Lazarus Bundy is an Italian-American detective from Miami who works for the HPD detective agency and he is one of two controllable protagonists in the game. Lazarus is on the trail of a serial killer, the Blow Torch Killer, when Kathrin Mulzberg, the heir to a rich and influential family, goes missing. Because Lazarus gets pulled of from the hunt of the Blow Torch killer by his boss Burdon, he decides to investigate the kidnapping of Kathrin Mulzberg on his own, plummeting him into an international intrigue, full of ancient cult conspiracy. The other character who is along for the ride is Alice, who works with Lazarus Bundy and acts as his sidekick throughout the game.
The Hand of Glory consists of 2 parts. Part 1 is set in Miami U.S.A and Part 2 is set in Italy. If you have the complete game and have not played part 1 before, you can start the game with part 1 when you start a New Game. If you already have played Part 1 you can continue with part 2.
The game is point and click. You have a inventory that goes open when you move your cursor to the top of the screen. You can make all hotspots in your screen visible by pressing your space key. Your Escape key will bring you onto the main menu screen where you can save and load, go to the option, continue playing and Exit the game.
You can save / load at any time and as often as you want in this game.
You need your left mouse button and your right mouse button in this game. Left mouse button is for getting things and doing things and right mouse button is for looking at things first. There are some scenes in the game were Lazarus can die, depending of what you do and how fast you do it. When Lazarus gets killed you will get a second chance to do that scene over again.
NB: This is a STEAM game, so there are a lot of so called Steam Achievements in the game that you can earn by doing rather stupid things like dying every time that you can die. Unfortunately for you I find those STEAM Achievement pretty childish, so I'm not going to mention those achievements in my walkthrough. If you want to get all those pretty stupid achievements while playing, then please find yourself another walkthrough
The Blow Torch killer plays a game with Lazarus because he's sending Lazarus a note when he plans to kill his next victim.
When the game starts, Lazarus has just received another note that has sent him to an address on Miami Street and here the game begins........
Part 1: Miami
Prologue: November 10th: The outskirts of Miami
Upon arrival at the address in Miami street Bundy has a telephone conversation with his boss Inspector Burdon from the HPD. Burdon is not happy that Bundy has taken it upon himself to go against his orders to stay home. After this conversation you get control over Bundy. Look at everything you can look at with your right mouse button. You can make every hotspot visible when you press your Escape-Key. It's important in this game that you always look at everything first before you use your left mouse button to take things or to do things.
Lazarus is moving around through Miami on his super-fast bicycle the GreenDart and he has parked his bicycle at the parking meter. Look at the GreenDart bicycle. The curb of the sidewalk is badly damaged on 1 place. Check out the damaged curb. Then move Lazarus 2 or 3 times over the damage curb by left clicking with your cursor on it......and.....
... after you have moved Lazarus 2 or 3 times over the damaged curb, a lump of stone breaks off the pavement and Lazarus automatically picks up the lump of stone and ....
......... Lazarus stores the lump of stone in the inventory. Move your cursor to the top of the screen to open the Inventory bar.
In inventory Lazarus now has his notebook, his detective badge and his phone and also the piece of stone that he just broke off the curb.
To view items in the inventory, right-click on it. To take items from inventory, left click on it. The item is then attached to your cursor and you can then click the item on the spot where you think you should use it. Lazarus keeps writing down the tasks he has to do in his notebook. To read the notebook, right click on it. Completed tasks are crossed out in the notebook. So.....look at...means right click on an item and take means left click on an item.
Now look at the intercoms to see them in close-up. Lazarus don't now witch button to push yet but you see a Smiley. Look at that Smiley
Go out the close-up of the intercoms via de blue arrow. Now look at the mailboxes and......
In one of the mailboxes is a messages from the Blow Torch Killer but the box is locked
Open up the inventory and take out your Badge and then click the Badge on the locked mailbox
Lazarus puts his badge between the lid of the mailbox. Now take the stone from inventory and use the stone on the badge and .....
... with the stone Lazarus hits his badge and this opens the mailbox and he takes the letter that was in the mailbox. The letter is torn up in little pieces and Lazarus tells that the letter is written in invisible ink. Open up the inventory and then right click on the Letter scraps.....Lazarus must find some scotch tape to tape the letter scraps together. Close the inventory and now look at the GreenDart bike again.
A Flask sticks on GreenDart. Right Click or Left Click on the Flask and.......A piece of scotch tape sticks on the flask and Lazarus takes the piece of scotch tape from the flask. Dive into the inventory, pick up the piece of scotch tape and combine the tape with the letter scraps and......
......you now must puzzle the letter scraps together to restore the letter. It's a simple jigsaw puzzle. Pick up a letter piece and drag it to the envelope and then click it on the envelope. You can't turn the pieces, so puzzle the pieces together on the envelope. When you click a piece on the right spot then it stays there. When you're done you go out of the close-up automatically
The writing on the letter are written with invisible ink so Lazarus must heat up the letter to make the words visible. A vending machine stands against the Pawn Shop. Right click the vending machine.....The vending machine isn't active but it is still warm. Take the invincible letter from inventory and click it on the vending machine and.....
......the warmth from the vending machine makes the writing visible. Click on each paragraph of the letter to let Lazarus read the letter.
There's also a red Smiley on the letter....Click on the Smiley...It's identical to the smiley that you saw on the intercoms....
.......Lazarus now knows the apartment he needs to go in. So go in the close up of the intercoms again and now click the G. Clover button at the red smiley and......
........Lazarus has a conversation with the G. Clover in that apartment but the he won't let Lazarus in.....
Lazarus then looks at the fire escape and concludes that it is the only way for him to get to that apartment. There's an alley between the apartment building and the Pawn Shop but it's closed off with a fence. Right click that fence and then left click on it and........
Lazarus climbs over the fence and ends up on the roof of the Pawn Shop. Walk to the left. Take the Stone from inventory again and click it on the fire escape ladder and......
The ladder goes down and Lazarus also goes down again. Click with the blue arrow at the fire escape ladder and......Lazarus climbs up to the window of the apartment of G. Glover
We then see Lazarus looking through the window into the apartment and we see that G. Clover is in fact the Blow Torch Killer and he has his victim locked up in the deep closet
Glover takes the girl out of the closet and then he gets a call on his cell phone.
Clover can't see Lazarus...You need to act quickly now......On the low table stand a bottle.....Left click that bottle and then click with the bottle on Blow Torch and......
Lazarus climbs through the window into the room but he falls onto the glass table.
Quickly click the blue arrow to hide Lazarus under the low table
When Lazarus is lying under the low table then open up the inventory and right click on your cell phone
You see your cell phone in close-up. Click on Alarm and then click on Alarm Off to set the alarm of your cell phone on......
Click the blue arrow to go out of this close-up. Now take your cell phone out of the inventory and throw the cell phone into the storage room and......
...Lazarus throws his cell phone into the storage room and.....the alarm goes of and Blow Torch goes into the storage room to check it out.
...Quickly click on / in the storage room and.......
.....Lazarus goes to the storage room to close the doors. In the corner, at the window, stand a lamp.
Take the Lamp and quickly click the lamp on the closed storage room doors to barricade the storage room.
If you where to slow with barricade the storage room then Lazarus gets killed by Blowtorch but you will get a second chance......
Lazarus set the girl free but then he gets knocks out by the Blow Torch Killer and......
Cut scene: We see the kidnapping of Kathrin Mulzberg
The game now begins with the credits and then we end up in:
