Tom's Surprise is a free game and it's just like a Carol Reed game. It takes place in the vicinity of Walldorf, a town in Germany.
Like the Carol Reed games you can take a tutorial or you can start the game right away
So if you are familiar with the controls then click on: “I’m an expert and don’t need a tutorial.”
You’re on your way to your friend Tom and his family
At Tom's House:
Go to the front door and click on the bell, click on the bell again. There's nobody at home
Step back from the door. You can get a hint when you click on the to-do list in the top left corner.
Go with your cursor to the plant pot and you get a eye-cursor.
Click on the plant pot and then click again on the pot to zoom in, you find a key under the pot. Take the key.
You can try the key on the front door but the key don’t fit there. Click on the postbox and use the key on lock.
Take the note that is in the box
Read the note and you now have a new location on the map.
Put the note in your inventory, then zoom out and turn left. Go to the bike, click on the bike and you see the map.
Click on Dragon Playground to go there now
Dragon Playground:
Click on the gate to enter the playground, then go 2x forward,
to the tunnel under the play castle, and turn to the right.
There you see a play-dragon on the ground, Go to the dragon. You get a eyecursor on the eye of the dragon
Zoom in on the eye and note the different colors of the eyeball, from top to bottom: red, orange, white with left and right a little piece of blue, and red at the bottom.
Zoom out and go to the other side of the dragon, you get the eye-cursor on the wing of the dragon
Zoom in on the wing of the dragon.
Under the wing you find a small roll, take the roll and click on it. It is the top half of a note, click the note to your inventory.
Go back 3x and turn to the left, now crawl through the small tunnel under the play castle
After the tunnel turn left.
Follow the path 2x and you then see a ladder inside the play castle
Climb up the ladder.
Turn around and go up the stairs.
Look down.
Zoom in on the left corner and there you see a symbol on the wall and also another small roll.
Note the symbol and where you found the symbol: in this play castle.
Take the roll and click on the roll, it is the bottom half of the note.
In your inventory combine the 2 halves of the note, you now have a new location on the map
Zoom out and go back, zoom in on the left of the stairs and go down.
Follow the path and turn right and crawl back through the tunnel.
Exit the playground and click on the bike.
On the map click on Deadwood Garden

You can look in the to-do list what you have to do here, you have to find a small tagine
Turn right, forward and then turn left.
Follow the path 2x and turn left, in the middle of the woodpile you get the eye-cursor
Zoom in and take the garden shovel.
Zoom out and turn right, follow the path 2x and turn right
Forward and you get the eye-cursor, zoom in and you see the tagine. Above the tagine you find a clue on o log in the wood pile
Zoom in on the clue, here you see the solution for the tagine-puzzle.
You also find a symbol, note the symbol and where you found it.
Zoom out and then zoom in on the tagine.
You see 5 color buttons on the tagine.
Now you need the note from the postbox and the clue on the log.
Combine these 2 and you find the order to push the buttons.
The order to push the buttons is: red, blue, purple, green, green, blue, red and purple.
Inside the tagine you find a key and a note, take the key and the note.
Go back to the bike and click on the bike.
On the map click on Tom to go back to the house.
Tom's
Use the key you just found, on the door to go inside.
You cannot go further inside, so you stay in the hall
Turn left and look down, on the table you find a tablet and a marker pen.
Take the marker pen and then zoom in on the tablet, click on the on/off switch.
Type: START.
You completed the first stage, click on the arrow and you get a new goal.
You have a new location, you have to talk to Angela
Shut down the tablet and zoom out.
Angela:
Go outside and click on the bike.
On the pap you click on Angela to go to her house,
Click on the doorbell and then talk to Angela, you get 2 new locations where you have to dig in the sand.
The new locations are: Maple Playground and Sand Dune, first go to Maple Playground.
Maple Playground
You see the slide and the swing, turn to the left where you see a play house.
Zoom in on the play house and use the garden shovel to dig in the sand.
You find nothing here, so go via the bike and the map to the other new location: Sand Dune.
Sand Dune
Walk around and try to dig on several places but there is nothing to be found.
Go via the map back to Angela
Back at Angela
Click on the bell again and talk to Angela, you get another new location: Beach Volleyball.
