Chapter 3: Spire: The Age of Sirrus:

  Part 1: On your way to the Throne:

The link movie has already shown you a glimpse of what awaits you here in this era. Spire is a violent era, but Sirrus is a violent man. So Spire is a "Crystal Age". Everything in this Age consists of Crystals. And because of this, everything also looks alike. There is a lot of shimmering and it is dark and so it becomes difficult to orient yourself well. For me it becomes difficult to always point in the right direction because crystal is crystal and everything is quite similar. However, I will try to describe everything as well as I can during your wandering through this Age. I invent fantasies names for the different areas you end up in and also for the various "devices" that you are dealing with.

Just like in Haven you have arrived here in a Dome. However, this dome is completely in ruins. You are standing on top of a gigantic Crystal rock that rises from the clouds. Look at normal "eye level" when you look at the sky on arrival. Right in front of you is the exit of the dome. To the right of that you see a bench and on that bench is a book. When you turn around, you will see another stone table with squares in which the Tomahna Linking Book is located. You have just arrived, so leave this book alone. Go forward to the exit and then zoom in on the book on the bench.

 

Your Amulet will flash, so click on the Amulet. Listen to Yeesha and Sirrus: "Daddy said that you never wanted to learn D'ni as a child, which is why he never taught you". "Then I did not want that either, I had a lot more fun with other things, I was a bit stupid then." "Hey, maybe you can learn it now, together with me." "Really, do you want to teach me D'ni?" "Why not? Somebody has to do it."

Yeesha thus makes 3 capital errors here. First, she tells Sirrus that she is powerful in the D'ni language. Secondly, she wants to learn Sirrus D'ni. But Yeesha's biggest mistake is that she trusted Sirrus. But we will see this later. You cannot open this book. Zoom out and exit the dome through the exit. Be careful not to fall down. Turn right and look at normal eye level. Well, it's going to be  a long climb down, through the stone steps.

Go 1 step ahead down the stairs, turn right and go down the 2nd stairs, turn right and go down the 3rd stairs, turn right and go down the 4th stairs and STOP. On the right, you can continue down the stairs, but first turn left. You are standing in front of a lift shaft. Go forward inwards and then look to the left.

 

On the pillar is the blue lift button. However, the elevator button is broken. You can click on it but no lift will come to you through the shaft. You can zoom in the shaft, to peek down through the shaft. Then zoom out and turn around and then go 3 times forward to descend the rest of the stone stairs.

You will end up in the:

Crystal Garden:  

Just stand for a moment and look around. On the left you can see a  Group of Statues. If you turn further to the left, you will see a very high gate behind that group of statues behind and behind that is a bridge that goes to a White Crystal. If you look to the right you will see a bridge that goes to the Lift shaft, inside the rock where you have just descended via the stone steps. We do not go there now. Turn back to the left and advance to that group of statues and then zoom in on the statues.

 

 Your Amulet will flash again. This group of statues represents Catherine, Atrus and their young sons Sirrus and Achenar and the scene shows you a scene on the Myst Island near the fountain in front of the library. Click on your Amulet and listen to Sirrus: "Come on, you've probably seen it grow a million times now, how was that?" Father wrote ... Mother was sitting ... on his left ... Who had the boat? boat Yes ... Yes, I had the boat! " Zoom out and then turn to the right to the fallen pillar that lies to the right of the sculpture group. There is a sleeping bag under this pillar and there are some tools. Zoom in on it and click on your Amulet again and watch and listen to Sirrus: "I thought I was the only bad person in our family, but this ....... this is a good one ... No book, Father, no key book home! Think Sirrus.

 

Zoom out again and turn left again to the statues group and then a little further to the very high gate behind the group of statues.

Go forward one time to the gate. You stand before the bridge that goes to the great White Crystal.

 

Go over the bridge twice and ......... you almost stand against that white crystal. If you look closely, you will see that the White Crystal is in a HOLLOW PIPE. Look at the circumference of the "Pipe". Zoom in on it. It seems to be a 5-angle. A Pentagram. Take a picture of it because this is important to know at the end of this Age.

 

Zoom out. Under the White Crystal you can see a vertical Slit. Zoom in on the slot and click on your Amulet. In the video you can see the white crystal disappear and you have a good view of the upper circumference of the "Pipe". So you see that it is indeed a 5-angle.

 

Look at the vertical slot. There is a thick knob at the top of the slot. It is an indicator. The slot has a scale of buttons. If you count that indicator as 1 then there are 9 buttons along the slot. At the 4th button you see a white dot. Remember this because this too becomes important at the end of this Age. Zoom out and turn right and look down. Right next to the bridge you see the wide opening of a more or less round "Pipe". On the left is a piece of rope attached. This is the "esophageal pipe". Zoom IN on the pipe and then click on your Amulet again and listen to Sirrus:

 

  "Strike it out .... By both loops ..... Nice knot .... Hope the key book is down there." After this you do not zoom out but click with the Forward finger in the pipe and .....  

  Enjoy the long glide down through the "esophagus" of this crystal Time. You land a long way further down and then stand before the beginning of an iron griddle path.  

The "Conductors" puzzle:

Part 1: The Lower Level:

Go 1 time ahead on the grid and then turn slightly to the left. At the end of the griddle path you will see a pole with a pile of upward crystals. I call it this pole the "Crystal pillar". Electricity keeps climbing upwards from the bottom up through the crystals. The Crystal Pole is connected via a cable to 7 Crystal lamps that float further up in the air and eventually to the Island that towers above the clouds behind the 7 Crystal lamps. You have to go there. On the left before the Crystal Pole you see a thick pillar on which a kind of round "biscuit box" is placed. You can move forward in the direction of the Crystal Pole, but if you turn slightly to the right, you will notice that you can also move forward to the corner to the right of the griddle path. In that corner is the so-called "Circuit board", and a climbing pole.

 

Move forward 1 time towards the "crystal pole". You end up at the "cookie jar". Turn to the right until you get the forward finger to the corner where the "Circuit board" is located and then go there. Then turn slightly left and you are exactly right in front of the "Circuit board". The green light turns out to be a lever. Place your hand on the white button and then pull the lever up and .......

 

The whole top opens up like a big book. This is the "Electric circuit", also called the "Circuit Board". You all see resistors and electric meters.

 

After this "book" has been opened, your Amulet will flash. So click on the Amulet and listen to Sirrus again: "Father, it looks like those lessons about connections, which you teaches me so much on Voltaic, are finally useful, but figuring out how to build this electrical circuit was 10 times. so difficult, because I had to build everything from the ground up ". Zoom out. Well, you all see resistors and gauges that are connected to the resistors. However, the thing is dead. So there is no Power. Zoom out and turn to the left. You see the Green Cable going from the "Crystal Pole" to the left and disappearing into the "Cookie Jar". Now move forward to the "Cookie Jar". This is "Cookie jar 1". Look at the "Cookie Jar"

 

You will see a circle with a symbol. On the left you see a small blue button. To the left of the "biscuit box" and then slightly below, you see a round case. That is the Electromagnet. Now zoom in on the "Cookie Jar". Your Amulet will flash again, so click on your Amulet: "Ok, no mistakes now, I do not want to lose another ship." "Garden magnet on .... Basic conductors charged and ready .... Here we go .. .. ".

Zoom out and press that small blue button and ....  

  The "cookie jar" opens and you see the buttons and handles for the control panel.

 

On the left you see a small lever. In the middle you see, at the bottom, a slider that you can slide to the left and to the right. The button is now in the middle. Right above the slider you see 7 small buttons. That are 7 indicator lights or "LEDs". Above these LEDs you see 7 larger lights. They are numbered as 1 through 7. Those 7 lights are the Conductors

The idea is that you succeed in having all 7 Conductors burn at the same time. You have to do this by sliding the Slider, from the middle, to the right and then back to the center. If you slide the slider to the right, 4 of the 7 LEDs will always light up. If you slide the slider back to the center, 2 LEDs will always go out. So you have to figure out how often you have to slide the slider to the right and back to the center to get the 7 Conductors ON.  

  It took me a while to find the solution, but here it is:

·      Click on the lever

 

·      Slide the Slider all the way to the right.

 

·      The LEDs 1, 2, 3 and 4 light up.

 

·      Slide the slider back to the center.

 

·      The LEDs 3 and 4 go out again.

 

·      Slide the Slider all the way to the right again.

 

·      The LEDs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 now light up.

 

·      Slide the Slider back to the center again.

 

·      The LEDs 5 and 6 go out.

 

·      Slide the Slider right again and ...

 All 7 LEDs will now light up, but they will also go out again, but now all 7 Conductor's lights are burning and ....Don't do anything now. Just wait patiently. After a few seconds the game takes over and you automatically look up. A spherical device then descends from the "air" and this device is pulled by the magnetic force to the electromagnet. Go back to the right to the Circuit Board. Open the Circuit Board again via the lever and .....

 

The "book" folds open again but now the middle 7 resistors on the left and the gauges on the left are on. Those 7 resistors are the 7 Conductors in the "Cookie Jar". This area now has electricity. Zoom out and turn slightly left again and now advance 1 time to the "Crystal Pole”.  Zoom in on the "air" on the left side of the "Crystal Pole".

 

Your Amulet will flash again, so just click on your Amulet again: "Yep! 1 I knew it would work, enough static electricity to be taken care of by my conductors." Ha ha! .. Now stop this wasting stupid light, send it somewhere ". Zoom out and turn around. On the left of the grid is the thin climbing pole, right in front of the Circuit Board. Go forward to the climbing pole. Look all the way up along the pole.

 

  It is a Climbing Pole and high above your head you see a closed hatch. So click up in the pole and hit your head against that hatch.

There is a small green handle on the hatch. Grab this lever and give it a jerk to the left and .....  

The hatch opens and you go through it automatically and you are at:

Part 2: The Middle Level:

You probably still look up the second part of the climbing pole and see another hatch above your head. Later on we will climb further up, but for now we stay on this "floor." Turn right and look at "normal eye level" You are now looking into the Work Area of ​​Sirrus. Just before you see a "Floating Stone" floating in the gorge. Further back you can see the large work table of Sirrus and behind it is the "Plants Garden".

 

  Go 1 time ahead to the "Floating Stone". Zoom in on the stone and then click on your Amulet and listen to Sirrus: "Impossible ... Every scientific principle says that these rocks can not float, and yet they float ....... How to pat it, Father! if you can write it, then I can use it! " Zoom out and turn slightly to the right. Go 2 times ahead to the Stone Table.

 

This is the work table of Sirrus and it consists of two halves. On the right half there are 2 devices with a crystal and these two devices are connected via a switch in between. On the right is a Telescope. On the left side of the table is a box containing machine parts and in front of the box is a Book. Zoom in on the telescope on the right side of the table. Through the Telescope you can see the Island behind the 7 floating Crystal lights and your Amulet will beep again, so click on the Amulet:

 

It cannot be real, it has to be, but can I finally get to the ground? I do have to know. Must go there.

Zoom out and zoom in on those two devices that are located to the left of the telescope. Again your Amulet will flash, so click on your Amulet again and listen to Sirrus again: "

 

Remarkable. No change in the molecular structure. No light inside ..... As long as the crystal remains grounded, the current just goes through. "

Zoom out and turn left to the left half of the table and zoom in on the Book that is located here. Click on your Amulet again to activate the book and then open the book. This is :

  Sirrus's Journal:

Well, you hear Sirrus read aloud his journal. Listen and read as you turn the pages in time. Sirrus explains the intentions of all those crystals, the Power Station and the Stone Ship.

87.5.25: Apparently I have underestimated him. I did not expect him to be that cunning. he has always said that Spire was dangerous, but I thought he meant the people here. Violent and possibly afraid of foreigners; the perfect combination for a grip on power. but there is no one here. No rich civilization to rule. Now I understand how he has deceived me. Congratulations, Father. You win this round.

87.6.1: I temporarily stored my tent at the plant cave. I have food with me for a month, then I have to grow it myself. The scarce plants do not taste good, but I have tried a few and they are nutritious. Next point on the agenda: How do I get out of here. I think there is a Myst Key Book somewhere here. The easiest way for my Father to get off the book was touching it as he jumped from the palace. There are, of course, other ways, but I cannot ignore them. I must at least reach the bottom.

87.9.1: This is no fun anymore. I slipped every oddly shaped wind pipe in this Age and have not even been able to look under the second layer of clouds. I was convinced that three of the tunnels went somewhere, but they all died in an impressive cave full of crystals. Those crystals are a bit strange. Due to their structure, they build up negative loads. When I touched one, I got a big punch. At the same time, the faint glow emanating from the crystal was extinguished and I heard a peculiar buzz that stopped when the crystal was discharged. I want to know more about these crystals and plan to explore the cave.

88.2.6: Last night I saw light shimmering in the other palace. I realized that I might not be alone here. What if this Age is like Stone ship? Father has never been able to explain how Emmet and Branch just surfaced. He said that Art always surprised him. Are the lights of different people? I give a lot to know this for sure. What would I like to talk to someone after having been alone for months?

88.5.14: Those floating boulders: Everywhere in this Age you will find phosphorescent green mineral with strong diamagnetic properties. At least that is the most credible theory I can think of to explain how those boulders that I see outside my garden can float. I got an idea. If I can get such a large rock, can I make a "ship" and "sail" through the clouds to the other palace? The hardest thing in this whole story is still to keep the height ... These boulders float higher than the highest point of the palace. To make my ship float lower than it naturally wants is still quite a job.

88.10.2: Over the past few weeks I have looked at the storms that pull through the second layer of clouds. You see them as flashes of light between the layers. I do not feel the violence of these storms in my garden. It's not raining. And there is hardly any wind. I am here, between the layers, completely safe. I do not understand. How did Father create a world that is actually scientifically impossible? He never told you how to write a Time. Neither Achenar nor me learned the Art. Maybe I should have insist on that anyway.

89.4.18: The crystals I have taken from the lower cave are intriguing. There is no limit to how much energy they can store. Unfortunately, they are therefore difficult to use. As long as a charged crystal does not touch anything, the energy is retained. but as soon as the crystal touches a grounded object, however slight it may be, it will go away and produce a wonderful "song". I want to use that singing again, even if it is only for my own pleasure. Then I have at least some music in these caves ..... Well, the crystals can solve the problem with the Rock ship. I attach them to a few boulders, throw them back in the clouds and I can drain enough natural electricity to make an electromagnet work. The attraction of the magnet and the smaller magnetic fields of the lightning rods must bring the ship down to the nearest palace. I can always try it.

90.10.22: As I write this a storm starts. I feel the hair standing on my arms. I have palpitations, so tense I am to test the first conductor. My god, did Father feel this every time he held his hand over a just completed Key Book? Was he just as excited as he was about to discover if his theories were working? Why did he never want to share this with me? Otherwise it might have been different between us ..... The first conductor starts to glow. Here we go.

91.5.25: NO NONONONO !!!! My calculations were perfect! That ship should not have floated away! The distance between the conductors is too big, I think. So more conductors. But then the electromagnetic attraction becomes too big and the ship crashes. How do I prevent this? Maybe a second electromagnet on the roof of the garden? I have to start again. And again to get a boulder for the ship. This is going to cost me years! But I'm almost there. I can almost go to the nearest palace. And perhaps from there to the ground. Hopefully the Key Book will still do it.

Well, I hope you have understood all this. In any case, you have experienced that there must be another "biscuit box" on the roof of the garden. Zoom out and turn slightly to the left so that you get the forward finger to the corner to the left of the table. Go forward 1 time towards the corner and turn right and then go forward 1 times in the Garden.

 

Turn right again and go forward once again. You represent a small transparent statue that Catherine has to imagine. She has a white flower in her hands. Zoom in on the statue and click on your Amulet:  

  "Your belief in me is really amazing, mother. How long before I kill this? " You hear Sirrus sarcastic say. Zoom out and turn right to the "table". On this is a drawing that you can zoom in on but it does not give you a memory. Zoom out again, turn right, 1 forward, turn left, 1 forward. You are back at the "Floating Stone" and the work table. Turn left, 1 time ahead, turn right and you look again at the Climbing Pole in the "White Cave".

 

To the right of the cave with the climbing pole you see a path of "Floating Stones" going to the back. That path takes you to the Lift shaft. You can go there, but the elevator is not there. It is also not necessary that you go to the lift now, so go back to the Climbing Pole. At the climbing pole you look up again and click the Forward finger to climb up to the:

 

Part 3: Upper Level:

You are now on "The Roof of the Garden" as Sirrus told you in his journal. Look down at the climbing pole hole and then turn all the way around and ...... you're right in front of the 2nd "Cookie Jar". Zoom in again on this 2nd "cookie jar" and click on your Amulet again:

 

  "You have done these calculations a few times! Make sure that the magnetic forces are in balance, otherwise the ship never leaves, you want it to leave after all these years?" Zoom out and click on the button that is located to the left of the "biscuit box" and the drum will open again. Well .......... it is the same puzzle as below on the bottom level, only there are now only 4 Conductors and only 4 LEDs. The intention is now that you get the Conductors 1 and 2. As a result, the Sphere, located next to "Cookie jar 1" on the Electromagnet, will be balanced and will float above the magnet. Here is the solution:

·        Click again on the lever.

 

·        Slide the slider all the way to the left.

 

·        LED 1 lights up.

 

·        Slide the slider back to the center.

 

·        The LEDs 1, 2 and 3 light up.

 

·        Slide the slider all the way to the right and ..... Done.

The LEDs go on and off again and the Conductors 1 and 2 light up. 

You don’t see it in a movie, but now the Globe is balanced and floats down on the bottom level above the magnet. Turn around and look down at the Climbing Pole hole.

  Click once in the hole and you will immediately return to the middle level and to the climbing pole. Look down at the closed hatch and grab the lever of the hatch and pull the hatch open to the right.  

You automatically return to the Lower Level in one go.

Part 4: the "floating Island"

To the right is the Circuit Board. Open this thing again. You will then see that 2 of the upper resistors in the left part are now lit.

 

So these are the 2 Conductors of the Upper level. In total you now have 9 Conductors burning, the 2 in "Cookie Jar 2" and the 7 of "Cookie Jar 1". Zoom out and turn left and go forward to "Cookie jar 1". Look, look ..... to the left of the "biscuit box" the ball floats above the magnet.

 

The Sphere is the "Stone ship" that Sirrus talks about in his journal. With this "Stone ship" you now have to go to that little island behind the 7 Crystal lamps. You can see that a curved ladder now goes to the sphere from the crystal pole. Go forward to the Crystal pole and then turn left and go forward one step ahead on the curved ladder.

 

At the end you look down and you will see the Globe hovering just below you. Turn to the right for a moment and look at all those small "islands" that float in the air, so all those islands are connected via the thick green cable to the Crystal Pole and with the "biscuit boxes 1 and 2. Look down again to the Sphere. Go forward 1 time in the Sphere. You then sit in the Sphere and you see a lever in front of you.

 

Well ..... Grab the handle and pull the thing up with a firm jerk up until you hear "Click" and .... Enjoy the flight in the Sphere to the "Floating Island".

Upon arrival, look up at the top window and click with your Forward finger to go out of the Sphere.

 

Then look at normal height and turn clockwise to the path over the beam. You see a "ladder bridge" going to the right.  

Go forward 1 time. You are already at the end of the bar. You cannot continue to the back of the island. Turn right and go forward over the ladder. Then turn right again and ..... between the white crystals there is a big round hole. Zoom in on the round hole and click on your Amulet. Look and listen to Sirrus: "Finally .... After all these years ...... I AM FREE !!"

 

Do not zoom out, but click with your forward finger into the round hole and you will land a long way down on a beam.

 

You have climbed down via the button rope. Turn to the left. There is a bar to the left to the large "Window". In the "window" hangs a network of chains and at the bottom of the window is a kind of telescope. Go forward over the beam to the telescope. Zoom in on the round screen of the telescope.

 

You see Sirrus climbing down through the same rope and you see that he finds out that his Age is bottomless.  

Stay zoomed in. To the right of the screen is a Blue Button around which 4 arrow buttons are located. Use the arrow buttons to move the telescope up, down, left and right. There are 3 so-called "Hotspots"  which you can find with the telescope, you can zoom in with the blue button on these hotspots. 1 of those Hotspots is important. If you end up at a Hotspot, the Blue Button will light up white. Then click on the Blue Button to zoom in. The first Hotspot is located at the bottom of the middle stalactite that you now see in the screen. So click on the Down arrow and do this in small steps until the blue button lights up. Then click the blue button to zoom in completely. Zoom out completely.

 

  The 2nd Hotspot is at the top of the same stalactite. So click the Up arrow until the blue button turns white again and then click the blue button again to zoom in again. Zoom out completely.  

The 3rd Hotspot is the most important one. You can find this by going from Hotspot 2 a little to the left via the left arrow. You will then see a White Crystal sticking out of a Pipe  

Zoom in all the way through the Blue Button. This is such a white crystal as you saw in the Crystal Garden. Before you went down through the "esophagus". Here too you see a slot with 9 buttons. But now the 3rd button is marked with a white dot. The shape of the pipe is a Circle. You must have seen this. Remember this.

 

Zoom out of the telescope via a click with your right mouse button and then turn around and go back 1 time in advance to the rope. Then turn right and follow the bar 1 time forward to the end.

 

Turn left. You are now facing a large GEAR WHEEL. In front of the "Heart" of the wheel is the big gray handle. It seems that you cannot click anywhere and that this is a Dead End. But take a close look at the "Teeth" that stick out of the wheel on the right side. You see that there is a small stone on which green spheres are sitting, blocking the gear. Click with your finger on that stone to make it loose.

 

Then pull the lever towards you, so down and……..The wheel turns very fast for a few seconds and then stops. The lever shoots back again.

Turn left and go back to the rope. Look up and climb back up through the forward finger. Back up, turn right and walk back over the ladder.

 

Turn right and ...... Look ... the turning of the gear has ensured that there is now a large "Floating Rock" floating over which you can now continue to the rear part of the island.

 

So advance 1 time. You then stand on the "Floating Stone". If you now look to the left, see "Cookie jar 3". Do not go there yet, but go forward one more time to the back of the island. You will arrive at the 2nd Circuit Board that is here. Well, also this one has a small white button at the bottom, so grab this button and pull it up and the Circuit board opens. You zoom in on it yourself and your Amulet will flash again. Click on your Amulet and listen to Sirrus again:

 

A lot of electricity is being collected outside of it. And as soon as I'm done with this circuit, it goes directly to the throne where I need it most ... Can you hear the music already, Father? "

Zoom out and turn around and walk 1 time back to the "Floating Stone". Turn clockwise and go forward 1 time to "Cookie jar 3".

 

  Zoom in on the "Cookie Jar" and click on your Amulet again and listen to Sirrus again:  

"I have to set up the network in such a way that enough power will flow into the throne, it's the only way to get the right frequency."  

Zoom out. This cookie jar also has a small button with which you can open the cookie jar, so click on that button. The "biscuit box" opens again and .... Oh dear.

The "3rd cookie jar"

This 3rd cookie jar looks somewhat more complicated. You can now set the slider to 4 positions. There are now 34 LEDs and 34 Conductors and the intention is that you burn 29 of them. This, too, has cost me a lot of headache, but here is the solution, starting from the start position of the slider.

·      Click on the lever, left.

 

·      Slide the slider 1 position to the right.

 

·      There are 10 LEDs burning and you hear music tones.

 

·      Now slide the slider all the way to the right.

 

·      13 LEDs light up.

 

·      Slide the slider 1 position back to the left.

 

·      22 LEDs light up.

 

·      Slide the slider back 1 position to the left again.

 

·      19 LEDs light up.

 

·      Move the slider 1 position to the right and ......

  29 LEDs light up and go out again and 29 of the 34 Conductors light up and continue to burn. You are done.

  \

Turn right and go back to the "Floating Stone", turn left and go forward again to the Circuit Board. Now open the Circuit Board again and ......

 

You see that there are now a lots of conductors on both left and right. A total of 38 conductors now burn. If you count, you will see that this is correct. In "Biscuit drum 1" you have turned on 7 Conductors, in "Biscuit drum 2" you have switched on 2 Conductors and now in "Biscuit drum 3" you have turned on 29 Conductors. 7 + 2 + 29 = 38. The first 9 (of "Cookie Jar 1 and 2) were needed to power the Stone ship, Sirrus speaks in the last 2 memories you've seen about a THRONE where he has to send all the electricity to. Well, that is exactly the whole design of this "cookie jar puzzle". Only that Throne needs only 36 burning conductors, so now 2 conductors are burning too much. So you have to turn off 2 conductors again and that is the 2 conductors of "Cookie jar 2". You have to go back to the Upper Level.

  So zoom out and turn around to the "Floating Stone". Now go back 4 times and you will return to the Stone ship. Pull the lever fully up again.  

You fly back to the Lower Level. Look up and click with the forward finger again in the top window to exit the Stone ship.

 

Turn right and walk forward over the curved ladder, turn right and go to the Climbing Pole. Look up and click on the hatch of the middle level. Then pull the lever of the hatch to the left again. The hatch opens and you go through it automatically. Climb further up to the Upper Level. Turn to "Cookie jar 2". Open the Cookie Jar 2 by clicking on the small button.

 

When the "Cookie jar" has been opened again, click on the lever and the 2 Conductors will go out again. Now you have exactly 36 Conductors on and that is the 7 in "Cookie Jar 1" plus the 29 in "Cookie Jar 3". Turn around and return to the middle level via the Climbing rope

Part 2: To the Throne

You then stand in front of the Climbing Pole and look at it. To the right is the work area with the Botanic Garden. You do not want to go there now. Turn to the left.

You look into the area to the left of the Climbing Pole. Go forward 1 time. You then face a large "Gate" again.

 

Left in the gate you get the forward finger again, so go forward one time. You are beyond the gate. Stand still  but turn slightly to the right until you get the forward finger again. In the distance you will see the 2nd workplace of Sirrus. There is also his sleeping place. Do not go there yet, but continue to the right. In the corner you see a slanting pillar. The front part of the pillar has been broken off and there is a Paper on the floor.

 

  Zoom in on the Paper. No activity of your Amulet. Take a picture of this paper. It is the "1st Quartz Crystal note" and contains important clues.

 

 Zoom out twice, turn slightly back to the left and then advance 1 time to the 2nd Workplace of Sirrus. Stop. You see another Worktable right in front of you and ..... You see another very large White Crystal sticking out of a Pipe. Do not go there yet. Turn to the left. You see the bed and a table with a chess game. There is a Water Bucket in front of the bed. Go forward to the bed and then turn left to the water bucket. Look down at the bucket and then a little to the left of the bucket.

 

 There is another paper on the floor here. Zoom in and take another picture of it. This is the "1st note concerning the Blue Crystal"  

  Zoom out twice and turn to the Chess game on the table. Zoom in on it and click on your Amulet.

 

You see / hear the continuation of the chess memory in the kitchen of Tomahna: "What is that right for you? You caught me Father, completely! And now you leave the lady unprotected? That nara chess pieces loose from you was more challenging . " Zoom out and turn to the right. Right across the bed, and thus to the right of the work table, another large "esophagus" goes down into the ground. Do not go there now but turn slightly to the left and click with your forward finger on the work table, to go there.

 

At the work table, turn slightly to the left and go forward one time to the Great White Crystal in the Pipe.

 You will probably come to the left of it, staring into the air. Then look at normal eye level and turn clockwise towards the White crystal.

  Zoom in on the crystal and click on your Amulet. Take a good look at which button the indicator is in the slot while you listen to Sirrus: "Start with rock test 29. This should be him".

 

But it did not go well, Sirrus. The front of the pipe is broken and that slit with the 9 buttons is no longer there. But in the memory you saw that the indicator was at the 7th button. The shape of the pipe is a 6-angle. Take a photo and zoom out  2 times and turn clockwise to the work table. Go forward to the work table. On the left side of the work table there is a turning standard with a few crystals. You can grab the round bucket of the stand and then turn it to the right. If you then let go, the bucket turns back to the left. A letter is on the table for this standard. Zoom in on it.  

This is the "Nara note". Take a photo of it and zoom out twice. Turn to the right. To the right is another letter and for this letter there is a hatch in the table. Zoom in on the letter.

 

This is the "Rock Test Note". Take a photo of it and zoom out twice. Place your hand on the left edge of the hatch and then pull the hatch open up to the right.

 

 In the box there are 2 sheets of paper. Zoom in on it. On the top sheet of paper a cogwheel is inconveniently in the way.

 

 Grab the gear and then drag it to the right off the paper and then release it. Read the note.  

It is the "2nd note concerning the test with the Blue crystal" Take another picture and then zoom out once.

 

  Place your hand on the bottom left corner of the sheet and then turn the sheet to the right so that you can read the bottom sheet. Take a picture of this too. Now zoom out twice. Turn right and go forward 1 time. Turn left and you're right in front of that "esophagus" that goes into the ground here. Zoom in and click with your forward finger in the pipe and ......  

  You slide down again through the "esophagus" and you end up in the Cave of the THRONE.

 

Part 2: The Terrible Throne puzzle

Click with your forward finger on the Throne, You take place on the Throne and now have a good overview of the cave. What do you see?

 

To the right of the Throne you see 2 transparent statues. They are statues of Atrus and Catherine. Right before the Throne you see a closed fence. Behind the fence is a corridor. To the left of the gate is a lever in the wall. On the left before the Throne is a column with a lever. You see 2 thick green power cables coming through the fence and these disappear in the column and from the column 1 cable goes to the throne. On the right-hand side of the Throne there is a Blue Button but leave that for now. Go forward out of the Throne again. You stand in front of the fence. Turn to the right. You look at the 2 statues. To the right of the statues you get the forward finger, so go ahead to the statues.

 

Then turn slightly to the left to stand in front of the statues. The statue of Catherine has a paper in her hand. Zoom in on the paper.

 

On the paper are rows with circles. There is a number in each circle. You will need this later, so take a picture of it. Then zoom out twice again.

Turn left and go back to the fence. Stand straight in front of the gate and then pull the lever down on the left of the gate.  

  The gate opens. Go 1 time ahead, turn left and look up. You stand for a staircase. Go up the stairs 1 time in advance. You are then at the top of the stairs. Look down. You stand for a Blue Button. Turn left. You will see the elevator shaft. The elevator can or cannot be here now. It is also not important, you will not go with this lift anyway. Turn anticlockwise to look at the stairs with your back to the Blue Button. Look down. A paper is lying on the floor in front of your feet.

 

  Zoom in on the paper It is the "2nd Quartz Note". Take picture of it and then zoom out 2 times.  

Throne puzzle Part 1:

  Go back down the stairs and below you turn to the right and go forward again to the Throne. Take a seat on the Throne again. Now click on the Blue Button in the right handrail.

 

  The Control Panel comes down. On the left you see a thick Blue Button that you can pull down through a slot. 

The Knob is now on Position 1. The Positions in the slit are indicated by the red dots.

 

Grab the Blue Knob and pull the knob down to the 2nd red ball and .... The THRONE Sinks down through the Cave and .... the statues of Atrus and Catherine also come down. You are hanging on the upper Level. Around you are a bunch of cones that look at you like spectators in a tribune. From the Throne you zoom in on the Atrus and Catherine statues and this time your Amulet will beep, so click on your Amulet and listen to Sirrus: "Not much longer, Father, not long until I show you what a smart girl everything is possible. " Zoom out and look down again at the control panel. Grab the Blue knob again and pull it down 1 position further down through the slit.

 

  The Throne turns to the left and then descends further down to the Middle Level and ....... The "stands" with the cones also turn around and split.  

Throne Puzzle Part 2: set the Sprockets:

Before we can continue with the Throne Puzzle, the cables under the Throne must first be calibrated. To do this the Throne has to be lowered even further, to the "Bottom of this Age". Click with your finger on the hatch under the hole, so the hatch where those 3 big E's stand. The hatch opens and you see a blue button.

 

Click on the Blue Button and .... The throne sinks down a long way and reaches the "Bottom" of this Age. However, the large Control Panel does not come down. When the throne has come to a standstill, you probably look at the sky and the bottom of the stalactites. Look down and ......... So you are now completely at the bottom of the 2 thick cables and right in front of 3 large gear wheels

 Under the right sprocket is a "shelf" with a pincers and two small cogs. Look down at this "shelf" and zoom in on that pincers.

 

  Your Amulet will beep again, so click on your Amulet and listen to Sirrus again: "Aaaaarghh !!! Jeeez! Now I understand why I cannot find the right frequency. These cables sound even worse than the wailing of Mother". Zoom out and look again at the 3 Gear wheels. On each wheel you see a Symbol. On the Left wheel you see a 5-angle, on the Centre wheel you see a Circle and on the Right-hand wheel you see a 6-angle. Are these symbols not familiar to you? Well, you have seen 3 of those big White Crystals that each stuck out of a thick pipe?

 

The "mouths" of those pipes were in the shape of a 5-angle, a circle and a 6-angle. So these 3 large gears each correspond with such a White Crystal Pipe. 

  • On each of those pipes you saw a slot with 9 buttons and one of those buttons was always marked with a white dot.  

  • On the 1st pipe, the 5-corner pipe was the 4th button. On the 2nd pipe, the Circle pipe, that was the 3rd button. 

  • On the 3rd pipe, the 6-corner pipe, that was the 7th button.  

  • The Left cogwheel is therefore the 5-angle pipe, the Middle cogwheel is the Circle pipe and the Right cogwheel is the 6-angle pipe.

You can set each gear to 9 positions by pulling the Bracket towards you. Each gear is now in the 1 position. You now have to put the three gears in the right position, corresponding to the button marked on the Slit of the corresponding White Crystal Pipe.

  • Set the Left sprocket to Position 4 by setting the Bracket of this wheel between 4 and 5.

  • Set the middle sprocket bracket to position 3, i.e. between 3 and 4.

  • Place the Right Sprocket Bracket at position 7, i.e. between 7 and 8.  

If you go wrong, click on the white lever at the bottom of the gear to return the gear to position 1 and start again. Do you have the 3 gears well then you look to the left above the Left sprocket. You see a thick round Black Knob there.

Click on this button. You go back up to the Middle Level and before you is again the Control Panel and the 4 Circle Locks. Let's take a closer look at the Control Panel now.

In the hole of the control panel you see 4 Round Circles. 2 left and 2 right. On the other side you see a path. You have to go there, but you cannot get there because there is no bridge. You can zoom in on each of the 4 circles in the hole and you have to do that now because each of these 4 circles is actually a Lock and contains a piece of crystal. Zoom in on each of the circles and see what kind of crystal is in it.

  • In the upper left circle is a piece of white crystal.

  • In the bottom left circle is a piece of black stone.  

  • In the top right circle is a Nara chess piece.  

  • In the bottom right circle is a piece of Blue Crystal.  

Throne Puzzle Part 3: Break open the latches:

In reality, these 4 circles are 4 locks that keep you trapped in the chair. Your assignment is to open all four locks simultaneously by using the correct sound frequencies. So you have to vibrate the pieces of crystal in the 4 locks with sound frequencies. Then, and only then, will the Bridge appear. You can find those sound frequencies by using the notes you have collected.

Take a good look at the control panel, especially the large hole. In the hole you see 3 bars and on each bar you see 12 green balls. At the bottom of each bar there is a slider and those sliders can be moved over the bars. You also see the 4 Locks, which you have just looked at in close-up. Name the 4 locks  A, B, C, D. Name the 3 sliders E, F, G. Number the green balls on the 3 bars, from bottom to top, 1 to 12.

 

  Slide E is on the Left Bar, Slide F is on the Centre Bar and Slide G is on the Right Bar.

·        In each of the four round circles, the 4 locks, you have to see the piece of rock vibrate and you have to do that by setting sound frequencies.

 

·        Each lock, however, needs a different series of 3 sound tones and they all have to vibrate for 4 seconds at the same time. So not one by one, but SIMULTANEOUS !.

 

·        This becomes very difficult. But first of all you need to know the right frequency for each piece of stone. Well, Sirrus has already told you this frequency.

 

·        You have now found 8 papers on which Sirrus makes these frequencies known to you. These notes are: The 1st and the 2nd Quartz Note, the Nara note, the Rock note, the 1, 2, and 3 Blue Crystal notes and the Table that the Catherine Picture holds in her hand. You have taken a picture of all these notes, so you can view them again via your log machine.

A: Determining the right Frequencies:

Slot A: Top left: White Crystal: You need the two Quartz notes for this. So dive into your logbook and conjure up both these photos and take a good look at these notes: The 1st quartz note tells you that the Left bar should be placed on position 6. The 2nd quartz note tells you that the OPTIMAL settings must be close to 8-12-4. So the setting for Slot A is then 6-12-4.

Slot B: Bottom left: Black Stone: The Rock Note tells you that every successful test requires a total of 20 Units of power, no more and no less. The Table Catherine has in her hand tells you that the last bar should be placed in position 5. This means that for the other 2 bars, 15 units remain. However, each bar has 12 positions, so there are a lot of combinations possible to reach 15. By trying, I found out that the distribution should be 10-5. So the setting for Slot B is then: 10-5-5.

Slot C: Top right: Nara Crystal: The Nara note tells you that the Nara stone is the strongest and that it needs the most power to vibrate. So for Slot C the setting is: 12-12-12.

Slot D: Bottom right: The Blue Crystal: The 3 notes on the blue crystal tell you that the Left bar must be set to 3 and that the total of the 3 bars must be the total of the "Cookie Jar 1 and Cookie Jar 2". "Cookie jar 1" has 7 Conductors and "Cookie jar 2" has 4, so the total is 11 conductors. Bar 1 gets 3 of these already, so 8 remain to be distributed over bar 2 and 3. So the setting is 3-7-1 or 3-1-7. After I have tried both, you find out that the correct setting is 3-1-7.

These are then the correct settings for the 3 bars running through the hole of the control panel:

Slot A = 6-12-4. Slot B = 10-5-5. Slot C = 12-12-12. Slot D = 3-1-7

  B: Testing your settings

We will first test this one by one. SAVE YOUR GAME FIRST.

  Look at the control panel. So there are 3 bars through the hole. On each bar you see 12 green buttons and at the bottom of each bar there is a small slider that you can slide up and down over the bars. On the image I have numbered these sliders E, F, G. Number the 12 green buttons on each bar, from bottom to top, as 1 to 12. You call the 3 bars for yourself: Left Bar, Centre Bar, Right Bar.  

Test Slot A:

  • Left bar: Grasp slide E and slide it up to position 6.  

  • Centre bar: Grasp slide F and set it all the way up against the top edge of the hole. 

  • So slide F to position 12.

  • Right bar: Grasp slide G and set it to position 4. Slot A will vibrate. 

  • Quickly zoom in again and see what happens in the lock.

  •   Slot A vibrates slowly and contains only 1 hole.

Test Slot B:

  • Left bar: set the slider to 10.  

  • Centre bar: set the slider to 5.  

  • Right bar: set the slider to 5. Slot B will vibrate.

  •   Zoom in on Slot B. Slot B vibrates quickly and has 3 holes.

Test Slot C:

  • Place all 3 sliders, i.e. from the Left Bar, the Centre Bar and the Right Bar, all the way up to the top edge of the hole.  

  • Slot C starts to vibrate. Zoom in again and see that it has 4 holes and thus vibrates the fastest.

Test Slot D:

  • Left bar: set the slider to 3.

  • Middle bar: set the slider to 1.

  • Right bar: set the slider to 7. Slot D is going to vibrate. Zoom in on it. 

  • Slot D has 2 holes and therefore vibrates faster than Slot A.

Well, this was the Test. Now for the real thing. It is better to load your Save Game from before the Test. So do that. You have vibrated the A, B, C, and D locks one by one in the Test. The problem, however, is that all LOCKS must be in Vibration at the same time and they must also remain vibrating for a few seconds. In the test you noticed that one lock vibrates faster than the other. The faster vibrating locks therefore stop vibrating sooner than the slower vibrating lock. So the best thing is to do the lock that the SLOWEST vibrates first and the lock that vibrates the FAST last. So the order in which you now have to set the locks again is then: Slot A = Top left, Slot D = Bottom right, Lock B = Bottom left, Lock C = Top right.

  C: The real work:

It must now happen in quick succession. You can not hesitate. The problem, however, is that your hand with which you hold the 3 sliders is rather large and that you cannot see if you have put the sliders exactly on the right green button of the bars. Also changing from one rod to the next rod will be a bit stiff. After all, you have to grab a slider again and move it up or down. You will probably need several attempts. If it does not work, load your last save from before the Test and try again.

  Well, here we go: Here is the image again to help you. 

  • Set slide E, from the Left bar, to 6.

  • Set slide F, from the middle bar all the way up, so on 12.  

  • Set slide G, from the Right Bar to 4.  

  • Move slide E, from the left bar, back to 3.

  • Set slide F, from the middle bar, back to 1.

  • Set slide G, from the Right Bar, to 7.

  • Set slide E, from the left bar, to 10 Set slide F, of the middle bar, to 5.

  • Set slider G, from the right bar to 5.

  • Move all 3 sliders all the way up, so against the top edge of the hole.

There is a way to do this a little bit quicker. You don’t have to move the sliders in the order E, F, G and also they don’t have to be long in the right position together. You can do it this way:

  • Set E on 6, set F on 12 ,then move slider G to 4 and further to 7.

  • Slider G has touched 4 and that is enough.

  • The first crystal is vibrating and you already started with de second one.

  • Now set F on 1 and E on 3, keep hold of E and move it up to 10.

  • The second crystal is vibrating and you already started with the third one

  • Then F to 5 and then grab G and move it up to 5 and then to 12.

  • Now the third crystal is vibrating and you are now busy with the last one.

  • Now move E to 12 and F to 12 and the last crystal is vibrating.

If you done it fast enough all 4 crystal are vibrating

  If you do all this very precisely and quickly, then all 4 Locks are simultaneously in vibration and ........ "Floating Stones" will come down and form the bridge you can go to the other side. As soon as you see the "Floating Stones" appear, press the Blue Button located on the Right Handrail to fold the Control Panel up and out of the way. SAVE YOUR GAME NOW AGAIN !!!!!

 

  Part 3: Back to Tomahna:

Go 2 times ahead over the "Floating Stone Bridge". You end up on the grid on the other side. This is the Lift platform. With the lift that is here you have to go all the way up to the top of the "palace" where the Dome with the Tomahna Linking book is. So to the point where you started this Age. Go 1 time ahead on the grid. Stop. To the left of you is the elevator, but a very large stone blocks the elevator. So you cannot enter the elevator. That stone has to leave, but how? Turn around to the railing of the platform. You are then faced with a Gray Panel. There is a slot in the panel where you can slide a Conductor button from left to right. Grasp that button and slide it all the way to the right through the slot.

 

You make a short circuit. Turn left. in the corner, right in front of you, a Glass Dome is on the bench for the railing. In this dome there is a piece of crystal figurine. Go forward 1 time and then turn clockwise. You are standing in front of the Glass Dome. To the left of the Glass Dome is a book on shelf.

 

Zoom in on the Glass Dome and then click on your Amulet and listen to Sirrus again: "Interesting problem .... The matrix wants to continue to build up electrical tension, but immediately loses it when the crystal is grounded ..... So how I isolate those crystals until I can use them. " Zoom out. Zoom in on the Book and click on your Amulet again to activate the book. This is it:

Well, you have to get that big stone out of the elevator. What is better than to blow the stone into smithereens. For this you need such a Nara Crystal because Nara contains the highest concentration of electrical charge. But then that Nara stone must of course not end up in the cup but on the grid. So grab the Handle that is between the two Cups and then drag the cups to the left so that the left cup is completely against the left container.

 

  Then, if necessary, click with your right mouse button and turn around. Go back over the grid and over the "Floating Stone Bridge".

In the video you see a piece of Nara Crystal from above your head to the elevator platform and then ..... BOOM. Click on the blue button again to remove the control panel and go back over the "floating stone bridge" to the lift platform. Go forward 1 time and turn left and ..... The big Stone is gone now. Enter the elevator and then turn right to the Lifting Lever. SAVE GAME.

The Medallion:  

Stay away from the elevator handle. A Medallion is suspended from a chain under the handle. Zoom in on the Medallion. You see that there are 5 small circles around the Medallion. They are closed. In the middle of the medallion you can see gears. There is also a small lever there. Grab this handle and pull it down. This causes the gears to rotate and the 6 small circles now open. You now see a color in each of the 6 circles.

 

  PLEASE TAKE A PHOTO NOW !!!  

This is a very important clue for a puzzle that you have to solve in Serenia and this is also the reason why I first let you do Sprite before we, as last, do Serenia. The colors that you will see in the circles are randomly determined by the game itself. So with you it will most likely be different colors or in a different order in the circles. Eventually the elevator comes to a halt again. You are now at the point where you looked into this elevator shaft in the beginning. Exit the elevator 2 times and then turn right.

 

Well, climb all four steps back up, after each staircase you turn slightly to the left to climb up the next stairs.

After 4 flights of stairs you are completely above and near the Dome. Enter the dome and walk to the back  to the stone table.  

Open the table and zoom in on the Tomahna Linking Book. Open the book and click on the Link photo and enjoy the Tomahna Link movie again.

  Back in Tomahna:

You will arrive there in the Golden Globe again. Turn right again and turn the small lever to the right again to tilt the sphere so that you can go out. Then do that and ....... Well .... Where was the Serenia Linking Book again .... Oh yes .... Under Yeesha's room on the ramps. So you have to go back to Yeesha's room and go down there via the ladder behind the bookcase to the ramps. I'm not going to explain this again now. In Chapter 3 I explained to you how you can get to Yeesha's room from the Golden Globe. If you do not know this anymore, then you can pick up Chapter 3 again. So make sure you get back to Yeesha's room and go back to the bookcase. Click again on the right 5 books to lower the cupboard and then go down the ladder to the ramps. Turn left and go 2 times ahead to the Serenia Linking Book at the easel.  

  Open the Book and click on the Link photo and enjoy the Serenia Link movie again and you will end up in:
