gabriel Knight 1 Sins of the Fathers" then you know that this door is the door of  the "Schattenjäger Library" Walk down a screen and then click EXIT on the room door to leave the bedroom. Grace goes downstairs to have a meeting with Gerde, who sits behind her desk.

Talk to Gerde and do not skip any conversation option. Keep talking until there is nothing to talk anymore.

Grace still behaves very hostile to Gerde, but Gerde remains fairly cool, although from time to time the sparks fly around between the to girls. Grace can whine and whine, but Gerde does not want to say anything about the case that Gabe is working on. And Gerde refuse to give the key of the library door to Grace.. The "conversation" ends automatically when you have used all options

Click EXIT twice on the front door and .... Grace puts on her coat and leaves the castle and she is then outside at Gabe's car. Click on the car and ....

Grace does not have the car keys, so she can not leave by car. Click EXIT, on the forest, to the left of the castle and .........

Grace  walks, via the forest path. to the village of Rittersberg.

B: Rittersberg village:

After a fierce walk Grace has reached the village square of Rittersberg. We see the fountain and the church. Walk to the right. The building behind the fountain is the town hall. The post office and the local pub,  Gasthoff Goldener Löwe,  are housed in the right-hand building. Enter the Gasthoff.

Gasthoff Goldener Löwe:

The pub owner Hubert, who is the father-in-law of Huber, stands behind the counter and at the window sits one of the regular guest at the table.

Talk to Hubert, who speaks and understand English very well. Use all the options that you get ..... skip nothing.\

Like Gerde, Hubert does not want to say anything about the case that Gabriel is currently working on. Hubert says that Grace has to read everything about Werewolves in Wolfgang's "Schattenjäger" archive. According to Hubert, a Werewolf was put to death here in Rittersberg, in the 18th century. Grace will say goodbye, if you have used all the conversation topics.

There are 2 portrait paintings on the walls that you have to look at. To the left of Hubert is the portrait of a man in uniform. Grace does not know who this is. The portrait on the right of Hubert shows a young man. Grace does not know who it is. There is a kind of diploma underneath this portrait. View the two portraits and also that "diploma".

Leave the Gasthoff. Back outside you walk back to the left, to the church.

 Church:

Click on the right church door. Grace will enter the close-up of the church door. Read the notice about the opening hours of the church, hanging left of the door. Then click EXIT on the church door and ..... Grace enters the church. The priest is present. Try to talk to the priest but the good man don't understands and speak English. In the back of the church hall you can see the altar and the large church organ.

Click EXIT on the church organ and ..... Grace continues through the room and you see the pulpit Click EXIT on the pulpit and ..... Grace ends up in the Crypt.

There are several stone coffins in the crypt. Click on the front  coffin of the left-hand row of coffins.....That is the coffin that Gracie now stands for. You zoom in on that coffin. There is a sword on the coffin. Click on the sword and ..... Grace tells you that this is the sword and the coffin of Jurgen Ritter. Jurgen Ritter was the "Schattenjäger" from Rittersberg in the 15th Century. Step out of the close-up and then click twice on the middle coffin, in the left row. This is the coffin of Uncle Wolfgang Ritter and someone has put a Silver Heart on the coffin. Click on the Heart to hear Grace's comments.

Get out of the close-up and go back to the church hall and then walk to the left and then double click the EXIT, at the bottom of your screen to leave the church. Outside again you walk to the right of the fountain. The building behind the fountain is the town hall. The town hall has 2 large arched doors and a small arch door. Click with your sword on the right big arch door and ..... Grace walks to the doors and you are in the close-up. The big door is the front door and the small door, above the stone steps, is the door to the prison. Click twice with your sword on the big door and ....... Grace knocks on the door and ...... the Mayor opens up the counter.

To  Grace's relief the friendly and bearded Mayor speaks perfect English so ask the man everything that you can...Grace  will automatically says her goodbyes again. Grace asks for the report of the "Werewolf" trail, which Hubert has told her about. However..... The mayor needs the exact date because otherwise he can not find that report in the Municipal Archive.  So Grace needs the exact date of that Werewolf Trail and perhaps it can be found in the Schattenjäger Archive of the castle. So click the EXIT, in the alley between the church and the town hall to return at

 C: Castle Ritter

Enter the castle again, by clicking on the front door with EXIT. In the hall you click EXIT on the stairs to return to the bedroom. The mechanic, who was busy with the fireplace, has gone now. Click with your sword in the fireplace. In the close-up you see that the mechanic has left his toolbox in front of the fireplace..

Above the toolbox you see a small round hole in the wall of the fireplace. Take a closer look at that hole.

If you click on the hole again in the close-up, Grace tries to put her finger in the hole.

Exit to look into the toolbox. Well .... it is a solid tool box that is full of all kinds of tools including a nice screwdriver. Take the screwdriver from the tool box and then click the EXIT.

Grace stands in front of the bed again. Click again in the fireplace to get back into its close-up. Then click on the hole in the wall again to see the hole in close-up again.

Open the inventory and take out the screwdriver and then click with the screwdriver on the hole and ....... Grace puts the screwdriver in the hole and .....

........we hear "Click" and that sound comes from the wardrobe closet. Grace automatically has gone out of the close-up again.

So open the wardrobe closet again and see ...... a secret door has now been opened in the back wall of the closet

Click EXIT in the closet and ...... Grace walks through the secret closet door and ends up in a secret corridor.

Behind Grace the corridor goes down as a staircase. Left is the bedroom and on the right is the secret door to the bedroom of Gerde. Click the right EXIT and ..... Grace ends up in the bedroom of Gerde. Gracie is rather cynical when she enters Gerde's room through the closet because she has her suspicions about Gabe and Gerde. In front of the right window is a table with a photo on it. Look at that photo.

It is a photo of Wolfgang Ritter. EXIT and open the wardrobe. In Gerde's closet are  a few dresses and ..... there is also a key hanging on the ceiling of the closet.

Click on the dresses to hear Grace make some comments and then grab the Key.......It  is the key of the library door.

Open the closet again and then click EXIT in the closet to return to the secret corridor. Back in the secret corridor you click the EXIT in the dark staircase and ....

... Grace descends the stairs and lands outside, on one of sides of the castle.  A rose bush grows on the right. Look at the red roses in the rose bush to hear Grace's comments.

Exit to the left and ..... you will see the facades of the castle. Click with your sword to hear Grace's comments. Exit back to the right ...... if you have not done it yet, you can still click on the red roses in the rose bush....... you must do this. Then go back inside to climb the secret stairs. Back up again you go back to Gabe's / Grace's bedroom via the left EXIT. Walk down in the bedroom, so you can see the door of the library again.

Take the Key, which you found in Gerde's closet, from inventory and click on the door and ...... Grace goes into the:

Library:

A whole wall is covered by a huge bookcase and there is also a beautiful antique writing desk. The enormous bookcase is divided into 3 parts. The left part of the bookcase have biographies, but Grace does not have any interest in them at this moment. Click with your sword in the middle part of the bookcase and ..... Gracie picks up a book about Werewolves from that part of the bookcase

In the book Grace  finds a Letter and then ..... Gerde comes in .... Look at the scene between Gerde and Grace...it's not nice...

Gerde leaves the room in tears. When Grace is alone again, click on the right part of the bookcase and ..... From the right part, Grace takes the Viktor Ritter Journal.

Open the inventory and then read the 2 books and also the letter that Grace has found in the Werewolf Book.

Select a book so that the book ends up in the inventory screen and then click on the magnifying glass to open the book in the close-up screen

The Diary of Viktor Ritter has 4 pages that you can read. Click with your sword on the pages so that Grace reads the story aloud.

Viktor Ritter describes in his diary a meeting with the Werewolf about which Hubert has Grace told about.

Then do the same with the Werewolf Book and the letter that Grace has found in this book.

Grace reads Chapter 3 in the Werewolf book aloud, when you click on the pages or click on the separate paragraphs.

The Letter, which Grace found in the Werewolf Book, is from Christian Ritter and is addressed to King Ludwig II of Bavarian and is dated 4 March 1864.

Open the letter and let Grace read it aloud.

Schattenjäger Christian Ritter warns the King that one of Ludwig's close associates is a Werewolf, named the Black Wolf. Apparently the letter was never posted.

Grace needs more info about Ludwig. In inventory Grace has the calling card of Dr. Bertram Barclay from the Yale University. Zoom in on the writing desk. Grace takes a seat behind the desk. On the desk stands an antique typewriter and an antique telephone. Take Barclay Business Card from inventory and click on the phone with it  and .....

Grace calls that Professor Barclay, in the U.S.A, out of his bed from and she asks him what he knows about King Ludwig ......

The only thing that Barclay knows of that Ludwig is that the man was crazy. However, Barclay has an acquaintance who knows more about Ludwig. That acquaintance is connected to the University of Berlin, but Barclay does not know the name and address right now. Barclay promises that he will call Grace back

EXIT out the desk close-up and leave the library and then leave the bedroom. Down in the hall you click twice again on the front door, to leave the castle and then walk back to the village via the forest path:

D: Rittersberg village

Walk to the right of the fountain again and then click 3 times on the right arch door of the Town Hall. The friendly Mayor reappears in the counter.

Ask the mayor about  the "Trial Records" first and then continue with all other questions and....

...... eventually Grace asks if she can see the dungeon. The mayor then takes Grace into the cell, under the town hall and if you regain control over Grace then she is alone in jail.

Click on the cell window and ..... Grace looks through the window and sees the church.

Click on the church and ...... Grace realize that she read in the Diary of Viktor Ritter that the werewolf has confessed to the priest. Click on the wooden frame of the window and ..... Grace sees scratches in the wood and she thinks that these are scratches of claws. Exit from the window and walk down a screen. You now see the bed. Click on the bed. Grace examines the bed, were the werewolf has slept on.

Walk back down and then leave the cell and go talk to the mayor again by clicking on the City Hall door 3 times again.  Now ask the mayor about  to the "Church Records". The mayor then gives Grace a note that she has to give to the priest in the church to get the "Church Records" of the church. So go to church and go back inside. Take the note from the mayor from inventory and give it to the priest and .... the good man will get the "Church Records" and give them to Grace. Go back to the mayor and say that you have the "Church File" and .....

Grace gives the file to the mayor who then takes a letter out from the file. The letter is in English and it has a Wolf seal.

The mayor translates the last confession of Baron von Rollich, the werewolf who was captured by Viktor Ritter. You can also read this, in short version, in Gracie's notebook.

Once you have control over Grace again, you enter the Gasthoff again.

Talk to Hubert again and ask him now about "Ludwig II" and keep doing that until there is nothing left to ask. Go back to the castle and, through the bedroom, to the library

E: Castle Ritter:

Library:

Back in the library you click again in the left part of the large bookcase and ..... Grace finds a biography about King Ludwig in the left part but it is in German so she does not take the book. Click again in the right part of the bookcase and ...... Now Grace takes the Christian Ritter Journal out. Read this diary in inventory,

Grace reads the 2 pages aloud when you click on both pages. Grace's day is almost over, but she wants to write a letter to Gabe. So take a seat at the desk again and click on the typewriter and ...If you have done everything that Grace must have done in this chapter, she will now type a letter for Gabe.

If Gracie does not want to write a letter for Gabe now, then you have forgotten to do something that you should have done. Then go read through this chapter again to see where you have forgotten something. Don't ask me what you have forgotten, because you can read everything in this chapter, and I'm not about to do the reading for you

When Grace has finished typing her letter, she will do her research and the letter in an envelope and now she have to post this envelope to end this chapter. But Grace does not know where to send the envelope to. Leave the library and the bedroom. Downstairs in the hall Gerde is sitting behind her desk again. Do not talk to Gerde but grab the Envelope from inventory and click on Gerde with it  and ................

The tension between the 2 girls is almost tangible but Gerde does tell Grace that she should send her envelope to Gabe's lawyer in Munich. Grace writes down  the address on the envelope

F: Rittersberg village:

Leave the castle again and return to Rittersberg. Walk to the right of the fountain and then click on the door of the post office, on the left of the Gasthoff.

Click in the counter to get the close-up.

Click on the Bell to call the post woman. Then take the large envelope for Gabe out of inventory and give it to the post woman and.......The post woman weighs the package and she then tells how much Grace has to pay for the shipment. Open the Inventory and take out the wallet of Grace and click with it on the post woman to pay and .......

The END MOVIE of this chapter will start .....

In hostile silence Grace and Gerde spent the evening together, at Gerde's desk, when the door bell rings.

Curious as to who will call this late in the evening, the girls open the front door and ..... 2, rather idiotic, American Tourists are at the door.

These are Mrs. Mabel Smith and her son and they are ........ Demon Hunters  and ....... they want to meet the "Schattenjäger". Grace and Gerde do not invite them in, so the Smiths will spent  the night at Hubert's Gasthoff  in the village, but first Mabel performs a little play with Grace.

The Smiths will play an important role in the further course of the game, but now the game continues with:
