Chapter 7: Desert Cleft revisited end Ending the Game

Relto:

You are back in Relto after you just finished the Eder Kemo / Eder Gira Age and have been in the Bahro Cave for the 4th time. Here in your garden in Relto are now all 4 Totem poles on the 4 pillars. Let me first explain what needs to be done:

Think back to what Yeesha told you in the Bahro Cave, she said: "You have to bring back what you have taken away"

So you have to bring the 4 Totem Poles back to the Bahro Cave. In order to accomplish this, you now have to go back to each of the 4 Ages to end up in the Bahro Cave in every Age through the "Journey Door". In the Bahro Cave you repeatedly press the "Hand on the Wall" and the Totem Pole of the Age in question appears again in the Bahro Cave.

If you have followed the walkthrough precisely so far, then in every Age you have activated the "Journey Cloth", which is closest to the "Journey Door" of the Age. So the "Journey Cloth" in each of the Linking Books will now take you back to the places closest to the "Journey Door" of the Age.

The Gahreesen Linking Book will take you back to the Rock Island between the two Revolving Buildings.
The Teledahn Linking Book will brings you back to the Upper Dome Grotto.
The Kadish Tolesa Linking Book will brings you back in to the Vault.
The Eder Gira Linking Book takes you back to the 1st garden at the big rock.

We shall  start. Enter your house and go to the bookcase. Let's just book the list from left to right. So pull the Gahreesen Linking Book, which is in Slot 2, out of your bookcase. Scroll through the book to the page with the "Journey Cloth" , click on the "Journey Cloth " and ..... you will return to:

A: Gahreesen:

You arrive back here on top of the rock island. Turn around and walk to the edge, to the left of the raised edge. So you have to jump back down to the rock pillar again. If you do not know how to do that, you can read it in the Gahreesen Walkthrough. If the jump has been successful, you go again stand on the right spot on the rock and jump down to the "Journey Door".

If this jump is successful again, then you walk through and open the "Journey Door" and walk into the pitch dark until you hear the Linking Sound.

You end up, for the 5th time, in the:

Bahro Cave:

The cave is now lit orange and you are on the Gahreesen "balcony". In the floor you see a "burned" symbol. Zoom in on this symbol.

It is the Gahreesen Symbol that you see on the floor. You have to know it soon, so make a drawing of it and mention in your drawing that this is the Gahreesen Symbol. 

Then click on the "Hand in the Wall" and ........ the Gahreesen Totem Pole reappears on its place here in the cave. Jump into the DEEP  to return to:

NB: the symbols on the floor are different every game. In total there are 7 different symbols for each Age. It is always 1 of the 7 symbols that you have seen on the Holo machine in Yeesha's front room in the desert Cleft. So it is very likely that you get different symbols on the floor in your game than I did ...

Relto:

You end up in the pillar garden again. Wait a second. After a few seconds you will see the contours of a Cleft appear between the 4 pillars. 

Enter your home and pull the Teledahn Linking book out of the bookcase (slot 3)  and click on the "Journey Cloth" to go back to:

B: Teledahn:

You arrive here in the Upper Dome Grotto. Go through the doorway and then down the stone stairs and then enter the Lower Dome Grotto through the door.

Go climb up the metal staircase again and then go through the door and walk through the tunnel and then right to the "Journey Door".

Open the "Journey Door" and walk into the pitch dark again. You appear for the 6th time in the:

Bahro Cave:

You can see that the Gahreesen Balcony and the Teledahn Balcony are now stuck together again and are now forming a semi-circle. Zoom in on the Teledahn Symbol that is burned in the floor and make a drawing of it and state that this is the Teledahn Symbol. Then press the "Hand in the Wall" again and your Teledahn Totem Pole reappears.

Jump into the DEEP  to return to:

Relto:

You see the contours of the Cleft becoming slightly wider. 

Dive into your house and pull the Kadish Tolesa Linking Book out of slot 4 of your bookcase and click on the "Journey Cloth " to link to:

C: Kadish Tolesa

You arrive in the Vault on top of the stack of crates. Work your way down to the floor and then go up and down the stairs.

Follow the path and stairs down to the Platform where the Control Panel is located and walk to the edge. Find that long tube that goes from this platform to the "Journey Door". Make sure you get back on top of this tube and walk over to the other side and jump down to the "Journey Door".

Open the "Journey Door" and walk into the Pitcher Dark again until you hear the Linking Sound and you appear for the 7th time in the: 

Bahro Cave: 

The 3 balconies now form a continuous three-quarters Circle. 

Draw down the Kadish Tolesa Symbol that you see in the floor and state that this is the Kadish Tolesa Symbol. 

Press the "Hand in the Wall" to get the Kadish Tolesa Totem Pole here.

Then jump back into the DEEP and you'll end up again in: 

Relto: 

The contours of the Cleft will become a little clearer again. 

Enter your house and pull the Eder Gira Linking Book, which is the GREEN book in slot 6, from your Bookcase and click on the "Journey Cloth" and you end up in: 

D: Eder Gira: 

You arrive in garden 1 at the big stone. Follow the stone path to the first junction, just before the tunnel, and then go to the right to the "Journey Door". 

Open the "Journey Door" and enter the Pitcher Dark again and you'll end up, for the  last time, in the: 

Bahro Cave: 

Well, the CIRCLE is now complete. The 4 balconies now form a WHOLE CIRCLE. Draw down the Eder Kemo / Eder Gira symbol, which you can see in the floor, and state that this is the Eder Kemo / Eder Gira symbol. Press the "Hand in the Wall" to bring your last Totem Pole back to the cave and ..........

 ........ then re-dive into the DEEP to go back to Relto once again : 

Relto: 

O ....... the Cleft  is now real. Well, what are you waiting for? ......... 

Jump into the  Cleft and .............

.......... you will return to the ........ 

Desert:

You land flat on your face in the desert sand. You automatically stand up again. You have landed here between the large Wahrk Skeleton and the remains of the large Riven Telescope. Turn around so that you can see the remains of that telescope and then run towards it and then continue to the Cleft

Cleft in the Desert Revisited: 

Go back to the wooden jetty and descend into the Cleft  via the ladder and the stone staircase. 

You have to go to the other side of the Cleft  and then to the front room of Yeesha. But you have closed the door of Yeesha's front room in chapter 1, remember ?. So go over the bridge, next to the stone staircase, to the other side. You have to jump over the gap in the bridge. Then enter the side room and then go, via the stairs and the connecting door, into the front room. 

In the front room you go to the Holographic Projector. Zoom in on the Wooden Circle with the Blue Button. 

Well, you did this before. But now you have to set the 4 Age symbols which you saw on the floor of the Bahro Cave, on this Circle and that you hopefully have made a drawing off. Take those 4 drawings now at hand.......Not only are the 4 Age Symbols different  each game, but also the order in which you have to put them on the round disc is always different. You will have to try out, by way off "Trail and Error", to find the correct sequence for you. When you have positioned the for you right symbols around the blue button and then pressed the Blue Button then ....... Holographic Yeesha appears again.

 If the your Symbols Code was correct then Yeesha also presses the blue button and she starts to speaking English and you hear her say: "A New Ending Has Been Written." And then Yeesha STAYS here too and she starts telling you a whole story. If your order in which you have set the 4 symbols is NOT CORRECT then Yeesha will appear but then she speaks in a incomprehensible language and then she will DISAPPEAR after a few seconds. I can only give you the solution for this puzzle like it was in my game this time. Again .... it is quite possible that you have seen other symbols in the Bahro Cave and that the order for you is different. Anyway ... this is how it was in my game this time: 

After I pressed the Blue Button Yeesha appears and she says: "A New Ending Has Been Written." 

Follow Yeesha with your eyes. She tells you  a whole story and she points you to the machine that is right next to the outer door. She also draws a few symbols in the air. Then Yeesha go stand before the Holo machine and she continues. Suddenly Yeesha conjures up a holographic Linking Book and she invites you to click on it. 

Click on the Book that Yeesha holds in her hands and ..... 

You link to ....... the Cleft  In the Desert........BUT.... You were already there, I hear you say. Yes ...... But now you are here in the Present. You are still in Yeesha's front room and ...... Yeesha comes in through the front door. This does not seem to me a Holographic Yeesha. You can not move now. Listen to Yeesha again.  While Yeesha is talking, it is raining and it storms. Yeesha now tells you about the "FINAL GIFT" and that  final gift is.......RAIN....

Yeesha disappears and she closes the door. You will now regain control over your Avatar. 

Walk to that machine, next to the door, where you see the little green light flashing. Click on this green light and ...

..... Your Last Relto Page appears. Click on the Relto Page.

 On this Relto Page you can see the House in Relto in the RAIN. Click on the drawing to also paste this page into your Relto Book. From now on it is raining in Relto and here in the Cleft. It is the intention that your Tree will grow here in the Desert Cleft. But that takes time. Go to the front door and open it by clicking on the blue button. Walk out and jump down to the bottom of the Cleft and climb back up via the hanging bridge. 

Go up the stone stairs and then up the ladder and out the Cleft and ....... 

We see the Bahro appear on the volcano. The Bahro then disappear into the volcano but ..... 

1 Bahro stays for a moment and stretches out in his full glory to give you a final greeting ....... 

The URU BOOK now appears in your screen and you hears the Music of Peter Gabriël again. Open the URU book and browse through the pages and enjoy the song composed by Peter Gabriël especially for this game. You can read the credits in the URU book. Click next to the book to make it disappear.  You are back in the desert. Look at the beginning of the Cleft ...... the Tree  now projects a bit out of  the Cleft . Open your Relto Book and link back to Relto. 

Relto

Enter your house again and go to the left bookcase. A new book has been placed in your bookcase. 

In Slot 1 is now the Desert Cleft Book. Open that book. On the left page is the photo of the Rain Desert and on the Right Page the photo of the Sun Desert. 

You can now link back to both deserts. If you want to see the whole END again and hear Yeesha's final story again, click on the Sun Desert photo to return to the sun-drenched desert. Go to the Cleft  and descend into it. Go to the front room of Yeesha and click again on the Blue Button of the Holo machine. You do not have to repeat the symbols now. Yeesha reappears and you can now experience the end all over again.  If you want  go back to the Rain Desert, you will return to Yeesha's front room. However, there is nothing more to do. 

"Loose ends" 

There are still a few "loose ends" left. For example, in one of the two DRC books there is a complete black Linking Photo. I have not found out where this photo links to. You can not click on it either. In none of the Ages I have come across a place where this photo links to. 

A second Loose End is located in the Teledahn Age. Behind that "machine gun periscope" is a kind of windmill and in front of that mill is a lever. When you click on that lever the mill will turn for a moment but then it stops right at once. I also did not find out where that big "standing on its side" platform serves for .Also in the Teledahn Age you can go straight through the tunnel at the Journey door. You then arrive at the back of the mountain and there is also a lever at the bottom of the iron staircase. If you click on that lever, the dam sinks down into the water. I could not find out what's useful there.  But maybe these "Loose ends" are being solved in "The Path of the Shell" or they have a function in "Uru Live", the on-line world of Myst .
