You can buy Röki on Steam but also on  gog.com     I have version 1.07 and have had no problems with the game

NB: Tove has a lot to do and she has to do it in various areas. She will also have to go back and forth between the different areas here in the Deep Forest. As a player you now have a lot of freedom to do things. There is no set order in which to do things. My walkthrough tells you how I did it but this is not the only way you can do it all. You can do things in a different order if you want

Chapter 3: The Deep Forrest Part 2

A: Sharpen the Dagger

At the end of Chapter 2, Tove has left the Mother Tree through the right exit and she is now in the area to the right of the Mother Tree and the "Square". Tove urgently needs a sharpening stone to sharpen her dagger razor-sharp. So while we look for an opportunity to sharpen the dagger we will explore this area and we will also meet some creatures that are important to Tove

Start walking to the right and .... Tove ends up at a crossroads. You can go back to the left, you can go further to the right and you can go up to the Mill. At the stairway that goes up you see the entrance of a cave At the front house, right on the corner, are some plants in pots. You can take a closer look at those plants with your eye, but it is of no use to Tove.

Continue to the right until you see an inlet where smoke is coming up.

Walk into the inlet and walk to the back. The smoke comes from an opening in the snow pile under the tree

Look at the opening ........ Tove thinks she will fit through it, so click the down arrow to crawl into the opening

Tove has then ended up in a corridor underground via a ladder.

There are old rags in the hallway and you can take the rightmost rag. So take the rightmost Rag

Then walk to the right and ...... Tove ends up in the hole of a huge gray cat

Yule Cat Jolakötturinn

A conversation follows between the cat and Tove. This is the Yule Cat Jolakötturinn. Yule Cats are actually black and dangerous to humans, but this one is not  because Jolakötturinn fur has turned gray and he is not really happy about that. Because of his gray fur, Jolakötturinn is currently the laughing stock of the forest and no one is afraid of him anymore and that is really no life for a real Yule Kat

Tove promises to restore Jolakötturinn's fur to its former black glory. Jolakötturinn is busy roasting a nice ham that you can look at with your eye. As long as his furis gray he simply does not want to eat the ham. Tove doesn't know yet but she needs the Ham but you can't get the ham yet. Tove must first know that she needs the ham and then you can only get the ham after you give Jolakötturinn his black fur back and you cannot do that yet.

On the left corner of the platform, where Jolakötturinn is located, you can pick up a Loot Item ..... It is a jewel made of a bone

When there is nothing more to talk about, leave the cave back to the tunnel. Continue to the left and then climb back out via the ladder

Back outside you walk down and then you follow the main path further to the right and .....

...... Tove then reaches a deep ravine that she cannot cross.

There is an angled tree trunk that you can view with your eye, but Tove is not strong enough to push that trunk further down to cross over it to the other side of the ravine

So Tove cannot cross the ravine now. She needs help with that and she still has to get that help because she will have to cross the ravine at some point. Walk back to the crossroad and then walk up but do not go up further up via the stairs path. Just before the stairway you dive into the 2nd cave and .....

Tove has then ended up in the cave of:

Trollhulde

Trollhulde is the sister of Trollhilde and she has a frog young as a pet. Apparently Trollhulde is afraid that the frog  will run away because it is chained to a chain. Watch the frog with your eye and then listen to the conversation in which Trollhulde will also interfere. This frog is a Krokeling and his name is Krunk. Krunk is the brother of the Krokeling who is hidden in the barrel downstairs in the snow hut. Krunk is held hostage here by Trollhulde.

When Trollhulde is no longer facing Krunk and Tove, click with the talk cursor on Krunk to resume the conversation with Krunk

Krunk would like to escape and he has already loosen the chain that is holding him enough but Trollhulde will see it if he tries to run away now. Tove promises to help but she needs something to divert Trollhulde's attention from Trunk. Talk to Trollhulde who will then welcome Tove to her cave. Trollhilde is suffering from slugs in her cave and she has taken Krunk hostage to eat those slugs.

You see 2 lighter spots on the floor of the cave. Look at those 2 lighter spots with your eye and ...... Trollhilde then tells that it is slime from the slugs

In the right corner is a table and plants. There is a stone bowl on the table and a recipe book. There is also a wooden tool box on the table.

Walk into the bottom right corner. In the corner near the plants is such a green slimy Slug. Grab the Slug

Look at the stone bowl on the table. Trollhulde uses the stone bowl to grind her plants and herbs.

Look at  the recipe book with your eye and do it a few times until Tove reads the recipe for brewing a Sleepy Tea drink

Tove needs the Sleepy Tea drink to get hold of Trollhilde's flute. The ingredients for the Sleepy Tea drink are a Valerian-of-the-Mountain Flower, a Whispering Flower and a Sapor Lily. All this must be ground to powder and then boiled in boiling water. Tove records the Sleepy Tea recipe in her diary

Tove has already found The Whispervine Flower, at the top of the church tower above the church bell.

At the wooden toolbox you can pick up a Loot Item ... it is a Snake Skin

Leave Trollhulde's cave and then climb further up via the stairway and ...... Tove comes at the:

The Watermill

Sharpen the Dagger

Continue to the bridge of the watermill and ..... Tove has found the 2nd Waytree .....

On the 2 thick roots of the tree are ravens again and the gray door of the tree is overgrown by those stems. Scare the ravens away by walking towards them. However, the tree does not "wake up" yet because of those gray stems and Tove cannot cut those stems out of the way yet because her dagger has not yet been sharpened

Walk up the bridge but don't enter the mill yet. On the left side of the bridge, Tove can climb down a ladder to the river

Climb down and walk down to the bank. There are coins on 3 rock platforms. Look at the coins with your eye

Look at the water with your eye. Krunk's mother live in this water, but Tove has to throw coins in the water to get mama frog up out of the water

Climb back up the ladder to the bridge and then enter the mill.

Right in the corner are a few wooden barrels. There is a box of matches on the left barrel. Get the matches. There are 3 matches in the box

To the left of the barrels is the fireplace with a cooking pot in it, but no fire is burning. On the left side you can go down the ladder to the bottom floor of the mill, but don't do this yet. On the right is a food bowl in front of a hole in the wall. The food bowl is in a circle drawn on the floor. Take the food bowl

When you have taken the food bowl and the matches, walk to the left. You will then see the rear / entrance of the mill. 

There are a few wooden beams on the snowy floor. Take the left wooden beam. It is beautiful dry wood with which Tove can light a fire in the fireplace

Walk out the back door. Tove is then on the porch at the rear of the mill. 

Do not go down the steps yet, but walk around the right corner and then continue to the back.

At the end of the veranda is the hoist to lift buckets of water. Unfortunately, the lever has disappeared

Walk back and now descend the steps and continue to the left and ..... Tove is then at Gate B.

Gate B is also blocked by those annoying stems so Tove cannot go any further here

Gate B is the entrance to the Poisonous Forest, but we cannot go there yet. Walk back into the mill and then descend the ladder to the "engine room" of the mill

It's a mess in the engine room. The gears with which the waterwheel must be driven are all apart.

There is a large sharpening stone and a wooden mallet in the back. Take the mallet

Check out the grindstone .... The thing doesn't work because the water wheel can't turn.

On the ledge, in front of the large gear, is a Loot Item, but Tove cannot grab it yet because the gears are in the way

Look at the drive shaft ... the thing broke off

To the left behind is a crank / handle  on the ledge. Take the crank / handle.

Climb back up the ladder and then go out again through the back door. Follow the veranda to the right around the corner to the water hoist

Drag the Crank / Handle to the hoist

Then click on the crank / handle and ...... Tove will crank up a full bucket of water. Get the bucket

Go back into the mill and walk to the fireplace. Drag the wooden beam to the fireplace and let go. Then drag the matches to the fireplace and ...

Tove makes a nice fire in the fireplace and she is left with 2 matches. Drag the Porridge can to the cooking pot. Then pour the water from the bucket into the cooking pot

The porridge is ready so fill the bowl with the Porridge porridge

Walk to the place where the food bowl was and put the now filled bowl back there on the floor and ...

A gnome, a Tomte, crawls out of the hole in the wall.

De Tomte is grateful to Tove for the porridge and Tove asks for his help to fix the mill mechanism. 

The gnome disappears down so follow the gnome down and .... De Tomte magically repairs the mechanism.

Now Tove can also grab that Loot Item so do that now

Stand at the sharpening stone and drag the dagger to the sharpening stone and .....

... our young heroine appears to be at home in all markets because she is now sharpening her dagger razor-sharp.

Climb back up and exit the mill through the front door and continue to the Waytree. Now cut those damn stems out of the way with the now razor-sharp dagger and .....

..... this 2nd Waytree now also comes back to life and the door / portal is now a direct connection with the Mother Tree.

From now on, Tove can travel quickly to the Mill via the Mother Tree and back

Don'tgo back to the Mother Tree, but go back into the mill and go out through the back door, then go down the stairs again and continue to Gate B.

Drag the sharpened dagger to the stems blocking Gate B to cut them out of the way

B: The Poisonous Forest: Part 1:

Gate B is now "liberated" so walk through. Tove has landed in a clearing in a new part of the forest. Straight ahead, Tove can go further down a stairway to a lower part of this forest. On the left is a petrified troll between the trees and on the right you see a wooden sign with a hand drawn on it.

Walk to the right and look at that wooden sign with your eye. The ground under the sign has been turned up and Tove thinks something is buried here.

Tove doesn't have a shovel yet and she can't dig with the dagger. So Tove will have to come back here when she has found something to dig with

Walk back to the middle and then forward and now descend the path and ..... Tove ends up on a large "Square" and when you open the map you will see that we have ended up in:

This is a larger clearing in the woods. In the center is a shallow round pit. Behind the pit you see the back wall. In the middle of the back wall is passage A. On the left is passage B above 3 mushrooms. On the right is pond D and above the pond you see passage C. To the right of passage A is column E. In the pond you see a frog / krokeling.  2 "eyes" are on the wall next to passage A

First, walk to that frog that is in the pond. Get the talk cursor to talk to this little frog.

However, the frog cub wants to be left alone. However, this is Krunk's 2nd brother, but Tove does not know that yet,

After this first conversation with the krokeling you walk along the pond to the left. You will then see passage F.

Passage F seems open but when Tove gets closer F it gets blocked by stems.

Walk into the corner at the pond to get a closer look at that corner.

There is an "Eye" on the wall and you can pick up a Loot Item near the mushrooms, so take that Loot Item

Then try to take the "Eye" from the wall, but Tove can't do that yet

Walk to passage F and ... the stems appear again to block F. Walk back a little and ..... the stems in F disappear, but if you put Tove close to F again, the stems will reappear. 

See if Tove can cut the stems with her dagger. At first it seems to work, but ..... the stems reappear.

Tove cannot cut the stems in F because they keep coming back. This is because of those "Eyes" sticking to the wall. The "eyes" protect the passageways A, B, C and F by making the stems appear. If you try to walk through passage A then this will not work either because those stems in A also block the passage.

Take a closer look at column E through your eye cursor.

Tove sees 3 symbols on column E and she thinks these 3 symbols could be important. Draw these 3 symbols on a piece of paper.

Walk back to A and then go left to B. Walk up to B via the mushrooms and also in B, stems appear that Tove cannot cut, no matter how many times she tries.

Go back down, then walk a little further and then go to the left between the boulders

Tove is then in a circular cove and here she sees 3 turning stones with the symbols she just saw on column E.

The 3 symbols on the 3 turning stones are turned the wrong way around so you have to turn the 3 stones A, B, C until each symbol is exactly as you saw them on column E.

It is neither difficult nor complicated

When you have turned the 3 symbols correctly, a staircase slides open in the ground, so descend down the stairs and ....

Tove ends up in the underground lair of:

Shroomi

This appears to be a kind of laboratory and in the middle is a large cooking pot steaming over the fire. No one seems to be there, but appearances are deceptive, as Tove will soon find out. To the left of the stairs is a white glass jar on the table. Take the glass jar

to the right is a desk with drawers and the bottom drawer is open. Walk to the desk. There is a trowel in the opened drawer. Take the trowel and ....

 

... the occupant of this lab is now reporting but he is invisible and does not say his name, but his name is Shroomi and he is a kind of mushroom, as you will see later. Shroomi doesn't like it so much that Tove steals his stuff, but Tove gets to keep the glass jar and the trowel. Shroomi. Tove explains a few things and Shroomi wants to help her. To be able to pass through passageways A, B, C and F, Tove must also become invisible.

Shroomi can make a mask for Tove to make her invisible, but Shroomi needs some stuff for that, which Tove must first find and then dump here in the cooking pot. Shroomi writes down the ingredients on a piece of paper and then sticks that piece of paper to the wall by the stairs.

So go and look at that piece of paper with your eye and ...

Tove then notes in her diary which things to look for for that invisibility mask and that are:

A bearded  Kroke's Hair, 2 Nattamare Parasites and a Ram's Skull."

Shroomi tells that getting the hair from a bearded Kroke can be tricky.

Exit Shroomi's cave and then walk out of the cove and now go all the way into the bottom left corner and ...... Tove has found the 3rd Waytree

This Waytree also suffers from stems and ravens that sit on its thick roots, left and right of the tree.

First chase away the 2 ravens and then cut the stems out of the way with the dagger and ...

...... the tree does not come to life yet ... apparently there is still a raven somewhere on a root of the tree.

Go find that carrot and chase away the 3rd raven. You can find the 3rd raven down at passage B in the corner

Back to the tree and now the tree comes to life and the portal in the tree is now activated.

So now Tove can quickly travel here via the Mother Tree and back to the Mother Tree. 

Don't do this now though, because now that Tove has stolen Shroomi's Trowel, she can dig into the ground near the hand sign. 

So now go back to the sign where the hand is drawn on

Back at the sign, use the Trowel on the turned soil and ...

.... Tove digs up a bag of coins and automatically puts the coins in her backpack

For now we are ready here in the Poisoned Forest, but we will come back here later because Tove still has a lot to do here. But first we now go back to Gate A, to the left of the snow hut. You can quickly return to the Mother Tree via the Waytree 3 or the Waytree 2 that is in front of the Mill. You have to know for yourself. You can of course also take the healthy route by simply walking back to the mill, crossing through the mill and then walk back to the Mother Tree

Back in the Mother Tree you can quickly return to the cemetery via portal B and then you leave the cemetery and follow the path, over the stone bridge, to Gate A, left past the snow hut.

Chop the stems out of Gate A with the dagger and then continue to end up in:
