Chapter 2: Back to the Light:

Castle:

Samuel has a nightmare and then wakes up. It's the next morning. We see Bates walking to Samuel's door and knocking. Samuel leaves his room and in the hallway Bates tells that Henry, the gardener, has been found in the Fountain. Henry has drowned and Inspector Collier has been alerted and he now wants to speak to Samuel in the sitting room. We then end up in the sitting room where Collier interrogates Samuel.

The inspector dismisses Henry's death as an accident. After all, Henry was completely drunk and, according to Collier, most likely fell with his drunken head into the fountain and drowned there without waking up. We are then outside the front door in the pouring rain. The inspector has left.

Now that Henry the gardener has passed away, Samuel might start looking for that pawn certificate Henry said he no longer had. You're about to get soaking wet anyway, so let's go to the Kas. Go, via the bottom left or bottom right, to the outside stairs and go down these stairs again. Then click again in the gate, right behind the stairs to get to the greenhouse and enter the greenhouse.

In the greenhouse, on the left, is the work table. There are two drawers in the table.

Open the left drawer and, in the close-up, click on the items that are in the drawer.

The pawn certificate is not included. Close the close-up and open the right drawer

In this right drawer is a Bottle and a Metal Box. Click on the bottle. It probably contains an alcoholic beverage. Click on the Metal Box, but it is locked. Close close up. Exit the greenhouse and return to the stairs. Go back up the stairs. At the top of the castle you go, via the middle right, to the "right  Wing", so you actually go along the side of the castle. You will then come back behind the castle at the "Dead Tree". Click on the thick roots of the tree to go to the "Backyard".

You're at the fountain again.

Leftclick in the pond of the fountain. Samuel wonders how on earth it is possible that Henry drowned in this pond when he was completely entangled in the weeds. Then rightclick in the pond. There's something at the bottom of the pond and it glistens. To find out what this is, the water must be pumped out of the pond. To the left of the pond is a large rain puddle. Search the ground above the rain puddle for a "Footprint". Click on the footprint. It's a fresh print. Go back into the castle through the dining room door and then to the Great Hall and exit through the front door. Go to the stable. Enter the stable and talk to Morris who is working at the workbench.

Talk to Morris about "Henry". Morris has found Henry dead in the pond last night. Use the "Water Well" topic. Samuel asks if Morris has already boarded up the well. He hasn't yet and Samuel gets mad at Morris again. Through the "Footprint" topic you find out that Morris overheard a conversation between Dr. Hermann and Inspector Collier.

Exit the stable and return to the front door and re-enter the castle. Go to Robert's study

Click on the door and ask Robert about the "Inspector" and then about his "Job"

Robert says he is busy with some research and he promises to talk to Samuel about it tomorrow. Tonight, however, Robert will be in Ashbury.

Go back down and go to the library side of the main hall. Victoria is sitting on the sofa, next to the fireplace. Talk to Victoria about "Dr. Hermann".

You experience that Hermann does not live in Willow Creek but in a cottage near the old mill. Go through the dining room to the kitchen.

When you enter the kitchen you will see that the cellar door is now open.

So go through the cellar door to the:

Cellar

In the middle of the cellar is the old well. There are some wine barrels that you can click on. Click on the well.

It is rumored that there are very old tunnels running under the castle and that the well is the entrance to these tunnels.

Continue to the right. Bates is here and he's working on a grinder. Talk to Bates.

Ask Bates about the "Fountain". Bates talks about the large pump that takes care of the water management of the castle. Ask Bates about "Henry", the "Inspector", and about "Bates". During this conversation you will also get 2 other subjects and those are "Hermann" and "Morris". So use these two subjects as well.

After this conversation with Bates, click in the gate behind Bates to go to the "Back Part" of the cellar. You will then see the large pumping machine in motion on the right side of your screen. There is a box on the left in front of the pump. It is the "Pump Control", click it

. You enter the close-up of this box. Samuel has no idea what to do with this and you automatically leave the close-up.

Go back to Bates at the well.

Talk to Bates again. Ask Bates about the "Pump". Listen to his explanation.

Then go back to the pump and click on the "Pump control box" again.

The Pump Puzzle

You see 4 water meters. Above every meter a skull. A dial under each meter, except under the third.

So that is the broken valve and this meter is for the fountain.

First number the 4 water meters, from left to right, as 1, 2, 3, 4 and name the 3 wheels, also from left to right, A, B, C.

This puzzle is different every time, so I can't tell you in which order you have to click on the 3 wheels exactly to get the 3rd water meter completely empty. Save your game first, so that you can return to the starting position of this pump puzzle if you  fuck it up. You can click on each of the three wheels with your left mouse button, but also with your right mouse button. Each of the three wheels raises or lowers the water level in one or several meters at a time. So you first have to find out what happens in the meters when you click on wheel A, B or C.

So leftclick both and rightclick on the 3 wheels and see what  happening....note down what you see. So remember in which meters the water rises or falls when you click wheel A, B or C. If you can no longer leftclick on a wheel then rightclick on a wheel. The wheel then turns the other way. Once you have figured out how the wheels raise and lower the water in the 4 meters, you must make sure that Meter 3 gets completely empty. If you have meter 3 completely empty, Samuel says it is "Good" and the fountain pond has been pumped empty.

Again, I can't tell you on, and what order to click on the 3 reels. This is different in every game. If you have solved this puzzle correctly, you go back to the "Front Part" of the basement. Then walk all the way to the left and click in the entrance to the cellar and you will return to the kitchen. Go to the dining room and then through the door on the left and out into the backyard.

The fountain pond is now empty. Leftclick in the fountain again. Hela…..that glittering object is no longer there.

Now look closely at the wall of the fountain, just in front of the statue. You will see a Red Circle on it.

Click on this Red Circle. It's a symbol and you get into the close-up.

Click on the red symbol. You also saw this symbol on the wall of the tower in chapter 1.

There is a key on the right, so first take that  key. It will disappear to your inventory.

Then take your camera from your inventory and click it on the Red Symbol. Samuel takes another picture of it.

Go back to the Greenhouse. Enter the greenhouse again and click on the right drawer of the work table again.

Take the "Fountain Key" from your inventory and click it on the metal box to unlock it Then click the box to open it.

There are some coins in the chest on the right. Click on the coins. Samuel tells you that the pawn certificate is not in this box either. On the left side of the box is a Letter. Click on the letter to take and read it.  It's an anonymous letter and it's addressed to Victoria. The letter accuses Morris of being a convicted thief and of still stealing. Henry blackmailed Morris with this letter.

Close close up. Leave the greenhouse and go, via the stairs and the main entrance, to the stable. Enter the stable again and talk to Morris again.

Use the "Blackmail" topic. Morris confesses that he stole a few bottles of wine from the cellar. Samuel then gives the blackmail letter to Morris. Go back into the castle through the front door and go to Victoria who is still sitting on the sofa in the main hall, next to the fireplace. Click Victoria. However, Victoria does not want to talk to Samuel and refers him to Robert. Go to Robert's study  and talk to Robert about "Victoria". Robert promises to talk to Victoria tonight. Go to Bates in the cvllar and talk to Bates about the "Letter from Henry". Bates knew about the wine theft by Morris. Then use the "Morris" topic. Bates thinks Morris is all right. After this, right-click on your map and travel back to Willow Creek

Willow Creek:

Talk to the fisherman on the jetty. The fisherman does not have much to say. Go "to the pub".

Do not enter the pub yet. First talk to Vick who is sitting on the keg.

You don't get subjects. Harry has informed Vick's father of Vick's "vandalism" and Vick is now afraid to go home.

Then enter the pub. It's busy in the pub. Outside Harry, the bartender, Tom, Mark and the gravedigger are in the pub.

Talk to all these 4 men about "Henry". You experience that Henry could be found in the pub every day. But the gravedigger says that, last night, he met Henry on the road just before Henry died, and that Henry was completely sober. Leave the pub and go over the bridge to the other side of the river.

Murray's Pawn shop:

Click on the door of Murray's pawn shop and you will enter. Go talk to Murray, the owner behind the counter.

Talk to Murray about the "Rune stone". So that's that rock that Henry found and pawned here. However, Samuel needs Henry's pledge certificate. You get the two masks. Give the positive answer. However, it doesn't matter how much money Samuel wants to pay Murray, without the pledge certificate he won't get the stone. Continue with the "Movie Developer" topic. Murray can't develop your photos because his developing machine is broken. The conversation is then over.

Open your inventory and right click on your map. Because Victoria told you about Dr. Hermann, this house is now on the map.

So travel to the house of Dr. Hermann.

House of dr. Hermann

Upon arrival, you see that Dr. Hermann  throws something into the large dumpster to the left of the house.

Hermann greets Samuel and takes him inside and to the morgue in the basement.

Cozy place. Henry's body is on the dissecting table. Your conversation topics appear.

Ask Hermann about "William". Hermann says that he has found severe burns on William's chest and that these burns were caused by an "unknown object". Ask further about "Henry". You find out that there is a package that contains Henry's personal belongings, which he had in his pockets at the time of his death. Hermann refuses to let you see these personal belongings. Ask about the "Footprint". Hermann assumes that the footprint is from Morris and then he says something strange. He has not found a drop of blood in Henry's body. According to Hermann, Henry bled out completely. There is not a drop of blood left in Henry's corpes, and that is actually not possible at all. Hermann believes that it is therefore impossible for Henry to have drowned, but he has not yet found  any evidence that Henry died violently.

You have now also received the "Bribery" topic. So try to bribe Hermann.

However, Hermann gets pissed off and throws you out of the house.

So you are back outside in the pouring rain. To the left of the house is the large garbage container.

Click on the garbage container. Samuel walks over and tries to open the container. However, the container is locked with a large padlock. In front of the garbage container stand a dustbin. Click on the dustbin There is a shredded letter on the bin and Samuel picks up the shreds and puts them in his pocket. Open your inventory and scroll, via the arrow, to the right and then right-click on the "Torn Letter". You come into the close-up.

Torn Letter Puzzle:

You have to puzzle the letter fragments back into a complete letter. It works exactly the same as with the torn photo in Chapter 1. So click on a snippet to pick it up and drag it to another place. With your right mouse button you can rotate the chips. So puzzle the letter together. It's best to turn the snippets firs so that you can read what's written on the snippets. That way it's easier to put the snippets toghetter.

When you have placed the last piece in the letter, the letter will be read aloud.

The letter is apparently addressed to Dr. Hermann, but who is the "R"?

Willow Creek:

Travel, via the map, back o Willow Creek. Go to the Three Kegs pub and enter. Talk to Harry, the bartender, about "Mark". According to Harry, Mark is quite reliable if you give him some money. So go talk to Mark and talk to him about "Hermann". Samuel offers Mark money to help lure Hermann out of the basement of his house. However, Mark is not in the mood for it. Your masks appear. Click on the "Positive" mask. Samuel then offers Mark 10 pounds, but Mark is still not willing. Samuel then offers Mark 20 pounds and Mark is willing to do it for this.

You will now automatically return to the house of Dr. Hermann. You automatically ring the doorbell and go inside and through to the basement and you have a chat with Hermann. During this conversation, the doorbell rings and Hermann disappears upstairs.

There is a desk against the back wall and there are drawers in that desk. Click on the top drawer

Samuel walks towards it and you come in the close-up of the opened drawer.

In the drawer on the right side is a "Piece of plastic with print", take it and it will disappear to your inventory.

Close close up. To the left of the desk is a shelving unit against the wall. On one of the shelves of this shelving unit is a "Box". Click on that Box

That box contains Henry's personal belongings and Samuel now finds Henry's pledge certificate in it and this also disappears to your inventory. Click on the dissecting table for a close-up of Henry's corpse. You can't do anything with it, so close the close-up again. The two sinks hang on the wall, left behind the dissecting table. Under the sinks is a pair of blue jerry. Click on these jerry cans

So Hermann developed his own photos.

NB: It is important to click on these jerry cans. If you forget this, you can never get your photos developed.

To the left of the left sink hangs a Bunch of Keys on the tile wall. Click on this key. One of the keys to this bunch of keys could well be the key for the padlock of the garbage container. But Samuel does not dare to take the key because Hermann will surely notice that the key is gone. Open your inventory and take out the "Piece of plastic with print" and click on the keys. Samuel takes a print of the key.

Now travel back to Willow Creek via your map and enter the pub. Talk to Harry about "making a key". Harry says that Mark is the right man for this. So talk to Mark about "making a key". Mark wants to do this and says that you should come back in an hour. Then use the "Mark" topic. Mark gets a little angry and the conversation comes to an abrupt end and you're back outside. Cross the bridge across the river and enter Murray's pawn shop. Talk to Murray and use the "Pledge" topic. Murray goes to get Henry's stone and gives it to Samuel.

Open your inventory. Scroll through your inventory to the right and leftclick on the stone (foreign object) you just obtained. Youpick up this stone,  scroll through your inventory to your own "Strange Object". Click Henry's stone on your stone and you have combined both. Only the Ruby is still missing. Exit the pawnshop and return to the pub. Enter the pub and talk to Harry again and ask him about "Mark". However, Mark has not yet returned. Travel via your map back to the House of Dr. Hermann Click on the doorbell, right next to the front door. You ring the bell and report to Hermann via the intercom. You automatically enter the hall. On the left of your screen is the gate to the basement.

Click there and you will end up in the morgue again. Talk to dr. Hermann and ask him about "Developing the film". Hermann would like to do this for you, but he no longer has a developer. Samuel must get a bottle of developer from Murray in Willow Creek. So travel back to Willow Creek. First go back into the pub and ask Harry if Mark has come by yet. But Mark hasn't shown himself yet. So go outside and across the bridge to Murray's pawn shop. Go in and ask Murray about the "Fixing Salt". You get a bottle of Fixing Salt from Murray.  Go back to the pub and enter it again. Ask Harry about "Mark" again. Mark stopped by and handed over the key to Harry. Harry will now give you the garbage container key. Travel, via the map, back to the House of dr. Hermann. Click on the garbage container again to make Samuel go there. Then take the "Key of the garbage container" from your inventory and click it on the container.

Samuel opens the padlock. Click on the container again and it will now open and you are in the close-up.

Bah, what a stench and what a filth. On the right side of the container is a "Bag". Click on the bag.

Left in front of the bag are "Clothes". Click on the clothes. Samuel takes the clothes from the container.

Close the close-up and dive into your inventory. Scroll to the "Clothes of Henry" and right click on it. You feel that something is hidden in the clothes. Scroll back through your inventory to the black tower chess piece. Right click on it to pop out the little blade. Then click with the black tower on Henry's clothes and you get the ruby out of it. Now click this ruby on the "Strange Object" to place the ruby in it. Click the doorbell next to the front door and you will go back inside. Go through the gate to the basement and talk to Hermann. Use the "Fixing Salt" topic.

Samuel gives the fixing salt to Hermann. However, Hermann is not going to develop your photos right away.

You must now allow some time to pass. So just travel back to the Castle via your map.

Go upstairs and to Robert's study. Knock on Robert's door and talk to Robert about Henry.

Samuel asks Robert if it is possible to completely bleed out a human body. Robert says that this is not possible, some blood will always remain in the body. Robert asks why you want to know this. Give Robert a positive answer. Robert's disinterest in Henry's death is starting to get really strange.

Travel back to The House of Dr. Hermann. Ring the doorbell again and when you are back inside, go to the basement. Talk to Hermann again about "developed photos". Hermann hasn't developed your photos yet. Travel, via your map, to Willow Creek, enter the pub and pop into Murray's as well. You won't be able to help anyone questions but the idea is that some time will pass, then return to the House of dr. Hermann. Ring the doorbell again and go to the basement and ask Hermann about the "Developed Photos" again. If all has go well, Hermann has now developed your photos and says he has put them on the sinks.

NB: If Hermann hasnot yet developed your photos now , then travel back and forth between the Castle and Hermann and between Hermann and Willow Creek.

Your developed photos are now on the left sink. Click on them and Samuel puts them in William's Diary.

Open your inventory and right-click on William's Diary. You enter the close-up of the diary.

Click on the arrow on the right to scroll to the last two pages. The two photos are pasted on the left page.

Samuel says that the two circles are identical but that the two symbols in are different in the middle and draw them.

Close close up. Open your map and travel to:

Warmhill Vicarage:

Enter the church through the side door. In the background you see a gate with a fence. Click on that gate. It is the entrance to the old bell tower but the gate is closed. Go, via the bottom left, to the "Back Part" of the church hall. You come to the next screen and are then in the middle part of the church. There is a path between the two rows of benches leading back to the altar. Click on this path to go to the Altar. You will then come to Father Frederick.  Father Frederick is talking to a woman sitting in the pew. Although it is rude to disturb someone in a conversation, click Father Frederick anyway.

Talk to the Father about: "William". The "Church", your "Foreign Object", "Marcus" and the "Confession".

After asking about all these topics you will get the "Clock (Belfry) Tower" topic.

Use this too and Father Frederick will take you through the locked gate into the old:

Belfry tower:

You can click on it a few times. To the left of the large gate is a window. Between the large gate and dart window you see a corner pillar. A white candle burns on this corner pillar. Under the white burning candle is a "Round Opening" in the pillar. There is a "Carpet" on the floor in front of this pillar. In the foreground you see a wooden open gate. To the left of this gate hangs a "rope". The gate itself is the Exit "Follow the Stairs".

Click on the "Opening", which is in the pillar under the candle. Samuel walks over and says the shape of the opening matches the "stone object". Click on the opening again. Samuel says he has to do "something" with it. Click on the opening for the third time. Now Samuel says the shape matches the "Foreign Object". So now take the "Strange Object" from your inventory and click it on the opening.

NB: You can only click the "Foreign Object" on the opening in the pillar if you have first clicked on the opening 3 times. If you forget to do this, you will not be able to click the foreign object onto the opening. Your foreign object must also be completely assembled, so the two stones must be joined together and the ruby must be inside.

Once you have done this, a hexagonal altar will rise from the floor. Click on this altar.

You come into the close-up. Samuel says that William describes this altar in his diary.

The Altar puzzle:

On the altar you see a cross. In the center of the cross is a Red Stone. In the "Horizontal arm" of the cross are black stones with a whiteStone on both ends. There are two empty holes both above and below. In the "Vertical arm" of the cross are white stones and at both ends is a blackStone.

Samuel has said that William described this cross in his diary. So go in your inventory and open William's diary. The diary probably opens to the last two pages with the two photos. Then scroll back twice, using the arrow on the left. You will then see this cross drawn. So William has already given you the solution to this puzzle in his diary. You have to exchange the 6 Black and the 6 White stones. The Black Stones must be in the verticale arm and the White Stones in the horizontal arm and the red stone must be in the middle

So you have to move the stone to an empty hole. You do this by clicking on a stone and then click on the empty hole next to, below or above, the stone. You can only move a stone one hole at a time. It's not a very difficult puzzle. Start with the stones in the horizontal arm, at the empty holes. Make sure you can finally put the Red Stone back in the middle. As soon as you get this puzzle right you will hear a sound and you will automatically exit the close-up.

Samuel then turns and looks at the rug on the floor in front of him. Click on the carpet. Samuel lifts the carpet, revealing a stairwell.

The stairs go down. Click on the stairs and you go down and end up in the:

Cellar:

It's a bit dark down here. So stay where you are. Next to Samuel you see another "Opening" in the pillar. Click on the opening.

Samuel says that this is the same kind of opening as above. So click, left, on the stairs to go back up. At the top, click again on the Opening in the pillar to extract your "Strange Object" again.  Go back down the stairs and when you come back down, place the "Strange Object" in the opening.

Your screen will turn black for a moment and then the basement is lit.

The Book Riddles puzzle

In the great Arch niche is a round platform. There are 4 large stands on which a book is placed. 2 of the stand are left and right in the arch and the other two are behind the platform on the left and right. There are also 4 small round pillars. These are in front of and behind the round platform. Each pillar is "linked" to the book it stands for. In the back wall is a large plaque with "Engraved Lettering" on it. Just click on it and Samuel will read aloud what is written on it. Okay, let's number the 4 books and the 4 pillars first.

Number the books as follows: Front left = Book 1, Front right = Book 2, Back left = Book 3, Back right = Book 4.

Number the pillars as follows: Front left = A, Front right = B, Back left = C, Back right = D.

Pillar A belongs to Book 1. Pillar B belongs to Book 2. Pillar C belongs to Book 3. Pillar D belongs to Book 4.

Click on Book 1 (front left). You come into the close-up. There is a riddle written on the left page.

Click on the left pageand Samuel will read it aloud

On the right page you see a clue to the answer to this riddle, a monk talking to two men. Close close up. Now click on Pillar A. You will enter the close-up. Pillar A has 4 discs on which you see letters. By clicking on the discs you rotate them. What to do now. Well, you have to make the answer to the riddle of Book 1 on this pillar. You do this by turning the correct letters, per disc, under the skull. What is the answer to the riddle of book 1? That is of course an ECHO. Number the 4 discs, from top to bottom, as 1, 2, 3, 4 and

Turn disc 1 until you have the E under the skull.
Turn disk 2 until you have the C under the skull.
Turn disc 3 until you have the H under the skull.
Turn disc 4 until you have the O under the skull.

As soon as you have done this correctly, you will automatically leave the close-up and pillar A will sink into the ground.

Click on Book 2 (front right). Click on the right page to hear the riddle. " black when purchased, red when used, gray when disposed of". As a hint you see a woman who tries to fan the fire in the oven with a blow bar. Well, the answer is: Coal. Close the close-up and click on Pillar B. Pillar B therefore has 5 turntables. Use the 5 turntables, from top to bottom, to make the word: COAL.

This pillar also sinks into the floor.

Click on Book 3 (Back left) and read the riddle: "The more you take away, the bigger it gets". As a hint you see a dark window niche.

The answer is of course: HOLE. Close the close-up and click on Pillar C and use the 3 turntables to make the word: HOLE.

This pillar also sinks into the ground.

Click on Book 4 (Back right) and read the riddle: "Cities without houses, rivers without water, forests without trees"

The hint is a globe and a map. So the answer is: MAP, both in Dutch and in English.

Close the close-up and click on Pillar D. This also has 3 disks, so make the word: MAP.

This last pillar also sinks into the ground and, in the middle of the platform, the Tomb of Marcus Gordon now rises.Click on the Stone Tomb. Samuel slides the lid off the tomb. Click on the tomb again. You get into the close-up and Marcus Gordon's skeleton grins at you.

Between the ribs of the skeleton lies a key. Grab the key. It is the 1st of the "5 Symbolic Keys" reported by William in his diary.

At the bottom of your screen is a book in the tomb. Click on the book. You come into a close-up again. Listen to the story. It's quite long again.

You hear about "Secret passages, the Black Mirror, about Mordred and Marcus Gorden, about a maze and about an underground church. And you learn about the Curse of Modred". When the story is over, close the close-up. The book ends up in your inventory, so you can always listen to the story again. Close close-up of the tomb.

At the bottom of your screen you see  a large candlestick lying on the floor.

Leftclick on that candlestick....... Samuel says he can't take it. Then right click on this candlestick

A rat crawls out. Look at the rat. The rat walks to the right and then pauses to wash itself. Then it continues to the right and then disappears from the screen. Now place your arrow on the heap of stones at the bottom right of the screen. Your arrow will turn red there, so click on this suspicious spot. Samuel now walks all the way to the right and disappears from sight. You then hear a lot of noise and you hear Samuel scream. He hurtles down through a hole and ends up in the:

Mine:

So Samuel is now even deeper underground and in a dimly lit room. You vaguely see an opening, right in front of Samuel.

Now keep the arrow on Samuel. Your arrow turns red. Click on Samuel and he walks to the wall and finds a "Valve". Click on this Valve a few times.

After 3 clicks the valve will be stuck. To the right of Samuel you see a kind of lever box on the wall. Click on that box.

It is a 3 lever mechanism. Click on this "Mechanism". You enter the 3 Levers puzzle: This is a pretty simple puzzle. I don't really know if this is different in every game, but it was like this for me. You see 3 levers, Left, Middle, Right. And you will see an On/Off button. With me, the Left and Middle Levers are all the way up and the Right Lever is in the middle.

By clicking on a lever you click the lever 1 position down or up. Click on the handles and arrange them like this:

Left handle in the middle. Center lever all the way down. Right lever all the way up. Click the On/Off button

You now have light in this room. Samuel immediately goes to pick up all his things that he lost during his fall through the hole. Unfortunately, your camera is now broken. There are two gates. The right gate is open, but you can't go through it. The left gate is closed with a gate and a thick electric cable is swabbing in front of it. Stay away from this cable. If you touch the cable, Samuel dies and it's GAME OVER.

There are shelves on the wall in the back room. On the bottom shelf stand a metal box. Click on the metal box

Samuel takes a Wire Cutter from the metal box. A rope hangs over the fence, in front of the planks. Grab the rope.

Now click on that On/Off button next to the 3 levers again. You switch off the power again and it is dark again.

Take the wire cutter from your inventory and now click with it on that cable,  dangling in front of the left gate.

Samuel cuts a large piece of the cable. Click the On/Off button again to turn the light back on. The electrical cable is now gone.

Leftclick on the fence in the left gate, the gate is locked. Rightclick on the fence to hear Samuel say the key is on the other side.

Take the wire cutter from your inventory again and click it on the fence.

Samuel cuts a hole in the fence. You have now lost the wire cutter. Leftclick on the gate again.

Samuel reaches through the hole and grabs the key.

Open your inventory again and scroll to the right and take out the key and click on the fence with it. Samuel opens the gate now.

Click on the gate again and you will now leave this room and end up in the:

Mine tunnel:

Examine the screen carefully again. Behind Samuel to the left are chests that are of no further importance.

Further to the left you will see a pile of rubble under the front lamp. A rod sticks out of this pile of rubble. Grab the Rod

To the left of the pile of rubble is a Skeleton on the floor. Click on the Skeleton. Samuel then picks up old clothes and puts it in the inventory. There is a collapse in the next tunnel, so you can't continue there. Behind the rails is a large barrel. Click on this barrel.  Behind the barrel hangs another lamp and under this lamp is the Switchboard. Click on the Switchboard,  but it's locked. Open your inventory and right click on the black tower chess piece to get the blade out again. Then take the black tower piece from your inventory and click it on the Switchboard.

Samuel opens up the switchboard. Click it again. It's a fuse box.

However, Samuel does not want to do anything with it now. Note that you can keep clicking on this box.

The exit is now also visible on the left. So click that exit and you will "proceed to the tunnel" and you will reach the:

Elevator shaft:

You are now in  a larger room and here is the elevator shaft. However, the elevator is not there. Let's find the click spots again first. There are two ports. Samuel stands in front of the right gate. The left gate is the entrance to the Machine Room. In front of Samuel is a Minecart on the rails. To the left of the minecart is a Rusty Container. A barrel stand in front of the elevator shaft. There is also a click spot in the elevator shaft.

The barrel is full of oil. This barrel is on a hatch (lid) and this hatch is now available as a click spot, so click on the hatch where the barrel is on. Then click on the barrel again. Samuel tries to push the barrel over but the barrel is too heavy. Take the rod from your inventory and click it on the barrel.

Samuel pokes a hole in the barrel and through this the oil runs out of the barrel and then Samuel pushes the barrel off the hatch.

The hatch is now a "Trap Door". Click on the trap door. However, it is locked. Now go through the left gate to the Machine Room. There is a very large machine in the Machine Room. However, Samuel does not know how to turn on the machine and he refuses to do so. Go back to the elevator shaft room via the bottom left. Back at the elevator shaft, walk to the trapdoor. Then take the rope from your inventory and click it on the trapdoor. Samuel ties one end of the rope to the trapdoor. Then click the rope on the Minecart

Samuel ties the other end to the mining cart. Left click on the minecart.

Samuel tries to push the minecart away. However, it doesn't work. Now right click on the minecart. Samuel takes off the brake. Left click on the mine cart again and now Samuel pushes the cart through the gate and the cart rips the trapdoor out of the floor. Click in the now open trap door and.....

On the right are two lockers against the wall. The left cabinet has a padlock

Take the little key you just found from your inventory and click on the left locker.

In the machine room open your inventory and take out the "Blueprints of a Machine" and click it on the Control panel of the large machine.

With the help of the drawing, Samuel now turns on the large machine. Go back to the previous room and click in the "Trap door" again and descend the ladder all the way to the lower Generator Room. Back in the lower generator room you now see that steam is leaking from a pipe of the generator. Click on the Steam

Now move your arrow over the grid until you get the "A firmPadlock" click spot. Click both the Padlock and the Grate again. Save your game here and now

Open your inventory and take the Revolver. Now, very carefully, place the revolver on the padlock and then click.......

Samuel backs up and aims the revolver at the Padlock's weak spot and fires. If you had clicked the revolver in the right place on the padlock, Samuel will now shoot the padlock with 1 shot. Click on the gate to open it now and then go through the gate to Exit the Mines"

NB: It is very important that you have right-clicked on the Padlock because then Samuel will know that the Padlock has a weak spot. If you forget to right click the padlock then you will not be able to destroy the Padlock with 1 shot from your revolver. You then need both bullets to shoot the padlock and then you don't have a bullet left to shoot the Wolf. And then it's GAME OVER

You come out. O........A WOLF. Quickly, grab your Revolver from your inventory again and click it on the Wolf.

Samuel shoots the wolf with the last bullet. Click at the bottom right of your screen and you will return to:
