Chapter
8: Baranour 1: Power for the amusement park
On
the deck of the Krystal Kate, with some help from the Youkols, comes to
consciousness againand she is then brought to Kurk who stands on the prow.
Talk
to Kurk and he says that the ship lost his course due to the severe weather. The
ship is stranded on the coast of Baranour Park and this turns out to be a large
amusement park, which is rather in decline and possibly deadly radioactive. Kate
must now first find out how the situation is regarding the radioactive
radiation.
Walk
slightly to the right ....... In front of the spotlight lamp destroyed by Kate
is a device, zoom in on it.
Zoom
in on the meter on top and listen to what Kate says, then zoom in on the middle.
You see a picture of a radiation glasses.
Underneath
is a cover, this can be opened but it is empty. No glasses, it would also be too
easy.
Zoom
1x out and turn to the left of the device, you will see a lever.
Zoom
in on the lever and below you see a disk with a keyhole, Kate says she has seen
such a slot before.
Go
to the bridge / wheelhouse and take the key of the Krystal out of the lock,
Go
back to the bow of the ship. Click again on the device and turn again to the
left side and zoom in again on the lever.
Select
the key in the inventory and click on the lock. If the key is in the lock you
have to turn the key and then you have to pull the handle to the right all the
way down.
You
then return to the front of the device. Zoom back in on the cover at the bottom
and pull it open again and ..... Now Kate finds a radiation glasses in the box,
so grab the glasses
Kate puts it on and looks at Baranour Park. Through the glasses Kate can now see
which area is contaminated with radioactivity.
Walk
to the deck and talk to Kurk for a while and then leave the ship via gangway to
the jetty.
When
you arrive at the jetty you see a few power cables hanging on a pole and in the
hull of the Krystal you see a socket. Go and see both.
There
is no power in the park. Zoom out and then walk to the right, to the hole in the
jetty. Via the two boards, Kate can descend to the beach, so do this.
Then
walk along the beach, first down and then continue to the right and ........
Kate will come to the wide staircase that goes up to the amusement park. Go
first to the house on stilts that is on the left
Climb
up the ladder and then walk across the veranda to the left. A telescopic hook
leans against the left side of the pole house .... grab the telescopic hook
Go
down the ladder back down to the beach and then walk back to the wide staircase.
Right next to the stairs you can see Automaton sitting on a bench.
View
the Automaton and ............ Kate think for a moment that it is Oscar, you
will get a movie. Kate wants to repair this Automaton.
Now
go up the wide staircase. Upstairs you see a large rusty gate, which is open a
bit. Go through the gate.
Kate
is now on the grounds of the amusement park. Then walk past the building and
turn right around the corner to a door.
Go
through the door and Kate will arrive in a workshop. Kate is at the door through
which she has arrived. You see a workbench with a box on it. Behind Kate is a
grab on a rail. Under the grab is a metal container. Zoom in on that metal
container ..... Thecontainer is full of rubbish ....... Put a few things aside
in the container until you can grab a gear ..... The gear is on the left in the
bucket . Then take the gear ....
Walk
back to the workbench against the wall, there is a box. Zoom in on the box and
then closer.
On
the box Kate sees the emblem of Voralberg, but the box is unfortunately locked.
Zoom out and then check out the poster of the railroad track of the park.
Turn
around and walk to the double door, left in the corner, and then go outside.
Walk
across the pier to the right. The pier then turns right but there is a tractor
on its side and the thing hides Kate the way ....... Zoom in on the tractor and
then click on the link and .....
The
tractor is pushed over the edge. Now walk to the right over the pier ..... Just
before the hole in the pier a usable tractor is on the rails.
Zoom
in on the tractor. There is a Automaton driver on the tractor but the driver
doesn’t work anymore. Zoom in on the rear of the tractor .......
Kate
looks at the towbar / cable of the tractor and she thinks she can use this
tractor to drag the Krystal further up the beach.
Kate then pulls the Automaton
driver off the tractor and that is on the pier.
Zoom
in on the Automaton and grab the small key from the hand of the Automaton.
View
the key in your inventory. You will see the emblem of Voralberg on the key. Walk
back to the double door and go inside. Then walk to the box on the workbench and
zoom in again
Then
select the small key and use it on the box. Turn the key to the right and the
box will open.
Take
a Voralberg10 wrench from the lid. By herself, Kate also grabs the large
Voralberg wrench. which is at the bottom of the box
Go
out through the narrow door and ............. Kate has a meeting with the shaman
and Kurk, talk to them.
Shaman
and Kurk take Kate to the official entrance to the amusement park and tell them
that the holy path that the Youkols must take is below it.
Kate says that there
is too much radiation to safely continue their way.
After
the movie you move Kate straight down .... On the left is the large Octopus
fountain ..... Walk in front of the Octopus fountain to the left. When Kate is
on the left side of the Octopus fountain you will see a door in the background.
That door is in the gate, to the left of the entrance / exit of the amusement
park .......
NB:
if you walked straight from the Shaman and Kurk to the left, to that door, you
will not receive the Exit cursor. Then walk down until Kate is left in front of
the Octopus fountain and then walk back to the door and you will get the exit
cursor on the door
Walk
to that door and you get the Exit cursor on it ..... so click on the door and
Kate goes through the door and she is in a corridor .....
Walk forward a bit and
we see that the hallway is blocked by debris.
Turn
around, walk back to the door and go back outside. Then walk down a bit further.
To the left of Kate you see a big bear. The bear is decapitated and sits with
his bottom on the floor. Move Kate between the Bear and the Door. To the right
of the bear you see a rocket ......
Walk
further between the Bear and the Rocket until Kate cannot go any further .....
You are standing next to a bench
and in front of the bench there is a metal bar on the floor. Take the metal bar.
There
is a hole in the fence but there is too much radiation, so here too we do not
get any further. Walk back to the Octopus fountain and then again along the
fountain to the right and then down to carousel. Follow that path along the
carousel and then up to the gate through which Kate has entered the amusement
park.
On
the right is a stair case. You can walk up there now but you cannot do anything
up there now because you first have to provide electricity in the park. Exit
through the gate to the outside and then walk back down the wide staircase and
then downstairs zoom in on the Automaton, which is located on the right of the
stairs on the bench.
Oscar's Heart
At
the top you see the serial number and that is the same as Oscar.
Zoom
in on the cross lock, then select wrench no. 10 and click on the cross lock. You
have to turn the key to the right, so clockwise
The
breastplate then loosens slightly, then pull the breastplate open further.
Then
click on the heart, this comes loose from the cables and disappears.
Now
select the heart of Oscar in your inventory and click on the place where it
should go.
You
see two heart valves, A and B, you have to open the lids and then put the 2
cables, C and D, into them. We do this in 4 steps. With pressed mouse button you
open the lids A and B and also with the mouse button you put the cables C and D
in A and B ........ The screenshots below show how to do this
When
you have put C in A and D in B you zoom in on the spherical lid .......
.......
Unfortunately the lid is fixed. Select the large Voralberg wrench and then click
on the nut.
You
must turn the wrench clockwise until the nut is removed
You
can then open the spherical cover,
......
unfortunately Kate now needs another key. A Voralberg activation key, and Kate
doesn’t have that key ........
Power for the Amusement Park
Now
first take care of electricity in the park. Walk across the beach back to the
pier and to the ship and then climb up the pier via the gangways.
On
the pier you zoom in again on power cables hanging on a pole .......
Then
select the telescopic hook and click on the cables at the top of the pole and
...........
........
Kate pulls the cables down and Youkol Bouruth asks if he can help. Ask him if he
wants to connect the cables.
But
it does not really matter what you say to Bouruth, because he will always
connect the cables into the large socket in the hull of the Krystal.
Go
aboard the Krystal ...... and .......
.....
Go down to the engine room and then walk past the controls of the icebreakers
further to the right, to the lever with which the Krystal motors are switched on
/ off.
Previously,
Kate has turned off the engines with this lever.
Now
click the lever up again to switch the engines back on and ........ the
amusement park gets power, the lights in the amusement park go on and all the
attractions become active ......
