Sam And Max Save the World. Episode 2"Situation Comedy

We start this 2nd episode of Sam and Max back in their office. Our two cheerful heroes chase away the boredom with a game of Paintball shooting when the phone rings. The Commissioner needs the help of the Freeware Police. Myrna Stump, the popular talk show host, holds her guests hostage and leaves me valuable gifts. If you open the inventory box you will see that Sam has his gun and the tear gas grenade launcher with him.

Turn on the TV, which is on the left side of the desk, and watch Myrna Stump terrorize her studio audience.

At a certain point Max can't stand it anymore and turns off the TV. Leave the office through the Office door.

On the street, walk to the left, towards the police car parked in the side street.

Click on the police car and then click on "The TV studio" in the text screen and Sam and Max end up in the:

On the right is the "Directors Chair". Walk to the right and keep doing so until you see the Director. Talk to the Director.

The Director is quite offended that Sam thinks she is a "stage hand". So the Director is not exactly in a friendly mood. The conversation screen appears. Use all conversation options and you will find out that the Director is not exactly a fan of Myrna Stump. The director also says that she is looking for actors for the film "Midnight Cowboys". You will then get the option "We'd like to audition". Since this is apparently the only way to get into the recording studio where Myrna's show is being recorded, you click on "We'd like to audition" and....The Director wants Max to play a dog that has rabies. You will then see Sam and Max.......Click on Max and..............

Sam does his best, but it doesn't work out very well and the Director is not satisfied. So Sam and Max are not allowed into the recording studio.

Sam needs some acting lessons. Walk back to the left and then leave the studio through the purple Exit door.

Sam and Max automatically drive back to the side street in the police car. Walk to the right, to:

Enter the shop and talk to Bosco. Bosco has disguised himself. Ask Bosco "Why the disguise?". Bosco does not want to know that he is Bosco and babbles a strange language... English... Continue with "Seriously, why the disguise?" After Bosco's answer, continue asking "Who's got it in for you?" The Skinbodies cause Bosco quite a bit of trouble.

Skinbodies are like Skinheads but 100 times worse.So ask further about these Skinbodies and Bosco tells you that the Skinbodies are stealing shaving soap from the store. If you ask why his safety system does not knock out the Skinbodies, you will experience that Bosco has converted the system. The security system now only comes into action when someone brings something INTO the store.

Now that we know this, you say to Bosco "We wanna buy something" and then you ask "What've you got". Bosco tells that he has exactly 1 can of shaving soap left and some strange device that he has "under the counter". So ask "What's behind the counter" and Bosco will tell you that he has a voice modulator for sale. So say you want to buy that voice modulator. Bosco will ask 30 shillings for it. Unfortunately, Sam and Max don't have Shillings, so Max asks how much it is in Dollars. After some math, Bosco says his voice modulator costs $1 million. Well.... there isn't that much in Sam and Max's purse, so they decide to just buy the last can of shaving soap. So click on "We'll take that shaving cream". However, Sam has to grab the can of shaving soap himself and take it to the counter. End the conversation.

The can of Shaving cream is on the round table, which is located on the right in front of the counter.

...a "naked-skinned" Rat jumps on the table and steals the last can of shaving soap. The Skinbodies are at it again.

As you walk down the street to the left you see a tiny yellow car racing back and forth through the street. In that car is the rat that stole the shaving soap.

Click on the police car and then click on "After those rats" and you will start with:

Rat chase:

Sam and Max race in the police car after the little yellow car with the rats in it. At the bottom left are your gun, your megaphone and your horn. You always see an open sewer pit in the middle of the street. There is a warning sign at those open sewer pits. The idea is to "drive" the rats' yellow car to the middle of the street so that the yellow car ends up in such an open sewer pit. If that happens, the rat holding the can of shaving soap will let go of the can of shaving soap and Sam will then catch that can of shaving soap.

First you have to make sure that Sam and Max drive straight behind the yellow car. So keep clicking on the yellow car with your arrow cursor until the police car drives right behind it. Then click on the gun and aim and shoot left and right next to the yellow car to drive the yellow car to the middle of the road

So you have to shoot left and right next to the yellow car so that the yellow car drives exactly over the white center line of the street. First make sure that the yellow car drives all the way to the left or all the way to the right and then chase the car to the middle line. Make sure you drive the yellow car on the center line just in front of a sewer pit, because then it can no longer avoid the pit. The yellow car then drives into the pit and Sam then catches the Can of Shaving Soap and parks the police car again in the side street.

Back in the side street, after the Rat chase, click on the door of Sybil's to enter. In Episode 1, Sybil had a practice for psychoanalysis, but Sybil has exchanged the "crazy profession" for the publishing profession. Sybil publishes the magazine "Alien Love Triangle Times". Talk to Sybil. Sybil asks if Sam and Max have sneaky photos of little green men for her. Respond with "Huh" or with "What" and then continue talking to Sybil through the topics you are given. But be sure to ask "What was that about a photo?" and then continue with "Tell me more about the photo you need".

Sybil needs a cover photo for her magazine. There must be 3 people visible in the photo, of which at least 1 must be an alien. Continue talking to Sybil and then ask her if she knows any interesting facts about Aliens. Sybil then claims that Elvis Presley and Stephen King are Aliens disguised as humans. Then say goodbye and leave Sybil's. Get back into the police car and drive back to:

Walk to the right again, to the Director. Talk to the Director again and ask "Can we audition again?".

Take the can of Shaving Soap Cream from the inventory box and click with it on Sam and.........

Sam does a very convincing rabid dog performance. Then Max has to imitate an emotional boy.

Take the Tear Gas Grenade Launcher from the inventory box and then click on Max with the crosshairs and.....

Sam shoots a tear gas grenade at Max and he responds by shooting Sam with his gun. It's a good thing that Sam is wearing the anti-hypnosis helmet under his helmet. Sam and Max are accepted and are now allowed into the recording studio. Behind the Director is the blue door of the studio where Midnight Cowboys is recorded.

The Director of the set is already there and a conversation follows. The Director explains the scenes she wants to shoot with Sam and Max. Sam and Max are 2 hobby ranchers who manage a herd of cows from their living room. Unfortunately, their landlord does not allow cows to be kept. So Sam and Max have 1 cow in their living room and they have to keep it a secret from their landlord, who keeps dropping in unexpectedly. It comes down to improvisation, but during the recording Max has to say the sentence "Better get the serious Toothpaste" because of the sponsorship.

The conversation screen appears. You can immediately ask "Let's start taping" or you can first ask "What's this show about again" and/or "What's Max's line again" to hear the Director explain it all again. When you are ready to start, say "Let's start taping". So Sam and Max act in the scene for the movie Midnight Cowboys. The landlord is banging at the door and wants to be let in, because he suspects that there is a cow in the room.

On the green table, on the right, is a white breakfast plate, take it. The green chair has a standing table lamp with a lampshade. Take the lampshade from the standing table lamp. Walk to the left and you will see the Cow. Well...the cow has to be disguised because the landlord is not allowed to know that there is a cow in the room. Behind the cow there is a pile of cow shit...er...Cowpie on the floor.

Take the Lampshade from the inventory box and then place the lampshade on the horns of the cow and............ Chicken Featherly comes in and asks who the guy is who is visiting Sam and Max. You get several answer options, but because the Cow looks like a chef with the lampshade, you say "Our Chef", and Sam tells Featherly that the cow is a French Chef. Featherly is impressed and remains crouched at the front of the cow.

Walk to the left, to the back of the cow. So behind the cow there is a Cowpie on the floor.

Sam puts the pile of cow dung on the plate. Featherly also walks up to the cow's rump, sees the tail and bites it, causing the cow to exclaim a loud "Moo." Featherly wants to know what the chef said and you are given different answer options.
So tell Featherly that "moo" is the name of a French dish, so click on "Moo goo gai pan, a deliciousa food".........Featherly wants to taste that and so Featherly takes a few big bites of cow shit. And this ends this crazy scene. The Director is happy because the entire scene was shot satisfactorily and as a thank you for their cooperation, Sam receives the Midtown Cowboys Clip Videotape from the Director. Walk to the left again. To the left behind the cow is the "Embarrassing Idol Door".

The 3 Soda Poppers, Specs, Peepers and Whizzer are here and the Director is again an exact copy of the previous 2 Directors.

We have ended up in a singing competition and the 3 Soda Poppers are the judges.

But Peepers wants to participate as a singer himself, but then there will be one jury member too few. Max is therefore asked to take Peepers' place as a 3rd jury member. Peepers then croons his tune, on a diving board above a pool of acid with a shark swimming in it. Specs votes for Peepers, because he liked Peepers' high tones so much. And Whizzer also votes for Peepers because they are brothers. Only Max votes against.

Use all options, but be sure to ask everything about this "Embarrassing Idols show".

To win the singing competition, a participant must receive a vote from all 3 jury members and yes, Sam can also participate as a participant and Max immediately promises to give his vote to Sam. The winner will win an "exploitation contract with a major record company". Finally say "That seems clear" and then end the conversation.

Walk to the right. So the judges Max, Specs and Whizzer are behind their counter. Talk to Specs and ask: "About Embarrassing Idol.....", and "What do you look for in a singer?". Specs will always vote for the person who can sing beautiful high notes. Talk to Whizzer and also ask him who he will vote for. Whizzer will always vote for someone related to him. It's also Whizzer's birthday today and only Peepers has thought about his birthday. So congratulate Whizzer and then ask "What kind of perks do judges get?" and Whizzer says he asked for a birthday cake but got a box of tomatoes. And Whizzer doesn't like tomatoes. Close the conversation and walk to the right until Sam is standing with Peepers in the right corner. Talk to Peepers and ask him anything. It's not really important.

Next to Peepers is an Apple crate. Peepers Lyrics is on the Apple Chest. Grab the Lyric Paper.

Leave this set through the Midnight Cowboy door (Sitcom door), behind Peepers.

Sam and Max are then back on the Midnight Cowboys Set. Continue to the right.

Behind the breakfast table is the "Cooking Show" door. Go through the Cooking Show door and we end up at:

Also talk to the Director here. The Director says that the Cooking Show is being broadcast live. Unfortunately, the host contracted food poisoning, so the show is currently without a chef/host. Once you have asked the Director everything, you close. Walk further into the set to the right. Sam is then standing in front of the kitchen. The gas stove is located in the "kitchen island".

There is a large cooking pot on the gas stove. Next to the gas stove there is a frying pan and crockery. Click on the large cooking pot and Sam goes into the kitchen and the show starts. Sam has put a chef's hat on his head and Max asks what we are going to cook. You get to choose from various dishes. Choose "A Cake". You will then see the cupboard with ingredients. Click on any pot, it really doesn't matter which you choose.

Sam puts the ingredient in the cooking pot and you switch back to the ingredient cupboard.

You will now see the Oven symbol at the bottom left. Click on the Oven symbol and ...........

........Sam puts the cooking pot in the oven and immediately takes out a beautiful cake.

Walk to the right so that Sam walks out of the kitchen again, and then walk to the left and go back to the Midnight Cowboys Set via the Sitcom Door.

The middle door in the Midnight Cowboys Set is the "Games Show Door". Go through the Games Show Door and we end up at the:

Hugh wants you to choose a color. Choose Green and....Hugh turns green. Then ask Hugh "Can we get a photo with you" and.....Sam gets a photo with a green Hugh Bliss on it. Say goodbye to Hugh and the Director asks if Hugh wants to do the presentation of the show. Walk to the left, to the place where the quiz is recorded. There are 2 blue music stands with a microphone on the stage. Click on the left lectern and Sam will stand behind it and...the show will begin.

Hugh asks a question and Sam has to answer. However, Sam doesn't know the answer. Click on one of the options you get. The show ends and Hugh puts the question cards back in the tray on the side of the right lectern. Walk to the right desk. On the side of the right desk is the tray containing the question cards (Card slot). Click on that question card tray and.............

Sam takes out the cards with questions. Then take Peeper's Lyrics from your inventory box and put them in the card tray.

Stand behind the left desk again by clicking on it again and the show will start again. Hugh now asks "Am I Blue"......Hugh is not blue, so answer "No" and... Sam wins 1 million dollars. But the studio doesn't have $1 million, so Sam and Max have to make do with $1 million worth of food stamps. Walk all the way to the right, to where Hugh is standing and you will see the purple "Myrna" door. Click on the Myrna door and we finally meet.......

Myrna Stump herself appears in the door. Ask Myrna "Can we come in". After Sam asks a little more politely, Myrna says that only celebrities who appear on the show are allowed in. So next ask "Can we be guests on your show?", but Myrna wants proof that Sam and Max are celebrities. To get in, Sam must be able to show Myrna a record deal, a video clip from a TV show and a juicy scandal. ....Sam already has a video clip of the Midnight Cowboys Show, so say "we have a clip of our sitcom" and Sam shows Myrna the video clip. Unfortunately it is not enough. There's still a record deal and a juicy scandal to be produced. So end the conversation. Walk back to the left and go through the Midnight Cowboys door again and then through the Idols door to the Idols set in the Midnight Cowboys set. Walk to the left on the Idols set and then leave the TV studio through the Exit door. Sam and Max drive back to the side street in the police car. Go back to:

Take the Photo of Hugh Bliss from your inventory box and give the photo to Sybil.

Sybil is very enthusiastic and she immediately prints her magazine with the photo with Sam and Max and Hugh as a green alien man.

There are 2 magazine vending machines in front of the Bosco store, a yellow one and a green one. There is Sybil's magazine in the yellow vending machine.

Click on the Click on the yellow magazine dispenser and Sam takes out a copy of Sybil's magazine. Enter Bosco's shop and talk to Bosco. Say "We wanna buy something" and then buy the Voice Modulator now and you pay for the thing with food stamps. The Voice Changer turns out to be a helium balloon attached to an inhaler

Walk to the left, to the "Fine Kwizine" corner of the store. The Condiments appliance is located on the far left of the kitchenette. Click on it and it turns out to be a dispenser that comes out with Ketchup, Mustard and Purple Stuff. Take the Cake from your inventory box. Click the Cake on the Condiments device and Sam puts a layer of Ketchup on it.

Leave the store and drive the police car back to the TV Studio. So we end up back at:

Walk to the right again, to the jury table. Max takes his place as a jury member again.

Take the Cake from your inventory box and give the Cake to Whizzer, who is celebrating his birthday after all.

Whizzer doesn't like the ketchup and Whizzer is smearing it. The Director decides that two jury members should be sufficient. Now for Sam's big appearance. Take the Voice Modulator from your inventory box and click with it on Sam. Sam inhales the helium and gets a very high-pitched voice. Walk to the right and click on the Microphone at the front of the diving board and.......

The screen will then give you a number of options that you can click on. It really doesn't matter at all what you choose. So click on one of the 4 sentences and Sam announces the song he wants to sing. Then click on one of the 4 new sentences again and Sam starts to sing. Sam's high-pitched voice makes Specs' glasses jump. Continue clicking on the sentences in the text screen until the jury automatically casts their vote. Sam wins and receives the recording contract.

Walk to the right again and go through the Midnight Cowboys door and then the Gameshow door back to the Set of the Millionaires quiz and then go back to the Myrna door. Click on the Myrna Door again: Ask Myrna again "How do we get on your show again?" and Myrna explains it again. Then click on "We have a recording contract" and Sam shows Myrna the recording contract. Then say "We're on the cover of a Tabloid" and Sam shows Myrna Sybil's magazine. Sam and Max are now allowed to enter, after Myrna has explained the rules. Bessy, the cow from Midnight Cowboys, was Myrna's last guest and is now leaving the set. Sam and Max are called in and walk to Myrna.

To Myrna's right there is a bear on the table and Myrna seems hypnotized by the bear. When Sam gets too close to the bear, Myrna stops him. Sam and Max have to take a seat on the couch. There is also a microphone on Myrna's table. Sparks are flying from the microphone, so apparently that microphone is about to fail and short out. Myrna asks Sam something and the text screen appears. Say "I'd rather relive my embarrasing Idol glory".

Myrna approves of this and Sam is allowed to sing a song. You regain control.

Myrna now goes "blabla...." all the time and Sam sits on the sofa. The Banjo is next to Sam.

Take the Voice Modulator from your box and click on Sam again. Then click on the Banjo and.......

...... Sam sings another song, but now in a high voice. This causes the glass of water that is on Myrna's table to break. Click on Myrna and then say "About that picture in the Times....". Sam says there is something strange going on with the photo and Myrna wants to know what is going on with the photo. Now say "There was someone else involved". Myrna wants to know who else should be in the photo. Now answer "Bessy the Cow" and.....Myrna calls Bessy the Cow back on set and grabs the sparking microphone to interview Bessy and...

.....the Microphone now short-circuits ......the hypnotic robot burns and Myrna falls unconscious to the floor......The hypnosis of the robot is thus canceled and Myrna will be herself again when she wakes up......We then see Myrna lying unconscious on the floor.....There is a box near Myrna......we zoom in on the box......it is the box that contained the robot.......the robot was apparently a present from The Toy Mafia...... Sam and Max have solved another Case, but who are these Toy Mafia? Maybe we'll find out in:
