Chapter 7: The Monster of the Lake

A: Activate the icebreakers of the Krystal

Kate is still in the wheelhouse of the Krystal and she has to activate the icebreakers of the ferry. Go down the right or the left stairs to the passenger room. Walk to the centre aisle and then continue backwards. On the floor near the corner of the bank on your left is a folder with handmade matches, take this.

Walk further to the back and turn to the right after the last bench, you see stairs going down. So descend the stairs and you are in the engine room. There is a staircase further down,  go down and then up the stairs on the left side. You are now on  a walkway in front of the machines.

Walk to the middle of the walkway and zoom in on the control panel for the icebreakers.

On the control panel Kate sees: Turn wheel A, red button B, lever C, Joystick D and arrow E.

Turn turning wheel A anticlockwise until it stops and .... an axle is extended above the control panel.

Button B is under a transparent cover. Lift the lid and press button B

Under the arrow E you can slide joystick D to 3 other positions through the slot. . E is now at position 0. you see a lever with 4 positions, it is now at position 0.

Move joystick E to position 1. Then pull lever C down ........

Arrow E moves to the right, quickly..... move Joystick D to position 3 ..... and ..... when arrow E has passed the green area, move Joystick D quickly to position 2.

If you have done it correct and quick enough then the icebreakers are activated and you see in a video how the Krystal breaks through the ice.

If you did it not correct or if you were not fast enough, the whole console would turn off and you should try again from pressing button B .....

If you have gone wrong several times, the captain will report, who will then give you instructions through the speaking-tube.

B: The Monster in the Lake

After the icebreakers have been turned on and the Krystal has broken through the ice, Kate is back on the bridge. Suddenly there is a lot of noise again but now it's at the back of the boat. Kate has to check what is going on, so go down from the wheelhouse to the passengers inside deck. There is a chest under the middle row of benches on the right side. Zoom in and pull the box away from under the bench.

Open the box and after a short search in the box you will find a distress signal (Flare). Take the Flare.

Then go out through the back door and walk to the stern and ............

PANIC ....... A huge monster pops up and "embraces" the Krystal and threatens to sink the boat ...

The monster threatens to "hug Kate" but Obo takes the monster under fire with his gun

Unfortunately ...... Obo's bullets are all gone ...... Obo says that the monster is probably attracted by the light of the 6 big spotlights of the Krystal .....

Kate must switch off the six spotlights.

Kate is still on the back deck. There are 6 large poles with spotlights on the Krystal railings around the barge. Kate has to break those 6 spotlights, but that requires something she can use to smash the lights. Walk to the right ...... on the corner of the large cabin is a chest in the gangway ...... Click on the chest and ..... Kate takes the crowbar that is standing against the chest.

Past the chest is spotlight 1 at the railing, so walk on and then click on spotlight 1

Kate cranks the spotlight down and you go out of the close-up. Then click on the spotlight again and with the crowbar Kate kills the spotlight

Walk further forward, to spotlight 2 on the front deck .... and ........ If Kate lands at spotlight 2, it is struck by a tentacle of the monster and this saves Kate the work

Walk on and go up the 2 stairs to the bow and spotlight 3 and smash it also with the crowbar.

Descend back on the left side and then walk on to spotlight 4. Click on the post so that Kate cranks the spotlight downwards.

Then click on the spotlight again and Kate also smashes number 4

Continue to spotlight 5 and click on it .... Kate wants to turn it down too, but the handle is stuck.

Walk to the box behind it and click on it and Kate pushes the box to spotlight 5.

You get 2 white dots on the box, click on the bottom white dot and ....... and Kate climbs on the box.

Now break the lamp and then click on the white dot and Kate climbs down again.

Still to go is spotlight 6 but that is on the stern, so walk to the aft-deck again and......... The camera will show you spotlight 6 from behind.

. Click on the spotlight and ....... Kate says she cannot reach it as long as the monster is at the lamp.

Walk towards the lamp as far as possible until the monster attacks you. Then open your inventory and then select the distress signal (flare) and use it on the spotlight ........

Kate ignites the torch and throws it overboard a little  later, the tentacle of the monster goes after it ....... Quick .... click on spotlight 6 again and ...... Kate is now smashes also this one.

The monster let  the ship go and Kate talks to the captain at the railing, use the options you got to speak to the captain.

Then the monster is back… ..... and this time the monster tries to pull the Krystal to the bottom of the lake.

Obo says that the monster  is attracted by the sounds of the engines. Kate now must shut down the engine

Walk through the back door, to the left and then down the stairs to the engine room. Go all the way down and up the steps to the walkway, past the icebreaker control panel. Walk even further to the right and you will find the lever to stop the engines. Pull the lever down.

Go back up and out through the back door. Walk to the railing where you found the crowbar, the captain is sitting there in a sloop, talk to the captain.

C: Obo's last performance:

Obo is planning something, but for his plan he needs a lamp, which Kate has to look for. Walk back to the left and enter the passenger compartment through the back door.

Again inside you take the left-hand staircase upwards, to the intermediate deck under the steering wheel.

Walk to the left into the corner. There is a globe and for the globe there are 3 books on the floor

Zoom in on the books and then click on the right book and ...... This opens up and inside Kate finds a bottle of vodka. Grab the bottle of vodka.

Go back down and then descend further to the engine room. In the engine room, you move Kate back down the short stairs and then immediately down the next stairs to land in the lower areas of the engine room. Then walk all the way back to where a workbench is in the corner.

On the left part of the workbench there is an oil lamp, zoom in on the oil lamp. The oil lamp is divided into two parts on the workbench. The left part is the oil reservoir and the right part is the actual lamp. Pick up the lamp and ........ Kate screws the lamp onto the tank

Open the inventory and select the bottle of vodka and then click on 1 of the white dots at the bottom of the oil lamp and ..... Kate fills the reservoir with the vodka.

If you click on the wrong spot, you hear that, then click on the other point. Then select the matches in inventory and click on the lamp, Kate lights the lamp.

Take the now burning lamp and go back, via the stairs, up .....

Through the back door again the back deck and walk to the right railing and ........

....... see how Obo executes his plan to lure away the monster from the Krystal and how Obo itself disappears, with sloop and all, in the waves

Kate is shocked but she does not get much time to mourn about Obo's disappearance because a huge wave threatens to devour the Krystal ........

There is a huge blow and Kate loses consciousness and we end up in:
