Chapter 4: Robert's Mansion

  Barn:

  You can walk through the house to go to the barn or here through the garden. Open the gate and walk to the barn.

  Zoom in on the lock and enter the code: 8831, open the door and enter.

  Then walk to the rack in the back, there are a number of things on the shelves that are interesting.

  On the shelfs are 2 keys, a diary and 2 chess pieces.

  On the middle shelf is a key, grab it and turn it around. The sticker says that this is the key to the Attic. The key that is next to the purple diary is for the drawer in the room of Trisha.

On the shelf below you see 2 chess pieces. Pick up both chess pieces 1 by 1 and look at the bottom because there are numbers. Queen = 1 and Tower( Rook) = 7,  

Take a photo of it or make a note of it because you need this for a later puzzle.

  Pick up the diary and read it. Turn around and walk back to the door.

There is a note on the wall next to the door .... Read the note ...... The note says that the photographer Oliver has lent a shovel.

Garage:

Go out of the barn and walk to the house, go over the terrace through the glass doors. Cross over and go up the stairs to the left of the reception, go right into the corridor and walk to the end.

This is the door to the attic above the garage, with the key in your inventory you open this door.

Go inside, on the left in the corner is a desk. You can look at all the drawers but they are all empty. Turn to the right and walk to the table, behind the 2 boxes that stand on it you will find a page from a book. This shows a clock with a secret safe, here are also the instructions to open the safe. Just take a picture of it.

Also search the rest of the attic, then, down the stairs here, down to the garage. Open the glass door.

In the gray cupboard to the right of the door you will find a drawer with garden tools, you can view this but not take it with you. In the drawer above there is a note, you can read this. Also search the rest of the garage, on a cupboard to the right of the barbecue you will find a diary of Derrick Tyler. So read it.

Go back upstairs, through the hallway back into the house. Walk straight along the stairs and then go left into the room.

Tea Room: Clock puzzle

  Here the clock hangs on the wall on the left side, walk towards it and place your cursor on the small round hole in the lower right corner. 

You will see "Place Item", click on the butterfly key in your inventory and click on use.

The key is now in the clock, click on the dial now and you can now set the time there. Turn the clock to 3:20, turn the key to the right and .....

  ...... the dial is turning away. There are a few letters in the space behind the dial, both coming from Henry Johnson.

  Read both letters carefully, the first letter is about Sofia and her baby and the second letter suggests that Vivian has something to do with the death of her mother-in-law.

Turn around and leave the room, go to the left and then to the right. Walk straight ahead and enter the room on the left, this is the room of Trisha.

Trisha Room

Go to the nightstand to the right of the bed, zoom in on the lock and open the drawer with the key in your inventory.  

Open the top drawer, you will see a key and a note. Take the key and read the note. The key is from the house of Dorothy and Trisha can always go there. In the lower drawer you will find a diary of Trisha, read this. In this diary you read, for the first time, the name Vincent, that would be a younger brother of Trisha. You can also read that there may be a secret room in the cabin. Next to the diary is a cross and a note, take the cross and read the note.

Look at the cross and then think of the photos in the drawer of the desk in the room of Steve Moss. There it was written: where is the key on the photo from the side of a closet. You have just found the key to Dorothy's house. If all goes well, you have noted that address earlier. If not then you have to go to the security room to look in the personal data folder. Dorothy lives on 40 Black Pine Road and now you go there. Go out of the room and to the right, immediately right again to the stairs. Down you go to the right, through the gate. Follow the road and in the bend you go to the right, down the stairs and then to the right. Walk out of the alley and walk straight to the house of Dorothy, walk to the door.

Dorothy: 40 Black Pine Rd

Open the door with the key you just found.

Search the entire ground floor. In the room next to the kitchen is a desk, in the upper drawer on the right you will find another diary of Dorothy. Just read, click away the diary and go to the stairs in the living room. The room at the top left of the stairs is locked.

  The other door here is the bathroom, search everything but there is nothing to be found.

Back to the Hunting Cabin

Go down and leave the house, through the gate and go to the right.Further on just before the post office you go right again. 

Walk up to the river and then go left to the footbridge, cross the river and go to the hut.

Hunting Cabin

Enter the hut, go left to the locked door opposite the bathroom. Open the door with the key in your inventory.

  Go down the stairs and in the rack on the left you will find another diary of Scott.  

In this diary you can read what happened to Sofia and her baby, during a fight Sofia fell and broke her neck. 

Present were Vivian, Dr. Johnson and Andrew. Andrew took the baby and hid the body. The baby's name was Vincent.

Then walk to the cupboard on the other side of the room, which is empty but there is a lamp in the cupboard. Now look at the left side of the cupboard, there you can see a hatch in the middle. Click on it and you will find the spot for the cross as you saw in the picture. Click on the hole with your cursor and then click on the cross in your inventory and then use.

Then go to the front of the cupboard and pull the chain at the lamp, the back wall turns away.

Enter the secret room, take a look in the rack behind the door. Also in the cupboards above the bed. Then go to the desk.

Look in the drawer under the typewriter, there is a plan of the sewer system. In this drawer is also a key on a large ring, take this key.

Click on the map to view it, then click it away and the map is now in your maps.

There is a key and a photo in the upper drawer. Take the key and store it in your inventory, then take the picture. Sofia is on the photo with a baby wrapped in a blanket with a pattern. This is the same blanket as in the box on the bed in the presbytery. In the drawer below there is a diary from Scott. Read this book, Scott realizes that Sofia is his mother and that Charles Roberts is his father. You also read that Scott now knows where the body of his mother is, in a pit on the grounds of the Mansion.

Above the desk hangs the Painscreek map on a pin board with the houses of the protagonists. On the left are the photos of the suspects.

To the left of the bulletin board an old key of a gate hangs on a rack. It is the key to the garden gate, in the backyard of the Mansion. Take this "Old Key".

Find the entrance to the Sewer

Leave the hut and go back over the footbridge, to the left and at the end to the right into the alley. In the end you go to the left, follow the road until the last house on the right.

Go right into the alley. A little further you go left, the stairs. Halfway down the stairs you go to the left, there is the old entrance to the sewer. With the key on the big ring you open door to the sewer.

Sewer

Look at the plan of the sewer and go explore the area, you have to open a few gates below, because some can only be opened from one side.

Go to the left and you will end up at a ladder to a manhole but it is locked.

Turn and walk back to the T junction, left you come to a gate that is locked. Turn around and follow the sewer in the other direction, you will see a fence and you can open it.

Open the fence and simply follow the main sewer, the side passages are dead or the fences are locked. 

Further on there is another main sewer from the right, continue straight ahead until you cannot go any further.

You can only open this gate from the other side and that comes later in the game. Turn around and walk back to where the two main sewers meet, you came from the right, so now go left. You come to a T-junction, on the left you come to a closed gate so go to the right. Follow this sewer until the end, you will find a door on the right, here you get an exit on the door.

  Click EXIT on the door and you will now enter the basement of the hospital.

Painscreek Community Hospital:

  Basement  

Go to the first door on the left, enter the room.This is the morgue look around here.

In the back on the right four things are on the floor: two keys, a wallet and a notebook.

  Pick up the wallet, which is of the private detective Steve Moss. The notebook is also from Steve. Pick up the keys.

Read the book therein a few clues, Matthew has hidden a gift for Sofia. Matthew has written directions on her and his favourite places. In this book are the favourite places of Sofia, write them down or take a picture of them. You can also read them back in the journal. But what are Matthew's favourite places. Read the book further, there is also a suspicion for Bernard Hopkins. Steve has also received a key by mail with a label BH. This key is also on the ground here, the other key is from a briefcase. In the room of Steve Moss is a briefcase that is locked.

Leave the room and go to the left, on the right you will find a storage room. Go in here, walk straight forward and on a shelf is a hammer, take it.

Walk further along the hallway and to the left in front of the elevator you will find the electrical room, go in here. 

At the back, you will find a main switch, which is OFF. Put this on ON and you have power in the hospital again.

Then walk along the elevator to the stairwell, open the door and go upstairs.

  Ground floor (First Floor)

  When you come out of the stairwell you walk straight past the reception, left into the hallway. Just beyond the nursing counter is an office with a card slot on the right.

Now that there is power again you can open the door with the key card  of Dr. Johnson, this is in your inventory.

Walk past the bank to the telephone / fax, there is a letter in front of it. Just read, this is about misappropriation of funds.

  Then walk to the desk, in the second drawer on the left you will find a key with the label 203.

 In the third drawer on the right you will find 2 letters, one is a threatening letter and the other is a reaction to it. Note the strange e in the threatening letter.

  Click on the phone on the desk, there are 3 messages on the voicemail.

Also take a look in all the cupboards and books and then leave the room. Go to the right and a little further to the right into the staircase, go to the next floor.

1st floor (Second Floor)  

Go to the left and then to the right, walk through the corridor. Almost at the end you will find room 203.

Open the door with the key, which is labelled 203.

Search the cabinets. Then walk to the cupboard to the left of the bed.

In the upper drawer you will find a key and a diary, pick up the key and then the diary. It is from Dorothy, read it. 

There is a newspaper in the bottom of the drawer. You read about the murder of Scott Brooks.

Leave the room and go left, then left again. In front of the elevator you go to the right and left down the stairs, on the ground floor you walk straight to the reception and then outside.

Through the gate, walk the road to number 40 and there you go through the gate. Enter the house of Dorothy.

Dorothy: 40 Black Pine Rd:

Go up the stairs and at the top you open the door on the left with the key that has just been found in room 203.

  Turn to the left and walk to the bedside table, on top is a hanger. Take a look at this.

  In the upper drawer you will find another diary of Dorothy, just read. In the bottom drawer is a newspaper, it is about the death of Trisha Roberts.

  Go to the other side of the room, in the cupboard there is a box with a label Sofia on it. Unfortunately locked.

Go to the mantelpiece. On top is a letter from the photographer Oliver. Dorothy has long cleaned there as you can see on the calendar. 

A key hangs to the left of the calendar. Take the key and leave the house. On to the house of photographer Oliver.

  Photographer Oliver:

Take a look at your map how to walk. Cross the road and walk through the alley, in the end you go left. The second last house belongs to the photographer Oliver.

Use the key you have just found in Dorothy's house. When the door is open you go inside, search everything again. There's a door behind the counter, go in there.

It is an office, on the right is a telephone / fax. In the drawer below you will find a letter from the office of the Church Haven that Pastor Matthew is not coming to the annual meeting. In the middle drawer of the desk you will find a diary of Oliver the photographer, read this.

In front of the desk there is a tool box on the floor, open it and take out the wrench. In addition, there is a shovel in a box, also take the shovel.

  The filing cabinets are empty. There is nothing to be found in the bathroom. The rest of the doors are locked so go outside.

Anne's Courtyard Inn

You've found another key to a briefcase, there's such a bag in Steve Moss's room, room 201. So go back to Anne's Courtyard Inn. When you are outside the photographer you go to the left, at the end you cross right over to an alley. Just walk on and you'll see the car on the left for the door of the Inn.

Enter the Inn and go up to room 201, walk to the desk and open the briefcase with the key from the morgue.

  In the suitcase are 3 things: 1 the autopsy report of 3 deaths, Andrew Reed, Henry Johnson and Vivian Roberts.

  This report shows that Andrew and Henry were also murdered. 2 a note stating that the code for the safe in the gallery is the birth date of Vincent.

  There is also the code for the filing cabinets in the sheriff's office: 7741.

3 a picture of a dart board with 5 arrows, this is the dartboard on the door of the desk of Bernard Hopkins. Now all the arrows are in the board.

    You now have the code for the filing cabinets of the sheriff, so that's where you first go.

Sheriff's Office

In the office of the sheriff you stand in front of the filing cabinets and open the lock with the code 7741.

  In the upper drawer is a letter with the details of Vivian's murder. In the drawer below are papers with the alibis of 6 people,

If you've read everything so far, you know someone is lying. In the lower drawer you will find a car key.

Anne's Courtyard Inn:

Go back to the car  of Steve Moss in front of the Inn .....

Open the glove compartment with the key that you just found at the sheriff.

  In it is a notebook from Steve Moss, read this well. There is also a key.

This is from a box behind the reception of the Inn, this belongs to room 201.

Go inside at the Inn and enter the reception, in the back you will find the cupboards. Open 201 with the key from the car. Here is a torn note stating that he has hidden a key in one of the drainage pits on the street. There is also another Steve Moss notebook, again good reading.

There is also a picture of a wall lamp, on the back something is written: where is the button for?

Find the Drain

Leave the Inn and go to the left, you will now have to search for the key in the drain. You can now open all the drains with the wrench that you found with the photographer. No need for that because I will tell you where to look. The screenshots shows to go right and take a little detour to go to Silverlake Blvd, but you can also go left when you leave the Inn.

Walk through Cloverstreet and at the end you are also in Silverlake Blvd.  Go right and in one of the drains is the key.

At the stop sign, go to the right in the direction of the cemetery (Cemetery). In a drain on the right you will find the key, stand with your cursor on the drain and you will get "Search".

  Then click on the wrench in your inventory and then use, the bolts are loosened and you can open the drain.

  You will find an old-fashioned key in the drain.

  Then turn around and at the green container  go the right, through the gate and up the stairs. 

To the left and then to the right, right in front of you see number 43, the house of the Tyler family.

Go upstairs and then into the right bedroom ........

To the left of the bed is a bedside table that did not open. You needed tools for that, you now have a hammer and that has to be successful. Click on the bottom drawer and you will see the message that you need tools. Select the hammer in your inventory and click on use, you can now open the drawer. In the drawer you will find a letter and a diary, read both well.

Leave the house and in the alley you go to the right. Through the gate and just before the stairs you go to the right to number 31. This is the house of Bernard Hopkins. Go inside
