Chapter 3: Quaramonte: Part 1: The General:

George and Nico have arrived in Quaramonte, Mexico, and they walk through customs. There is no way back. You can try it but you can not go back through the barrier. In this part you have to talk to everyone and always do that extensively. The difficulty here is to get Nico to persuade to "seduce" the General so that he leaves the police station with Nico. To achieve this, you must do exactly what is stated here in the walkthrough

It is market day. The local population offers its goods on the market. First look around and, if you want, talk to the merchants. 

in front of the customs cabin stand a man wearing a brown shirt. Go and talk to that man  and ask him about the statue that you took from the secret room where Nico was imprisoned. The man tells that this statue represents the God Tescatlipoco. The man is afraid of it. You see the building of the "Quaramonte Mine Co". On the white facade of this building you  see a Poster and there is a goat standing in front of the building. The wall on which that poster is hanging is actually the staircase where you can enter that building. In front of the building are two musicians, the "Band". Look at  the poster and look at the goat. You can click on the goat with your piece of coal to hear the goat speak. 

It's not necessarily to do this goat think...it's just a little joke from the makers of the game. Go talk with  those two Musicians, the Band, and ask them everything.

The 2 musicians tell you about their mate, one Miguel, who has been arrested and is now locked up in the police cell. Miguel played Folk music and that seems to have been banned in Quaramonte. So ask further about Music and you will then learn about the existence of the Mines and the Mines Accidents. You get the Mines option, so ask further about the Mines. When you have ask everything then close this conversation. 

Continue walking to the right. George is greeted by Pearl Henderson, who stands in front of the police station.

Pearl and her husband Duane are old acquaintances of George from Broken Sword 1 The Shadow of the Templar. Ask Pearl about Duane and do it 3 times. Pearl and Duane have a fight. Pearl wants to visit the pyramids but Duane does not want that. close the conversation.

Enter the police station. Nico follows you inside.

Upon entering the police station you will see 3 people. You see the General, who is talking with an elderly man about the map. On the right sits Renaldo, the assistant of the General, at his desk. As soon as the General realizes that George and Nico have come in, he breaks off his conversation with that elderly man and quickly rolls up the wall card. The elderly man then leaves the police station. The General introduces himself and he appears to fancy Nico. Talk to the General and ask him about that elderly man he was just talking to.

That elderly man turns out to be Professor Oubier. Now just ask about Oubier, do not use any of the other topics of conversation.

Then close the conversation and then click on that rolled up Chart, hanging on the wall.....and.....

George walks towards it and tries to look at  the chart but the General does not allow it.

 Go out via the Exit, bottom right. Nico and George then stand outside together....Talk with Nico...... 

One of the topics  is that rolled up chart that hangs in the police station. Talk to Nico about this chart and about all other topics so that you can now "get rid of all those topics".

Walk further to the right and........George comes behind the police station at  a red truck and here is that professor Oubier and Duane Henderson is in the truck.

Talk to Oubier and ask him about Oubier and all other topics. Then close the conversation and talk with Duane Henderson. Ask Duane about his red truck, the music and about Miguel Then close the conversation again and walk back to the left and then walk to the building where the goat is standing. Now enter the building via the "Stairs",  to be in the office of the "Quaramonte Mine Co". 

The red-haired boss, Conchita, completely ignores George, but she's very friendly to Nico. Behind Conchita is a closet. Nico makes sure Conchita wants to talk with George.

Ask Conchita about the Mine accidents and then about Oubier. .....Do not use any of the other topics now. 

 Close the conversation when you have completely exhausted the Mine accidents and the Oubier topic

Leave the office via the Exit at the bottom left of your screen. Go back to Duane in his truck and ask him about the truck again.

The truck is stuffed with explosives. Ask Duane about Miguel. Duane tells that he wants to liberate Miguel from the cell, with the truck full of explosives, but he needs a Detonator.  

When you have asked Duane about his truck and about Miguel go back to Conchita in the office of the "Quaramonte Mine Co" and ask her about the Detonator. 

Conchita says she keeps the detonators in the closet, but she will not give it to you. Also use the Map topic

Go back outside and now go talk with Nico again. If all is well, you will now only get the Chart topic. 

But if you have not talked to Nico about all the other topics before, then you will get those topics also. Use the Map topic now and .......

George asks Nico to distract the General so that he can take a look at that wall chart. Nico is not really keen on this but we go back into the police station

 Now talk extensively with the General, but  use the NICO option last. First use all other options but don't use the Coyote Stone topic

George must talk with Renaldo about a visit to the pyramids. Finally, you use the Nico Option. 

The conversation then ends automatically and George concocts a lie in which he says that Nico is a journalist who wants to write a story about the General.

Nico and the General leave the police station. 

Now we must get rid of Renaldo. So go talk with Renaldo, the guy who is sitting  behind the desk. Ask Renaldo about Miguel and then about the pyramids.

Renaldo agrees to take Pearl Henderson on a tour to those pyramids.

Go outside and talk to Pearl Henderson again. Now use all options and finally use the pyramid option.

Pearl and George then go back into the police station and Renaldo disappears with Pearl to the pyramids. 

Now George is alone in the police station, so click again on the rolled up chart, that hangs on the wall. 

George looks at the map and he finds  the location of the mine....... 

When George is done with the chart go to the cells and talk to Miguel.

Ask Miguel about Karzack and about the Noose. 

When done leave the police station and go back to Conchita and use the Chart topic and then use all other topics.........

George now may take a detonator from the closet. So end this conversation and then click the closet and......George takes a red detonator from the closet.

Leave the office and return to Duane, who is still in the truck behind the police station.

Talk to Duane, use all your options but especially the Detonator option and......

George gives the Detonator to Duane who then tells George that he should talk to Miguel now to warn him about the explosion. 

So go back into the police station and then to the cells and talk to Miguel again and.......Renaldo comes back and......

George is arrested and thrown into the cell and then we switch to:

Nico and the General:

Nico is with the General in his residence and the General is pretty horny. Nico is not very happy with that and she desperately tries to avoid any physical contact with the General

There are several objects that you have to look at here 

So examine the Lava lamp on the table, the Portrait on the wall, the TV and the Swordfish above the door. Then talk to the General and use all these options. 

 During this conversation the General's MOTHER comes in...... It turns out that MOTHER is the real Boss

Mothers interrogates Nico and then we switch back to:

George: 

George talks to Miguel and then there is a conversation between George and Duane through the Cell window. 

Duane is going to try to detonate his explosives, but unfortunately .... that fails. Try to take the Noose, that is hanging in Miguel's cell

Off course George can't reach the noose, so talk to Miguel again about the Noose. 

Miguel  gives the Noose to George. Take the Noose from your inventory and click with it on the window of George's cell. 

George ties the noose to the bars. Duane pops up again. Now you have to move George a bit to the right so that he is away from the cell window. 

Then click the Noose and then click the Noose on Duane

Sit back to enjoy the end of this chapter......

George asks Duane to tie the rope to the truck and then pull the window out of the wall with the truck and ... 

Nico is in conversation with the General and with Mothers. Then we hear a big "BOOM" and we see Miguel and George escape from the cell. 

Nico is coming too and George and Nico are running away to the river.

Renaldo wants to arrest Duane and Pearl, but the stupid General prevents this. 

Then we see George and Nico escape with a boat over the river.

It is night and a helicopter pops up and it fires on the boat and the boat explodes.

George lies on the bank of the river when he comes around. Nico is nowhere to be seen. George hears the sound of a church organ and he follows that  sound
