Chapter 5: Valsembor 3: Underwater

  Find the Mayor

  Leave the ferry again and walk back to Steiner's workshop, but do not go inside now.

  Follow the street to the left and at the end of the street you go up the stairs. Kate landed on a terrace at the top.

  Go to the right and down a flight of stairs and Kate will arrive at the Town Hall Square

Walk forward and wander around until you get an overview of the round square with a huge statue of Oscar the automaton. Behind Oscar is the mayor on the platform of the town hall to address the crowd of demonstrators. Walk to the Town Hall and then climb one of the two stairs to the landing and address the mayor.  

  Talk to the mayor and use all the options,  ask first if he wants to open the locks.  

The Mayor resists. Then talk about the departure of the Youkols and then about the elections. Kate convinced the mayor of the need to reopen the locks, to get rid of the Youkols, but Kate will have to take care of that herself. The mayor gives Kate the instructions for opening the locks.

  The conversation is over, so go off the platform again. You can now take the same road back or you immediately go left down the stairs.

  Then follow the street to the left and at the end you go down on the right and follow the street

  Then turn right, go straight and then left into the street to the quay and then on to the Krystal

  Go back on board the Krystal and go to the captain in the wheelhouse. Talk to Obo again

  Obo refuses to go diving, so Kate will have to dive to open the lock gates. Obo has diving equipment standing in the shed near the lighthouse and he and Kate agree to meet again there.

 Diving equipment

 Leave the ferry and walk to the back of the boat and then go to the right and follow the quay until you reach the foot of the lighthouse.

  At the shed Obo is waiting for Kate and he has already opened the shed, so go inside. A yellow diving suit hangs on the coat rack on the right and empty oxygen bottles are on the floor

  Zoom in on the coat rack. You have to put a few clothes on the side and you can take the diving suit.

  To the right of the coat rack you will find a few empty oxygen tanks on the floor, take them

  Turn to the left and you will see a changing room. In the cove, to the left of the changing room you will find a diving helmet on a shelf. Grab the diving helmet.

  Turn to the left wall and click on the white dot, you zoom in on the wall.

  At the top left is a pressure gauge and on the right is a connection point for oxygen tanks.

  Zoom in on the connection point. Select the oxygen tanks and examine them in your inventory, zoom in on the picture and read that the pressure should be 180 bar.

  Select the oxygen bottles and hang them in the bracket of the connection point.

  Zoom out and then in on the box with the pressure gauge.

  Turn the 6-sided knob until the pressure is 180 bar. Then press the green button, the machine will shake.

  Zoom out and then back in on the oxygen tanks. Now pull down the gray bar and then pull down the left red handle and release. If the pressure is good, the lever will spring back up.

  Then pull the right red lever down and release and if the pressure is good again the red and the gray lever will jump up.

The oxygen tanks are again in the inventory. Now step into the changing room and .........

  Underwater: Open the locks

  Kate comes out of the barn in the diving equipment. Kate walks down the stairs into the water and gets underwater

  You then see a round metal door in the wall of the dam and Kate walks over the bottom of the lake to the dam wall

  Walk along the dam wall to the right until you reach a round metal door. This is then lock door A

  You see a red wheel and 3 short metal rods on the round door, on the ground you will find a gear and a square key. First take the gear

  Then walk a little further to the right and ......

  Then take a square key from the bottom

  Then zoom in on the mechanism of the round door

  At the bottom of the door are two more gear wheels, grab them both

 

  Kate got from the mayor a schedule for the gears of the lock ..... look at this schedule in your inventory and you see what you have to do with the 3 gears.

 

  You have to place the 3 gears on the 3 pins of the door, but each gear must be on the right pin. If you place a wrong gear on a pin, the gear falls on the bottom and you have to pick it up again.

Here you see how it should be.

 

  Now you still need a chain to get things going. Zoom out and walk to the right, along the wall and the lock gates and you will reach door B.

  Zoom in on door B

  You can open the lid with the square key, but that is not necessary. Turn the red wheel until you cannot go any further, you will hear a sound. Then pull the lever down.

  A short video shows you how the right lock B opens. Walk to the left and go through the lock gate B.

Before you see 2 white boards lying behind each other, A and B. walk to plank B and go from there to the left.

  You will then arrive at a shipwreck. There are 2 click places on the wreck. The foremost shows you in a video how Kate continues to middle of the wreck and there lies the wanted chain.

  Take the chain ......

  Now Kate has to go back to lock gate A and this can be difficult. Do not go back to the shelves A and B or to door B.

Now walk around the shipwreck anticlockwise and then down to the left and Kate will arrive at the wall of lock B

 

  Walk down the wall and then turn around the corner to get out of lock B ........

  ....... and then follow the wall back to the mechanism of lock gate A

  Zoom back in on the mechanism and then place the chain to connect the gears to the red turning wheel.

  When the chain is on the gears, click on the red wheel and turn the red wheel anticlockwise with the mouse pressed.

  If you cannot turn the red wheel any further, you will hear a sound again, then pull the lever on the right side down and .......

  You will see in a video that Kate pull the lever down and .... you see that the lock door opens and .......

  Kate's underwater adventure is now over, so she comes out of the water and a moment later she is dressed again on the quay at the captain, she gets a compliment from the captain.

  Youkol camp

  Kate says she will get the Youkols and she will return to the Youkol camp.
