You can buy Röki on Steam but also on gog.com I have version 1.07 and have had no problems with the game
Chapter 10: Open the UtangardTower Gate and reach the Tower and then the Endgame
A: Open the Utangard Tower Gate
After the Sundial puzzle, you let Tove descend the spiral staircase of the Sundial. So we start this last part of Röki at the top of the spiral staircase. I found this a tricky part because I had to navigate very well with my ASDW or with my arrow keys to make Tove descend the spiral staircase, but with a little luck you should be okay.
When you have Tove at the bottom of the spiral staircase, follow the tunnel further to the left. You can then pick up a Loot Item halfway through the tunnel
Follow the tunnel further to the left and ..... Tove will then end up in the last, bottom cell of the castle prison. This is the cell you couldn't enter before.
There is the corpse of a vulture in the cell and by the corpse is the 2nd Signet Ring. Take the 2nd Signet Ring
Now Tove has to go back through the tunnel and then back up via the spiral staircase and this went just as bad for me as descending the stairs, but in the end it works
Stay Tove and now take her via the stairs to the right of the sundial and through the next courtyard and the 1st vulture puzzle to the castle wall where we solved the 2nd vulture puzzle
On the wall you first go to the right because at the end of this wall you can pick up another Loot Item
Then turn around and walk over the wall to the left and then dive into the room with the chest and immediately exit this room through the left gate and .....
.... Tove is then on the right side of the Tower Gate mechanism. Park Tove here and switch to Hendrik
Hendrik is still standing at the sundial. Now bring Hendrik up and then to the Vulture Courtyard and then through the left door to the Bookcase room
Exit the bookcase room through the right gate and ..... Hendrik is on the left side of the Tower Gate mechanism
Make sure you have zoomed in on Hendrik's side of the mechanism. Both Hendrik and Tove now have to place a signet ring in the mechanism. It does not matter whether you have Tove on the right or on the left, and that also applies to Hendrik. I found it easier to put Tove on the right and Hendrik on the left. You have 2 signet rings, a green and a red and it doesn't matter which ring you use with Tove and Hendrik.
Take 1 of your 2 signet rings from inventory and click the thing in the mechanism.
You will get the arrow, but you should not click it because then Hendrik will take the ring back out the mechanisme.
Switch to Tove and as Tove you put the other Signet Ring in the mechanism and ....
....... on the Vulture Courtyard the gate to the Tower will open and you have earned another Badge.
Now bring Tove and Hendrik, through the middle doors in the two tower rooms, down to the now open gate in the vulture courtyard
Then, first as Hendrik or as Tove, go through the gate and then follow the stairway to the Utangard Tower
Almost at the top you park Hendrik, or Tove, and then get the other one up here.
Then go up the last part and do the same with the other
The Utangard gate is closed and you can never open it. In the right corner is a lift cage and the lift mechanism.
Put Tove in the lift cage and then operate the lift mechanism as Hendrik and .......
...... after some musing from Hendrik, he sends Tove upstairs by elevator and Tove then ends up on top of the:
Utangard Tower
Well ...... Look at all scenes ..... you don't have to do anything, but to keep up the speed you can click away all text screens. I'm not going to write this out and explain this for you
Eventually, Rörka lets Tove end up in the Forest Vision and here you still have to do a number of things.
B: Forest Vision / Endgame
Tove is on the forest road in the dark forest .... It is the year in which Lars is born and that happened here in this forest while Hendrik was on his way to the hospital with his highly pregnant wife Eva. Eva did not survive her delivery here and Rörka chased Tove into this vision to prove to her that it was Tove's fault that her mother died here and that Tove is a very bad human child.
Run forward on the forest path until you reach the car and your mom and dad
Watch at the scene ...... Eva is about to give birth to Lars and Hendrik screams at his daughter to call in the help troops.
Hendrik screams that there must be a public telephone somewhere in the forest and that Tove must find it and use it to call for help
You have to look for that phone 3 times. 2 times the phone will disappear but the 3rd time the phone will stay. I don't know if that phone pops up randomly but here's how it was in my game. Run down but don't follow the path. Run down into the forest and ....... Rörka, as a raven, appears and starts to pester Tove
Run further down and then go left once and ..... you will find the 1st phone
... Unfortunately ... the phone disappears and Tove is zapped back to the car.
So you have to try it a second time, so run down again, into the forest and Rörka pops up again and pester Tove some more. So look for the phone again but it disappears again and Tove is zapped back to the car. For the 3rd time you have to look for that rotten phone. Rörka reappears and she now brings Tove to despair
But the 3rd time you find the phone again and now the thing does not disappear
Look at the phone and ...... The phone turns into Shadow Tove who screams it's all Tove's fault
Shadow Tove disappears and Shadow Eva and Shadow Hendrik appear in the forest, in a cemetery.
Run to Shadow Eva and talk to her. Shadow Eve disappears. Run to Shadow Hendrik and speak to him. Shadow Hendrik disappears
Run back to the car and ....... Lars is now born and .....
Röka appears and ensures that Tove will never ever reach the car with Hendrik, Eva and Lars. Now you have to keep running forward ...... Rörka will keep appearing, as Raven or as "human" and she tries to convince Tove that it was Tove's fault that her mother died because she never reached that phone. ... Keep running and you can click away the texts to make it go a little faster
At a certain point Tove comes to her senses because she then remembers how it really went. Rörka disappears and Röki shows up
Röki does not want to be a human child. He wants to be himself and Tove then reaches the car where her dying mother tells that everything is okay
Okay ..... now look at all the ending scenes ....
I am not going to write this out either because I assume that, although you cannot play a game independently without my help, you can watch the outcome by yourself, don't you?
Then the Credits will roll over your screen ..... this is done because there will be dessert ...
After the credits, Tove and Lars are back at the lake.
Lars then runs away to the snowman again. This is your last chance to see if you have scored all Badges and all Loot Items
So press your J-key and scroll through the journal and view the Badge pages and ......
...... the Loot Item pages. I have found 26 of the 48 possible Loot Items.
If you find 26 Loot Items a bad score and start pissing about this on various flora and fauna, then go play the game again to try to score all Loot Items. I'm not going to do it anymore because I'm not interested in it. I already told you at the beginning of the walkthrough that I wouldn't try my best to find all the Loot Items and see ... I kept my word. I'm totaly not interseted in these kind of silly Steam Achievement that they put into the games these days
Put the journal away and then run to the right, to the snowman, and see the END, which unfortunately isn't worthy of this nice game
