Chapter 3: Frozen Tears:

Leave the train. You can then go left or right. Go one screen to the left. You arrive at the "Battlefield", with a few soldiers who are preparing for a battle.

You can see the Cathedral in the distance, but you can't go there yet. You can also not continue further to the left. So go back to the train and then one screen to the right. You end up at a closed gate. Through the gate you see, in the distance, a hill and on that hill stand the statue that you have always dreamed about. The gate is guarded by a soldier. Click on the soldier .... You are not allowed through the gate and you also need a key for it. Go another screen to the right ...... you end up at the

Blacksmith:

The blacksmith stands in front of his house / smithy. Go talk with the blacksmith. The man invites you to come in and he will disappear inside. So also enter the house. The blacksmith is now working on his anvil. A sketch hangs on the wall above the fireplace. View the sketch .... you draw the sketch again in your sketchbook ...

The sketch shows you 2 faces in a circle ..... it is the solution of the puzzle to get to the Cathedral.  Get out of the close-up and talk to the blacksmith again .....

The blacksmith explains what you need, and what you have to do, to "awaken" the statue on the hill ..... you have to pierce the heart of the statue with a sword that is forged from steal of the stars. Blacksmith also tells you about an old man who lives in the Cathedral .... that old man might be able to help you with a blueprint for the sword. The blacksmith invites you to spend the night here and that's how it happens. The next morning the blacksmith tells about the fog and that during the fog the soldiers of the castle spread death and destruction through the land.

Leave the blacksmith house and then go one screen back to the left .... you end up back at the gate and see ..... the soldier is dead .... continue 2 screens to the left .... you are back on the battlefield ...... the soldiers here have been attacked by soldiers of the castle .... there is 1 survivor and he talks to you ...... the soldier is talking about a magician who is in the catacombs of the hill lives ..... That magician could help .... The soldier then throws the gate key on the ground ... That key is then at the bottom of your screen, just before the wounded soldier .... take the Key.....

Get out of the close-up and return to the Gate .Click on the keyhole in the middle of the gate. Take the Gate Key from inventory and put the thing in the keyhole and ..

...Did you think that the gate would open immediately? .... No .... you ended up in the:

Block Slider Puzzle:

There are 9 blocks in the box .... on each block there is an arrow with 2 points. 1 block is green and that green block is now on the left ..... the intention is that you move the green block to the right, to slide it out of the box on the right side. To achieve this, you must create a free path for the green block and for that you must push the other blocks out of the way. This is not difficult but a lot of work ..... Here is my step by step solution, starting from the starting position of the puzzle ..... you move the blocks by grabbing them and then slide them up, down,  left or right.

You automatically exit the puzzle when you have solved the puzzle and .... The gate opens. So go up one screen through the gate ... you end up at the entrance of the catacombs ..... don't go inside. There are coffins and a rowing boat. There is a "Glowing Blue Flower" in the rowing boat .... Take the "Glowing Blue Flower" from the rowing boat .....

Close the close-up and continue one screen up and ...... You are then on top of the hill and now near the huge Statue ..... Poor souls, who couldn't get "redemption", are sitting on chairs . On the left an other "Glowing Blue Flower" grows here ..... take the "Glowing Blue Flower" ...... Continue to the statue ........ On the left is your 3rd "Glowing Blue Flower" so take it ....

close the close-up and go back down twice, to the rowing boat. Now go in through the door.

The Magician:

You are now in the catacombs and here lives the Magician, whom the wounded soldier was talking about. You are in the first room. There is a table and on the wall you see a tube. If you click on the table you will read that the table is connected to a machine. The tube has a funnel with holes. You can't do anything here, so go further to the left ..... you end up at a corridor with coffins and ..... a guy in a long coat who stand with his face against the wall ....

Click on the guy to talk to him .... This is the magician and he wants you to be quite because you will wake up the dead ...... The magician is watching the dead through a hole in the wall and he wants to call the dead through his table, but for that he needs glowing blue flowers. You get the 4th flower from the magician, take the 4th flower from the book stand

Go back to the right, to the table. Click on the Funnel that sticks to the tube and then take the 4 flowers from inventory .....

Click with the flowers on each of the 4 holes of the funnel and ....... you through the flowers the funnel and .... each of the 4 lights then lights up red and ......

The machine goes to work and .... the Jester appears on the table .... So the Witch has buried the Jester alive.  The Jester begs you to bring him back to life to wake up .... and .... You will again have to make a moral choice ..... 2 locks appear .... the left lock is open, the right lock is closed.  If you click the left lock, you let the Jester live .... if you click the right lock, the Jester will stay dead ....

You have the choice again, but I give the Jester his life back, so I click the left lock .....

The Jester is grateful and claims that he has become a better person and disappears. Go to the left again and talk to the magician again and ........ the magician has a powder for you with which you can make the filthy fog on the battlefield disappear and he puts the bag with the powder on the stand. Take the Powder bag.

Close the close-up and go back to the right, scroll the screen to the right and then leave the catacombs via the arrow on the stairs. Back outside you go down and you are back at the gate. Go 2 screens left again and you are back on the battlefield. Take the Powder bag from your box and click with the pouch on the yellow mist .... it doesn't matter where you click, and ...... the yellow mist disappears.

Someone is hidden in the carcass of the dead fish ... Click on it ......You can now go up to the Cathedral and you can now go further to the left. Go up to the:

Cathedral:

The Cathedral is locked. So you have to unlock the Cathedral. There are 2 stone columns in front of the Cathedral .... there is an "Angel" on each column.

On both columns you see a face in a circle  ... those are the 2 faces of the sketch in the forge but here both faces have the same facial expression. Zoom in on the left column.

Column Puzzle:

View the sketch of the faces in your sketchbook. You have to make the faces on the 2 columns as in the sketch.

On the left column, the face should look like the left face on the sketch. The circle with the face is divided into 4 segments ....

you have to rotate the 4 segments until you have the face exactly like the left face on the sketch ..... You rotate the segments by clicking on it .......

When you have this left face well then the column will shake and you go out of the close-up and ..... the left column will then sink into the ground.

Then zoom in on the right column and make it face like the right face on the sketch and ........

.......The right column also shakes and then sinks into the ground and ..... the door of the Cathedral opens, so step inside. You end up in the front room of the Cathedral. The walls are full of paintings, in fact the entire Cathedral is full of paintings. When you click on each painting you earn an Achievement ..... provided that you have the Steam version of the game . I don't have the Steam version so I skip this. Continue to the next room.

You can then go through the gate to the 3rd room, but on the left is a wooden door. There is a chair in front of the wooden door and a letter on the chair. Read the letter

Click on the wooden door to open the door and then go inside and ..... you will meet the:

Blind Painter:

Click on the old blind painter to talk to him.

The old blind painter can paint a drawing of the sword for you, but then you first have to restore 30 of his paintings.

To be able to do this, the old man gives you his paintbrushes. So take the Paintbrushes from the stool.

The old man then says that when  you are ready to start, his cat will show you the 30 paintings you need to restore.

You then end up in the next room, together with the cat. The cat isn't to happy about restore 30 paintings.

The cat marks the painting that you need to restore with its claw, but in order to take the blueprint of the sword you have to cut the paintings to pieces. The cat then offers you knives with which you can cut those marked paintings .... the cat disappears and the knife set is on the floor in front of you...........So you must make a Moral Choice again here

Moral Choice: Cut the paintings or restore the paintings

So what are you going to do ...are you going to pick up the knives to cut the paintings marked by the cat, or leave the knives  to repair the 30 paintings with the brushes. Repairing is good, cutting to pieces is bad .... the choice is yours. I'm going to restore the paintings so I leave the knives here. Do you want to cut the paintings, then pick up the knives .... you will loose the brushes

You have to repair 30 paintings or you only cut the few marked paintings. If you have picked up the knives then you want to cut the paintings to pieces ... you look up those marked paintings, zoom in on them and cut them to pieces with the knives. But if you, like me, haven't taken the knives then you have to restore 30 paintings to their old glory ..... Then go through all the rooms  and then zoom in on the paintings. In the close-up, take the brushes from your inventory and click on the painting to restore the painting ..........

do this with 30 paintings ..........When you have restored 30 paintings you go back to the blind painter and ......

the old man then draws a sketch of the sword and that sketch is then in your sketchbook.

Leave the Cathedral, on the right and down twice. Back outside the front door of the church closes again and you can never go inside again.

Go back down to the battlefield and then a screen to the left and .... you end up at an gazebo with a few corpses .... in the distance the village is set on fire.

There is a puzzle in the bottom of the gazebo, but leave it for a while, because you miss a part for it. Talk to the soldier sitting on the edge of the arbor to hear his story. Go up to the burning village. On the left is the Lizard from the tower. On the right another person sits on a music cupboard. Click on the Lizard to talk to him.

The Lizard tells what happened after you gave him the Crown ....... it comes down to that the Crown turned out to be completely worthless. A long rock protrudes above the lizard and there is a hole in that rock .... remember that hole. When you are done with the Lizard, click on the person sitting on the music cupboard. This person tells about the Vulture ....

The Vulture has betrayed them to the castle and is therefore responsible for all destruction .... You are asked to go find the Vulture and capture it. The vulture appears to be injured. The musical cupboard  is a music puzzle but we will also leave this one for a while because we are going to look for that Vulture first:

Your verdict on the Vulture:

Return to the Blacksmith house, via down and then 4 times to the right. Do not go inside ..... On the sloping roof you now see, on the right-hand side, a trail of blood and you get the up arrow .... So climb up the roof via the up arrow and ....you have found the injured Vulture, who sits seriously injured in the nest. Click on the Vulture to hear what happened to him

Vulture blames you for all his misery .... because you did not give the Storm Egg to him but to the Sad Statue ..... the Vulture is dying .....you get a text screen that you click away. You are then back at the burning village. The person on the musical cupboard wants to know if you have found the Vulture. If you say Yes, the vulture will be murdered in a horrible way. If you say No, you give the Vulture the chance to just die from his injuries. The choice is yours again ..... Which zipper do you click? If you don't want to tell where the Vulture is, click the closed zipper, if you want to tell where the vulture is, click the open zipper.

Whichever choice you make, the person on the musical cupboard will give you a hint .... "The Music will show you the way" ...

and he releases a white pigeon and then he disappears ..... click on the musical cabinet to get into the puzzle.

The "Musical notes" puzzle:

The cupboard has 12 keys ... 7 white and 5 black keys. The white keys have black musical notes and the black keys have white musical notes. There is also a sketch of the musical notes hanging on the cupboard. The sketch shows you the order in which you have to click on the keys to replay the melody, BUT ...... the keys of the instrument are UP SIDE DOWN ....... So you must, for yourself, turn the keyboard to see the correct order. You don't have to worry about speed and time ..... click, in the right order on the keys .... it doesn't matter if you have a break in between keys

Number the keys, from left to right, 1 to 13. Then click in this order on the keys ..... 5, 5, 8, 7, 4, 6, 6, 9, 1, 2, 12, 5 and ....

the melody is played and you automatically get out of the puzzle .....

Along the rock tip a blue lightning skips through and then a stone disc appears in the hole .... take the Disc.

Get out of the close-up and go back down to the gazebo and now zoom in on the round disc that protrudes into the bottom of the arbor. You end up in the:

Disc puzzle:

5 discs but one is missing 1. Place the newly found disc on the left empty intersection ...

You now have to move the 6 discs to the right side to complete the line drawings. So you slide the discs through the slots to direct them to their correct positions. It's not that difficult and experienced gamers have done puzzles like this hundreds of times in games. Click on the discs to move them and then bring them to their correct places. When correctly done , you grab the Golden Rod, which then appears in the middle ....

this Golden Rod is made of the Star Metal you need to forge the sword. Go out of the close-up and return to the

Blacksmith house:

The blacksmith is standing in front of his house again. Give the blacksmith the Star Metal and ...... the blacksmith will immediately forge the sword.

Click away the black text screen and then take the Sword from the anvil.

Get out of the close-up and go back to the Statue on the Hill like lightning .... so left and then up through the gate, to the rowing boat and then 2 more screens up

Statue on the Hill:

When you are back to the statue, take the Sword from your chest. Click the Sword in the statue and ......

.. the statue sinks into the ground and a teleporter portal appears ..

Step through the Portal ..... you will get another text screen ..... read the text and then click the screen away and ...... you are in the:

Endgame:

Witch Key do you take?

Is this HELL.......You can go left and right. Go right. 2 shadowy people lean against a structure. Click on one of the two people and listen to what they tell you.

You will be told about the "Key of Light" and the "Key of Darkness" .....

The gate at the bottom of the structure will open .... Click in the hole and ..... there are 2 Keys in the cave .....

The left key is the "Key of Darkness" and the right key is the "Key of Light" ..... you can only choose 1 key ..... Which key do you choose ?.

If you choose the "Key of Darkness" you can, still get Redemption, provided you have not made more than 1 wrong moral choice in the game.

If you have made all the RIGHT moral choices in the game, it makes no difference whether you choose the "Key of Light" or the "Key of Darkness".

However, if you have made the wrong choice more than once, it makes no difference whether you choose the "Key of Darkness" or the "Key of Light".

Well ..... I believe that I have made all the morally correct choices in the game, so I now take the "Key of Light" here. You automatically leave the close-up. Now go 2 screens to the left and .... you end up at the Multiple Headed Beast: On the Beast is a person in a cloak .... Talk to the person sitting on the beast and ...... the fence goes Open....

Go inside .......... A lift ..... Click on the lift gate and then get in the lift and .....

the lift takes you deep underground but you have to click away the texts during the descent, otherwise you will continue to descend into eternity.

You end up leaving the elevator. In front of you is a Scale ..... take your "Key of Darkness" or "Key of Light" from inventory and put the key on the Scale and.......

..... Lady Justice appears .....

Last Judgment of Lady Justice:...

Lady Justice will pass the Last Judgment on you and she will first show you who you are ..........

.. .....So you are DEAD and you have been for a long time, right from the start of the game ....

...Lady Justice now also shows you the sin for which you ended up in this porch of Hell / Heaven .........

During your life you have killed your beautiful young wife, out of jealousy, and committed suicide immediately after that act. You then landed in the Porch of Hell / Heaven to give you the opportunity to seek Forgiveness for your heinous act. Lady Justice then lists all your moral choices that you have made in the game

.... and then Lady Justice casts her LAST JUDGMENT about you and ....

.......and that is ALWAYS ......HELL ......

NB: For making the Dutch walkthrough I have played Tormentum 5 or 6 times through, each time I have made different Moral Choices in those play troughs, but every time the game ended by sending me to HELL. In none of the 6 play troughs I was granted Redemption
