Chapter 8: Obstacle Course

After the Monitor Memory puzzle, Helicopter went up through pipes and now he is upstairs and hangs at the beginning of the Obstacle Course.

The 1 part of the Obstacle course is not difficult or complicated because it is mainly automatic. The door above is already open, because you activated the red Orb below. So fly to the right and keep following the "conveyor belt" to the right. The "conveyor belt" then turns into a tunnel with hanging and standing pillars. So fly further to the right, between,  the pillars and .....

...... at a certain point it seems that the "tunnel" ends up as a dead end on closed pillars, but nothing could be further from the truth. 

The pillars separate themselves so that you can continue flying.

...... eventually Helicopter reaches the next closed door. Push the lever to the right and ......

......unfortunately the door appears to be "double thick" and only the front panel slides open, but the door remains closed for the rest. 

However, to the left of the lever a hatch has now been slid open in the floor, so fly down through the floor hole and ......

......keep flying down and then further down the shaft and ......

.....you then reach a number of horizontally sliding bars. They are 3 bars and they hang under each other and they slide back and forth.

In each bar is an opening through which you have to move Helicopter down ..... it is not difficult so you will succeed

So fly further down through the 3 openings in the 3 sliding bars and Helicopter then reaches a number of vertical bars that hang obliquely and also slide back and forth and here too your Helicopter has to go further down through the openings in the bars to move on. It's not difficult. So the beams do move asynchronous from each other. Move Helicopter down through the slit in the top bar and then let yourself be carried back and forth under the bar until you see the slit in the next bar and then drop further down through the 2nd bar and keep doing this until the bars have been passed.

.After the vertical bars go further down until you can't go down any further and then go to the right and ....... SAVING and .......

........... You then reach the......

Crusher

You are at point 9 on the map

The crusher actually consists of 3 columns that you can each move separately relative to each other by activating the 3 red spheres on the left.

 I didn't do this because it actually makes it even more difficult to pass the crusher. It's a matter of good timing.

This crusher is a bit more difficult to get through. It requires speed and agility and starting at the right time. It's too complicated for me to explain this puzzle in detail, so my advice ...... try it yourself and see what happens and then figure out for yourself how you can best get through the crusher. So I didn't use the 3 red spheres to make the 3 columns move separately from each other....

If you have managed to guide Helicopter safely past the Crusher, then follow the ventilation channel further to the right and ...... Saving .......

At the end of the piece of oblique ventilation duct there is an Upward airflow that ensures that Helicopter is pressed against the ceiling and cannot go further to the right. Go back slightly and then stay low and wait until the upward air flow has disappeared for a moment and then quickly go further to the right and then follow the ventilation duct down and ......

......to the right and then dive out of the ventilation duct through the square hole. Helicopter lands in a large hall. Fly to the right and ......

........pass the large metal cube and fly your Helicopter into the large elevator. You are at point 10 of the map

The elevator door will close automatically when your Helicopter flies into the elevator and Helicopter will automatically go up with the elevator.

Stay calm in the elevator until the elevator has reached the top. The elevator door will then open automatically. 

But it makes no sense to leave the elevator on the left side because that side is another dead end.

In the right wall is a thick pipe. Fly into the thick pipe and then further up the pipe. Then use Helicopter to open the pipe cover and fly out of the pipe.

You are now at point 11 of the map. It makes no sense to go to the left again because that is another dead end.

 So fly to the right and ....... Helicopter then arrives at:

The Melting Crucible:

Point 12 on the map

Dive down on the left side of the crucible and then under the crucible to the right and ........ A door and a door lever.

Push the door lever to the right and ...... Unfortunately ....... the door does not open. Fly up and see what's happening here.

Fragments of stone are thrown into the melting pot via pipes and those fragments come out as transparent spheres and are transported further via a tube. Under the crucible is a round red valve that covers a red push button. At the top right you see another ventilation duct ...... I call that ventilation duct A. A is now open. Below A is compartment B but that compartment is now closed by a valve. The transparent pipe disappears into compartment B. Fly Helicopter into ventilation duct A and............

In ventilation duct A, 2 PISTONS move up and down like insane madmen. There's no getting through here. However, fly up to piston 1 and ....... both pistons stop moving up and down but they block your passage. Fly back to the left and ..... both pistons resume their insane up and down movements. Those 2 pistons in duct A have to be stopped so that they stay up so that the helicopter can fly further through ductA.

Fly back out of ventilation duct A and then down to the red button that sticks out at the bottom of the Crucible. 

Use the Helicopter tractor beam to open the red lid and ...........

... then press the red push button with Helicopter .... the red button then turns green and ...

....By pressing the red button duct A closes but Compartment B is now open.

So fly into Compartment B .... Move Helicopter in B then up and then to the right and ..... There is a pull button in B.

Pull up the Pull button in B ...... With this you have reversed the 2 pistons in ventilation duct A

Fly B out again and then back to the push button of the Crucible. 

Press the push button again to close Compartment B and open the ventilation duct again

Fly into Ventilation duct A again and ...... The 2 pistons still move up and down like crazy, 

But if you now fly against the front piston, both pistons will remain up and you can continue through the channel with Helicopter .

So fly further to the right and then down and then right out of the ventilation duct.

As soon as you comeout ventilation duct the game will be saved. Go down to the bottom. This is point 13 on the map.

A door and door lever. It gets monotonous, but this door won't open either when you push the lever to the left.

On the right is a thick piece of pipe. Fly to the pipe. It is a short piece of pipe but Heli can't get through because the pipe is closed on the right with a round valve. Above the pipe is a pile of transparent spheres. Fly up to above the transparent spheres and ....... a red Pull button.

NB: You can score a STEAM ACHIEVEMENT here if you are one of those assholes who wants to not only struggle through the game but also score those unnecessary Achievements and then go on STEAM and tell them how good you are . Of course you don't mention that you only get through the game thanks to my walkthrough.......... Balance 2 times for about half an hour, no  I'm just kidding, it only needs 3 minutes, a transparent sphere on top of Helicopter without further movement and you achieve such an unnecessary Achievement. I'm not interested in those Achievements at all and I already told you that at the very beginning of this walkthrough.

Pull the Pull Button up to open the thick pipe and then fly down and into the pipe, which is now open.

So fly through the pipe to the right and ........ Heli then comes out of the pipe and ends up in a transparent tube ...... It is a long straight horizontal tube .... It may be that Helicopter now goes completely automatically, blown by the air flow in the tube,  through the transparent tube, but if that is not the case, then you fly Helicopter yourself further through the tube to the right ........

...Anyway ...... eventually you come out of the transparent tube and .......

You have then arrived at the Ferris wheel and this is point 14 on the map.

Ferris wheel:

Fly Helicopter under the Ferris wheel to the right. You will then see 2 lamps in the gray wall. Between those 2 lamps is the entrance to a pipe system, but that entrance is still closed. Fly further up along the right side of the Ferris wheel and you'll see that here is another door at the top right. There is a door lever in front of the door and a door lever is also behind the door. In the tunnel, behind the door, you also see a battery. That battery is in a holder under the floor.

Push the door lever to the right and the lever turns green but an alarm goes off and well ....... this door will not open either because that battery, the one in the tunnel below the floor, is empty and therefore both door levers are not supplied with power and the door will not open. That battery must be replaced with a new battery. Helicopter has to get to that battery, but because the door won't open, another route has to be taken to get to the battery. Fly back down to the two lamps at the bottom right, and see ..... the two lamps are alarm lamps and the pipe entrancen between the two lamps now has open up. So fly through the opening into the curved pipe and sink down into the pipe and follow the pipe to the right

There are 3 pipes going up, but Helicopter cannot enter those 3 pipes. A thick pipe hangs under the thin pipe.

Fly, via the connecting pipe, down into the thick pipe and then through the thick pipe to the right and ........

...... well ..... the thick pipe spits Helicopter into the Turbine ......

Turbine:

At the bottom, 2 plugs plug into sockets. At the top right is a 3rd plug. Call them plug 1, plug 2, plug 3.....

.... Now go yank, with the tractor beam of Helicopter,  the three plugs from the sockets and ..... 

First plug in plug 1, then plug 2 and finally plug 3, and .....

....... a few smaller explosions then follow .... a maintenance robot appears but it is badly damaged .......

 Helicopter automatically drops to the bottom and ........

....... At the bottom right, a thick pipe explodes and the airflow automatically sucks Helicopter into that thick pipe .....

The airflow in the tube automatically blows Helicopter further through the tube and .......

.... Helicopter is then blown out of the tube and ends up underwater in the:

Pump room:

You regain control of Helicopter when it has landed underwater. Fly up to surface again and then fly further up and ...... A camera appears at a hanging pipe that "looks at" Helicopter. Apparently Helicopter is "approved" because the lid of the camera disappears and the lid of the hanging pipe is then opened .....

Fly into the pipe and then further through the winding pipe....it's a long way through this pipe

The pipe goes up, vertically and then down again, through all kinds of twists, and then the pipe goes through the rock wall and .......

...... you are outside for a while ..... but the pipe then goes back into the rock via the twist and .......

.....After a long right stretch, Helicopter then ends up in the:

Robot regeneration chamber:

Your game is Saved again. The pipe delivered Helicopter in the top part of this Regeneration Chamber. On the protruding bar is a scale and a red pull button. Now don't touch the red pull button because it is for ENDING 2 and I assume you want to experience ENDING 1 first.

Drop down the shaft to the bottom. There's a door on the right and that door will open automatically when you fly towards it. Don't do that yet, but fly to the left. On the left, Helicopter ends up at the Regeneration Capsule. Near the wall is a "Cooking Pot" which is now orange. Above the "cooking pot" is a round hole in the wall. The Capsule and the "Cooking Pot" is for ENDING 1 of the game, but you can't do that right now. Fly through the round hole in the wall ......

You end up in the Side Room ..... 

On a shelf, on the left wall, is a fully charged new Battery. Pick up the Battery with the Traction Beam and continue to hold the battery....

You must now take the battery to the empty battery, in the tunnel behind the door at the Ferris wheel. So while your Helicopter is moving you now also have to keep the tractor beam activated all the time to not lose the Battery. So with the battery, fly back through the round wall hole and then further to the right and to the door. The door will open automatically so go through the open door and then .......

......down through the shaft........

The shaft brings Helicopter into the tunnel behind the Ferris wheel ..... Follow the tunnel to the left .......

..... the last part of the tunnel is round and then brings Helicopter to ......

The battery:

o we are now behind the door that didn't open when you pushed the lever on the other side. .At the other side of the tunnel is the Ferris wheel 

..... The game has SAVED and this is the LAST SAVEPOINT in the game.

Fly to the door and then place the battery near the door but make sure you put the battery upright because it will be easier to place in the battery holder later.

Push the door lever to the door ..... The door will not open.

The empty battery is placed in the holder under the floor. There are 4 tiles above the empty battery. You have to lift those 4 tiles with Helicopter's tractor beam and then slide to the right to get to the battery holder. The pictures below explain how best to move the 4 tiles.

First move tile 1, then tile 2, then tile 3 and .......

....... finally move tile 4 to the right.

Then pull the empty battery out of the holder and then throw the empty battery somewhere in the tunnel.

Pick up the new battery and place the battery in the holder and ........

.....as soon as you have put the new battery in the battery holder, the door will open.....

So fly through the now open door to the Ferris wheel.

We are now going to do the Endings ...... The game has 2 Endings. You can experience both Endings. The game has just created a Savepoint for the last time and therefore you can play both Endings because you can load that Savepoint after one ending to go play the other ending.
