Chapter 12: The new area: The 2nd quarter of the Medallion

After you have solved the puzzle of the circle panel, you have descended the ladder and turned to the right. 

The XYZ corridor has now become a bit longer and on the left you see a round opening.

Go through the opening and you will enter a hall.

Entrance Hall

On the left you see a corridor that is closed with a gray door. A green pipe goes to the door, the golden / yellow pipe goes through the wall.

On the right, there is a drawing on the wall and in front of you see a round tube with a button in front of it.

Go to the drawing on the wall on the right. You see 4 circles and when you press the red button you see the circles turning and also that there are openings.

The circles represent the round tubes, so you see that there are 4 of those round tubes. Name the tubes A, B, C, D.

Turn to the left, to the tube, and press button 1 ......

..... the tube is turning and you can get in there now . Step into the tube and in the tube stand with your hand on the circles, you will see in which tube you are.

So you can always see in which tube you are. You are now in Tube A. Do not press the bottom red button.

The tube rotates by pressing the upper red button. We are going to do this a few times now. Click once on the upper red button ....... The tube turned. Turn yourself around and you will then see Tube B but it is closed. Turn to the buttons again and press the upper red button again and the tube rotates again. Turn around and you will now see Tube D but this is closed also. Turn back to the red buttons and press the top red button again. Turn around again and ........ you are now looking into the Blue Cave.

Blue Cave

Step into the cave and look around for a moment. In the back of the cave is also a tube. Step into that tube and press the red button.

The tube rotates ... turn yourself around and ...... You see star keyhole but star key for this keyhole you will get in Rhem 5.

Then return to the blue cave by pressing the red button again and then turning yourself around again. 

In the side cave you see a blue panel with a drawing of a windmill next to it.

If you click on the 4 buttons on the blue panel you change the vertical lines in the 4 squares ....

.. you can not solve this puzzle now, so we will do that later. On the left you see a round metal door in the wall with button 8 in front of it. 

Step back into Tube A and now press the bottom red button, and ......... You fall down and land in the cellars and in the water. Take a look around and you will see another room where there is a passage, go there. And then right to the next room, there you see a ladder. Go up the ladder and then you come through the round hatch into the blue cave.

Back in the blue cave you see that Tube A is closed. So press Button 8 to turn Tube A back here

Step into the tube and check whether this is indeed Tube A. Then press the top red button again and you will turn back to the Entrance Hall

All 4 tubes, A, B, C, D, will through you into the water cellar when you press the bottom red button. 

When you have turned back to the Entrance Hall you do not step out Tube A but instead you press the top red button again. Then turn around and you will now see Tube B again but now it is open, so you can now get into tube B, but you do not do that now. Turn around again and press the top red button again, turn around and you will see Tube D and it is also open. Press the top red button once more and you are back at the Blue Cave again, pressing the top red button again and you are back at the beginning.

You are still in Tube A and you now have to go to Tube B.  When you look into the Entrance Hall from within Tube A you turn around to the red buttons. Now press the Top Red Button 5 times  and then turn around and .....When all is well you will see the open Tube B. Step over to Tube B and just stand with your hand on the circles to see whether you are indeed in Tube B now

In Tube B you now first press the top red button a number of times. After each time you have pressed the top red button you turn around and note down what you see. You will then see:

After 1 time you see a button with a green pipe that goes through the wall, this allows you to raise the gray door in the side corridor. Do NOT press this button because this corridor is closed from the other side.

  • After pressing twice, you see Tube C, which is now open.
  • After pressing 3 times, you see Tube A, which is now closed.
  • After pressing 4 times you will see a Cabinet on the wall with red crosses, which is connected to a blue pipe

  • After 5 times you see Tube C and it is closed now
  • After 6 times you see the gray door cabinet again
  • After 7 times you see the Cabinet with the red crosses
  • After 8 times you see Tube A and it is now open

 

Press the red button a number of times to go to the cabinet with the red crosses.

Now press the red button of this cabinet and....... You will then see black, gray and white squares. With the green button you can choose a different pattern. Make a drawing of the pattern, where the black, the gray and the white squares  are. This can be different every time but that is not a problem as long as you make a drawing of the pattern. You decide which gray / black / white pattern you want ...

Turn around and press the top red button a number of times until you see the open Tube C in front of you. Step into the other tube and place your hand on the circles to see which tube you are in...you must be in Tube C now

In Tube C you press the top red button a number of times, each time you turn around and then you see:

  • Tube D and this is closed.
  • Panel with 16 squares, left and right you see a blue pipe. The panel has no power yet

Gray metal door with left and right blue pipe, right yellow button and the door is locked.

  • Tube B and this is closed.

  • Tube D and it is now open.

  • Cabinet with 16 compartments, this is the same cabinet

  • The metal door again.

  • Tube B and it is now open.

The panels and the door are connected with a blue pipe but there is no power yet so you have to find something more. 

Turn until you see the open Tube D, step into Tube D and check if you are really in Tube D by keeping your hand on the circles.

Press the top red button a number of times in this tube and turn around every time and you will see:

  • Another panel with 16 squares and also the blue pipes
  • Tube A and it is open
  • Tube C and it is closed
  • Button to switch on the power for the panels and the metal door
  • Tube A and this is now closed
  • Again the panel with the 16 squares
  • The power button
  • Tube C and it is now open

Press the top red button a number of times until you see the power button, then press this button to turn on the power.

You now have to make your black / gray / white pattern on those 2 panels with the 16 white squares, so the pattern that you have chosen on the panel in Tube B. 

The principle is:  

  • black + black gives black, 

  • white + white gives white and 

  • black + white gives gray. 

Press the upper red button until you see the panel with the 16 squares. On the panel you make only the squares black that are also black on your drawing ... for me the panel then looks like this

  • Turn this Tube, via the top red button, until you see the open Tube C and then hop over to Tube C. 
  • Turn Tube C, via the top red button, until you see the 2nd panel with the 16 white squares. 
  • Click on this panel only the squares that must  be black and gray, according to your drawing of your pattern 

These squares are now black but combined with the other panel in Tube D it gives you the correct pattern of black, gray and white squares. For me it all looks like this....

So for me it looks like this on the 3 panels

Turn the Tube, via the top red button, until you see the metal door and then press the yellow button and ...... the door will now open.

Walk through the tunnel to the door and press the button, that's on a pole on the right..... The door slides open and you then step into a lift.

Go up with this lift and turn around, go outside and walk to the side path. 

At the end of the side path it seems that there must be something there but maybe that is something we'll see in Rhem 5. 

Turn to the left and walk to the door, press the button and the door opens. 

Go inside and turn to the left, then walk to the end of this room and then go out to the right.

You can go left here, but first walk straight ahead, to a bowl where a pipe hangs above. Look down to look in the round bowl ... You can see that water is flowing into the bowl. I suspect that this water will flow to the cellar beneath the tubes. You fall into that cellar when you press the bottom button in a tube. Walk back and turn right on the other path.

You will arrive at a double door with on the right a panel with 4 compartments with a black dot in each compartment. Below that you see a red button. 

A green pipe goes through the wall, on the other side of the door.

If you press the square orange buttons, the black dots will jump and dots are also added. Which code do you have to enter here? ... 

You do not know that yet. Turn around and walk back, then right into the building, left through the building and then right out through the door.

Go to the button on top of the pole opposite the side path, press the button and the lift door will open. 

Press the button again and the lift drops down and you will see an opening to the other side.

Go through the opening to the other path, the turn right and enter the next room and then go right out of the building.

Walk along the path to the end and then go left through the tunnel. At the end of the tunnel you go to the right. 

On the left side you see a windmill. If you look up you can see the vanes tare turning.

At the windmill you also see the green pipe that goes through the wall at the double door. Opposite the windmill you see a door with a button on the right side

Go to the door, on the left you see a latch. Click on the latch to raise it. Then press the yellow button.

The door is now open, so go in and walk to the end and look down at the ladder hole

Go down the ladder and the turn around. On the left you see a window and when you look through it you look through the tunnel from the tubes to the lift

Turn back to the right and walk to the end and look down again at the round ladder hole

Go down the ladder and turn around, walk to the metal door. There's a line drawing on the door......Draw it over because this is the solution for the panel in the blue cave.

NB: If you had pressed the button in Tube B before, this door would now been open and you would not seen this drawing. Then you had to go to Tube B again, press the button and go to Tube C. Through the metal door to the elevator, up and at the windmill again through the hallway to the door. 

Now click on the yellow / green button on the door, it will now open.

Walk further down and you are back at the Entrance Hall of the new area. Go to Tube A. If Tube A is not open now than push the button 1 that stands in front of it. 

Step in Tube A and press 3x on the top red button. Turn around and step into the blue cave.

Blue Cave

Go to the right, to the panel with the drawing of the windmill. Now make the line drawing  that you found on the back of the metal door in the squares.

You do this by clicking on the buttons, until you have the right lines in each of the 4 squares

You hear the sound of something shifting, turn around and look at the Tube that goes to the star keyhole

This Tube is now closed, do not press the button in the middle because then the windmill panel puzzle gets reset.

Go back into Tube A and press the top red button, turn around and see that the passage to the XYZ corridor is now also closed. 

Step out Tube A and go right and follow the corridor and climb up via the  2 ladders and.. 

.......go  to the windmill.....

At the windmill you look up and you see that the vanes are standing still now. Turn to the left and then go left through the tunnel, to the right to the building, in the building go  left and then to the door in the wall Press the button and go through the lift "house" to the other side, walk to the other side and press the button.

Enter the building and go to the left, at the end to the right and out and walk to the Bowl with the pipe above it. 

The water no longer flows and you see the code for the "Dots lock" at the bottom of the Bowl

Note down the "Dots" code and then go to the double door.

Enter the "Dots code" there and then press the red button. The doors open but it is dark inside, there is no power.

You first have to go back to the windmill because it has to run again to get power. 

Turn left, diagonally left, forward,  diagonally right, diagonally left, forward through the building. 

Right through the door, pressing the button twice when the door of the lift is closed, through the lift, diagonally to the right, enter the building

Forward and then left through the tunnel, right and you are back at the windmill.

Turn to the left and click on the gray box to open it, then click on the red button and the display will turn green ...... there is power again.

Now back to the double door with the Dots buttons, you shout know the way now.

Now go inside. At the back there is a drawing of the windmill and the water and the stream.

Turn to the right and enter the room, on the right you see a bed and on the left a curtain hangs.

Turn to the left and click on the curtain, this moves to the side and you see a room with a hatch on the wall.

Click on the hatch and this will open, zoom in and you see the arrival area of ​​Rhem 3.

Zoom out and turn around, go back to the room and turn left. There you see a safe in the wall and left and right is a photo on the walls

Those 2 photos are clues to where you can find the code for the safe. The left photo shows you the cellar  where you fall  in to when you press the lower red button in any of the 4 tubes, it is half full of water. If you have been there before, you know that you didn't see any code in the cellars  The right photo shows you the Bowl with the water pipe above it, here you saw the "Dots code" but only when the water was gone. Maybe you should look in the cellar when the water is gone there. 

You have to go back to the Blue Cave now and you can go there in two ways. With the lift down and then turning the Tubes until you are with Tube A in front of the blue cave. Or you go to the windmill and then through the door on the right, through the tunnels and the ladders, down to the Entrance Hall of this area ..... this is the route that  I shall take, so I see you back in the Entrance Hall

Back in the Entrance Hall you step back into Tube A and turn to the blue cave.

Blue Cave

Go to the Windmill Panel.....The code is still good but because you have turned the windmill on again you have to reset 1 of the 4 squares. So do that

You hear something sliding again, the  to the tube to the star keyhole is closed again. Step back in Tube A and now click on the bottom red button and ....

......You fall down to the cellar again but now there's no water. Now you see the code for the safe on the wall: 6238

Turn around and go to the ladder in the other room and climb back up to the blue cave.

In the blue cave you go again into Tube A and press the top red button, get out and go through the tunnels and the ladders, back to the windmill.

Click again on the gray box and then the red button in that box to turn the windmill on again, there is power again.

Then go through the tunnel and through the lift to the double door with the Dots buttons. 

Go inside to the safe, enter the code 6238 and press the red button. The safe opens and there it is.........  the 2nd quarter of the medallion, take it.......

 On the right is a lectern with a letter on it, read the letter.

You are now ready in the new area and you now have to go all the way back to the Arrival building, because there you have to take a picture of the Artefact Disc
