For this walkthrough I play the Director's Cut version of the game.
This Director's Cut version has 2 different Endings but otherwise it is the same as the first version
Book 2: The Burden of Thanatos:
Part 1: Domain of Hades
Hades is the God of the Underworld and his sidekick is Thanatos. Thanatos is The Dead, also known as The Grim Reaper.
You are on a 4-way crossroad of forest paths. You can go straight, right, left and back to Pegasus.
Straight on you come to Thanatos. The right path goes to the Temple of Hades, the Cyclops and the Witches. Turning left takes you to the Fireplace
Fireplace
When you are in the middle of the crossroad, turn left. In the distance you can see the Fireplace in a clearing in the forest and there are two shelters. On the right side of the path is a farmer who was mowing the grass with his rake or scythe. Go tickle that farmer. Calliope has some comments as usual.
Continue to the two shelters. Below the left shelter are a few large cube-shaped stones and there's a note on those stones
Under the right shelter is the Fireplace and a heap of dirt containing a Shovel.
Walk to the stones, under the left shelter, then pick up the note. View the note in inventory. Calliope then reads what is written on it
The parchment tells you what to do to make a fire here
Go to the right shelter. Under the right shelter you will find the Firepit and a heap of dirt. A Shovel sticks in the dirt
View the Fireplace. There is still a pile of ash in it. You can't do anything with the fire pit yet because you don't have the stuff yet.
Go to the dirtheap, and then take the Shovel, which sticks into the dirtheap
We will come back here later to light a fire to make coal. Walk back to the crossroad
Thanatos:
Then turn left so that you look back at the path to Thanatos. On the right side are 2 petrified men.
Walk to those 2 petrifiedmen and click on it. The left man is falconer Butes and his mate is Idas, a great warrior
Follow the path further. The path then bends to the left and ...... Ooooo .... So that's Thanatos? ... hot guy though
Thanatos is a Demon and he blocks the tunnel to the realm of Hephaestus.
Approach Thanatos and ....... Thanatos stops you. Listen to what he says.
Only Hades, god of the realm of the dead, can allow Argonus to pass through here. You can try clicking on the demon with your hand or approaching it again. But Thanatos simply does not step aside. Turn around and run back to the crossroad, then turn left. We're going to go find Hades now, so go down that path and follow it to the stairs
Descend the stairs and ........
At the bottom of the stairs you will see the Temple of Hades right in front of you.
There are 2 petrified figures standing by, and with that couple there is also a forest path further into the forest. Go take a look at that petrified couple.
Behind the petrified couple is a column on the ground and behind that column is a kneeling man who you can also view
Follow the path further to the Temple and enter. Hades stand petrified on his stage. Just before Hades, the white Owl sits on the boulder.
The White Owl is Athena. You can click on it a few times. Just before the block where the owl sits, there is also such a transport Stone in the floor
Stand directly in front of Hades and then left click on his face ...... Hades is not interested in Argonus at all and simply remains petrified
Apparently Hades doesn't find Argonus worthy enough to pay him any attention, well.....fuck him....
Cyclops
Leave the temple and walk back to the stairs, near the petrified pair. At the stairs you turn right into the forest
Follow this forest path. You cross a stream and then ....
... the forest path turns left, but in the bend there is a clearing and there are two huge Cyclopes, one-eyed giants, standing there.
The petrified Philias is sitting here on a tree trunk.
The left Cyclops is just a teenager and he is petrified. However, his father is very much alive and he will not allow you to approach his son
Okay ... okay ... then not. Step back quickly because you won't win it from such a one-eyed giant.
Witches:
Turn left and follow the forest path further to the river
Follow the river bank and ......
.. then you reach the Witches Cave. At the back of the cave are the 3 Witches by the fire
Continue to the 3 Witches and ........
The witches do not appreciate your visit and you become unconscious and ......
When you come back to the world you notice that you are back at the beginning of the forest path, at the petrified pair in front of the stairs.
Run back to Hades in his temple and look up at his face again. Now you get the Hand Circle on Hades. Right click and ......
Apparently Hades has been watching you because your "meeting" with the 3 Witches suddenly makes that he's now you interested in you
Listen to what Hades says
Hades wants you to steal an Orb for him, and that Orb is owned by the Witches. It's the all-seeing Eye of the witches
To make sure you can approach the Witches unseen, Hades gives you a Helm that makes you invisible
You are now wearing the helm. Look at the thing in inventory
The helm makes you invisible to the Cyclops and the Witches. Go back to the two Cyclops.
Because of the helm you are now invisible so now walk past daddy Cyclop to the petrified son and click on him.
Behind the two Cyclops is the River and there you can view a Stone Head.
Return to the forest path and follow it back to the river and then along the river to the 3 Witches.
Continue to the 3 Witches. The Witches don't see you now and they keep staring at their fire.
If you walk past the witches on the left side, you can view their belongings behind the witches and click on them. Then stand in front of the witches again and look down at the fire. Open the inventory and then drag the Pouch containing the Sleeping Powder to the fire and click it on the hand and ....
.. Argonus throws the sleeping powder in the fire and ......
.. the 3 witches fall to the ground unconscious and ...... the All-Seeing Eye of the Witches lies on the ground ...
This mutial Eye of the Witches is the Orb that Hades likes
Grab the Orb
View the Orb in inventory
You must now return to Hades to give him the Orb. Because you have not yet done the route from the Witches yourself, you now follow the bank of the river back until you reach the place where you start the path through the forest again. Follow the forest path back to the stairs.
You can then try whether the Helm also makes you invisible to Thanatos.
So climb back up to the crossroad via the stairs and then follow the boaspad back to Thanatos. Walk on to the Fiery Demon and .....
Unfortunately ...... Thanatos is not tricked by the helm and he tells you again that only Hades can order him to let you through.
Return to Hades in his temple. Stand in front of the Divine Deity again and look up again to get the Hand back on his face.
Then drag the Orb from the Inventory to the Hand and click and .....
Argonus takes off the helm and offers the Orb to Hades. Hades now shows Argonus a vision of the Gorgons, via the Orb
Vision of the Gorgons:
The two Gorgons are those two "snake girls" that you saw just before Athena appeared to you in the Poseidon Domain.
The Gorgoon with the purple hair is Stheno and her sister, with the orange hair, is Eurydle. Well ... look, listen and shudder.
Stheno is consumed by her hatred of Athena and she is, I think, responsible for the Plague ....
Eurydle tries unsuccessfully to change Stheno's mind but eventually she obeys her sister.
After this, Hades goes back to sleep and the Orb is lying on the floor in front of your feet. Pick up the Orb again
Open the Map then click on the circle at Hades's Temple and then listen to Argon read from his diary about the Witches and the Two Gorgons
Put the Map away and return to Thanatos. So leave the temple and climb back up the stairs to the crossroads at the fireplace.
On the way you will hear Calliope. At the crossroads, turn right again and follow the path to:
Thanatos
Continue until the fiery Demon and ......
Thanatos wakes up and is now ordered by his boss Hades to let Argonus through.
The guardian of the Dead does not like this because in fact it means his resignation ... Thanatos now turnes your right hand into a Fire Hand
With your Fire Hand you are meant to liberate the Souls of ALL Petrified People from now on, so they can ascend to the Kingdom of Hades.
With a huge blow Thanatos then disappears and the tunnel is now open
Open the Map and click on the Thanatos circle and listen again to Argonus who will read about his meeting with Thanatos.
Put the map away again and then run to the tunnel and then up the stairs and ........
When Argonus climbs the bottom staircase, Athena reappears ......
Listen to Athena who is very satisfied with what Argonus has achieved so far.
Athena then disappears again. Climb further up and .... there will be another Loading and then .......
.... we have arrived in a new area
Domain of Hephaestus
Hephaestus is the God of the Blacksmiths and the Fire, He is also the Blacksmith of the Gods and he has a Hammer. Hephaestus is also known as Vulcan. Opinions differ as to whether Hephaestus was the son of Zeus and Hera or only the son of Hera
Village:
We are still in Book 2, but that is about to change. We are in a village. Those annoying Harpies of Zeus also fly around here and they keep a close eye on Argonus. Thanatos has made a fire hand of Argonus' right hand. From now on you are supposed to free the souls from all petrified people and argonauts from their petrified bodies to send them to the Kingdom of the Dead. To do this you stand in front of such a petrified figure so that you get the circle with the open hand on it. Then right click to use the Fire Hand of Argonus and ... the soul of the petrified person will come out of the petrified body and disappear to the Dead Kingdom
You look through the "street" of the village, which consists of only a few houses. There are houses left and right. The Harpies fly around here in the air.
Turn left. Under a shelter is a petrified woman
Walk to the shelter and get the hand on the petrified woman. Then right click and ......
With his right Fire Hand, Argonus frees the woman's soul from the petrified body. You can see her soul rising vaguely
Turn right and walk to the stone man standing at the entrance of the left house and make sure you see the Hand on him again
Right click again to free the soul of the man with your Fire Hand
Enter the house. Downstairs you can view the wooden cart in the left doorway. Then go through the right door opening to the back room
On the table in the middle of the room is a Drachma Coin. Take the Coin. There is a Letter on the table in the back corner. Take the Letter
Read the Letter in inventory, Calliope reads the letter out loud. The note tells about a Beast who likes gold stuff
Leave this house. Go to the cottages across the street. There is nothing to be found in the low right house, but feel free to look inside.
There is a passage between the two houses and there is a Man and a child. Walk to the man and the child
Free the souls of the man and then of the child with your Fire Hand
Then walk under the roof to the rear and then turn left. A sheep grazes behind the upper left house. Zoom in on the sheep
Make sure you have the Hand on the sheep. Open the inventory and then drag the Sword to the hand and click and ....
. .....Argonus cut a piece of wool from the sheep
In inventory you can see that the wool is immediately attached to your Tinder (flint) box
Go back to the front of the house and go upstairs to the upstairs room. In the corner of the upper room is a chest
Zoom in on the chest. The chest is locked with a simple lock but you do not have a key or other tools to open the chest
Back outside and via the outside stairs back to the street. A woman is sitting in front of the house. Go free her soul through your Fire Hand
Then enter the downstairs room of the house. Walk to the table. On the table is a hammer and pliers. Take the hammer and pliers
Hammer and pliers are indispensable for a blacksmith. View them in inventory
Go outside and cross the street again to the shelter that on to the right side of the house.
There is a guy under the shelter and as soon as you approach him the game tells you that you have entered Book 3
