Part 2

At the end of Hyaku Lake Part 1 you have jumped into a round basin of water (A) on top of the mountain and you have been transported to spot K on the drawing below.

The drawing is a simple map of the area where you are now going to solve a puzzle.

That round bowl of water that you have jumped into, was / is a Displacement Pond and you will encounter more of them. You are now in a large area and you are standing next to a pond. In the middle of the pond you'll see a rock . A Rune Sign floats above the rock. To the right of the pond you'll see a Miki letter. Go read that Miki letter, it's Miki letter 11.

To the right of the Miki letter stand a Hint Sphere scale, so go read the message.......It says something about colored animals.

Turn back to the Miki letter 11 ....... On the corner of the pond stands an blue push button, but the button is inactive at this moment ....... you'll need it later, but first you need to activate this button.  On the other side of the pond you see a chest, a hint sphere and 2 disc's.  On the left you see a big door on the other side of a pool.

Walk to the other side of the pond and read message of the Hint sphere and then open the chest ..... Take the Ram figurine that comes out of this chest.

You carry the Ram figurine with you. Turn to the right and go to the "Winter disc" and the "Day and Night disc",  but do not stand on either of it for now.

Behind these 2 discs a path goes up the hill and there is also a Miki letter.

Walk to the floating Miki letter. This is letter 12 ...... To be able to read the letter, you have to drop the Ram figurine so do not forget to pick it up again after reading the letter.

Pick up the Ram again and carry it with you while you go further up the path. You'll pass a chest and a Hint sphere but you're going to look at that in a few moments. Walk further to the platform of the building ....... Before the platform you see 6 light scales and 1 of these scales you have to place the Ram statue, but in which one? Before the 6 scales stands a blue push button. Place your Ram on the floor here again, but remember where you put it.

Without the ram, walk a little bit further, to the next Hint sphere and read the message ....... "monkeys like to be the first", says this message

Further on you'll find Miki letter 13...... so read it.  Walk back to the middle and look at the  facade of the building, it has 3 large mosaics. View those 3 mosaics on the building ....

You see the order of the animals on them. That order is:  monkey - tiger - boar - elephant - ram - crane.

The hint from the last hint sphere was "Monkeys want to be first". So ram is number 5. Walk back to the 6 scales. Number the scales, from left to right, as 1 to 6.

Pick up your Ram and take it to scale 5. Put the Ram on scale 5

You have to find the other 5 animals and put them also here on the scales.

Now walk back to the chest and the hint sphere. Read the message from the hint sphere and then open the chest. This chest gives you the Crane bird.

Take the Crane bird to the 6 scales and put it on scale 6. Four animals to go.

Go back to the Crane chest and the hint sphere and then follow the path back down. Go past Miki letter 12 to the 2 discs. Now go stand onto the "Winter disc" and it will be winter again. Turn around. Right behind the discs you see an island .... There are a few ice blocks floating in the water

Jump over the ice blocks to the small island and then continue across it and jump the next ice blocks to the land on the other site

You see a "Day and Night disc" and a staircase, go up the stairs.

Above the stairs you come to an open space with a Winter disc, a Miki letter, a Staircase, a Gong, a white Ball and 3 snow pillars that you have to slide.

Read Miki letter 14........ Then turn to the right and go to Hint sphere, read the message.

Turn around again and walk past the "Winter disc" to the stairs. Walk up the stairs, halfway up the stairs stands a pedestal.

Go further up and then look down. You see 3 pillars and 2 icicles. You also see 3 marked tiles, you have to push those pillars on the marked tiles.

If they are in place you can jump from here to the door on the other side.

Here is a drawing of the 3 pillars and the marked tiles, also the icicles are on there.

There is a simple solution for this puzzle.

Go back down the stairs and walk to column A.

Push column A to tile A 1, push column B to tile B 1 and then push column C via tile C 1 to the special tile.

The 3 columns A, B, C are then as shown here in this screenshot

Then go to the white sphere, take the sphere and throw it against the gong

The 2 icicles shatter and now you can slide the 3 columns on the special tiles ...

.....as you see on this screenshot

Now the 3 pillars have to sink a bit into the ground.

Go to the winter disk, get up there and the ice will become water and the columns will sink. A chest now appears on the pedestal, halfway up the stairs

Walk up the stairs to the chest. Open the chest and pick up the quarter piece.

Turn to the right and climb to the top of the stairs and jump the pillars to reach to the plateau with the door and the light scale

Place the quarter piece in the light beam, the door opens. Walk through the now opened door.

You see a chest an  a Hint sphere behind it. First read the message of the hint sphere and then open the chest and take out the elephant.

Then walk to the left on the path and you will come to another round displacement Pond.

Jump in the round water bowl and you will, via another displacement pond, land on the platform with the 6 scales (on the drawing this is spot L)

Walk on to the 6 scales...... Elephant is number 4 in the row so put the Elephant figurine on scale 4

In scale you now have the Elephant, in scale 5 the Ram and in scale 6 the Crane bird.

Now we go look for the animals for scales 1, 2 and 3. Leave the platform on the right side and go down the stairs and walk straight to displacement  pond B.

Jump in and you'll arrive on the next island, on disk M in the drawing.

Turn around and then walk into the forest, to the Miki letter 15 .... Read the letter.

Walk along the "Day and Night disc's to the Hint sphere, which gives a hint about the gong.

Walk back a bit and then enter the temple.

Inside the temple you'll see a "Winter disc", a white ball and a gong ..... The back gate has a "water curtain".

Walk through the "water curtain" gate to a push button behind it. Press the button and you will see that the outside wall dropped. You now also have an opening here.

Walk back through the "water curtain" gate and now you'll see a water arch above the front entrance of the temple.

NB: You may not see the water arch, but if you freeze everything with the winter disc, you will see the frozen water arch.

Turn to the right and go stand on the  "Winter disc" to freeze everything.

Now take the white ball, but don't through it at the gong ....... you first must make a detour and take the ball with you.

Carry the white ball with you and leave the temple through the front gate of the temple. When you are outside, turn left, walk to the stairs but do not go up just now.

Turn left before the stairs and carry the ball to the water. Ice blocks are floating in the water. Jump  the ice blocks to the entrance that you have just opened

Go in and walk up the stairs, past the push button. At the top of the stairs go left, straight ahead and then left and over the now frozen water arch to the other side.

You are now standing in front of an ice gate........Turn to the left and look down ...... You see the gong beneath you ..... now throw the white ball against the gong.

The sound waves of the gong weaken the ice wall in the gate and you can now walk through the icy wall .....

So turn around to the gate and walk straight through the now weakened ice wall ...... A blue push button ........

Press blue button and......You'll see the top part of the outside staircase rise, you no longer have to go over the water/ice arch to get below. There's also a chest here, but leave it for now because first we're going to collect the Rune sign. Because you have thrown the white ball against the gong, the ice has now become brittle. You must make hard ice again. You can jump down to the floor of the temple, or go  down the stairs to go in through the front gate. Inside the temple, go stand on the "Winter disc" again to thaw the ice. Step off the "Winter disc" but step right on it again to freeze everything again.....You have hard ice again.

Take the white ball again and go out through the front gate again  and turn left again. Go to the stairs and this time climb up to the blue button and the chest.

Back at the chest and the blue button look to the right and......... along the wall you see 3 frozen water bows, A, B, C

Jump across the ice bows A, B, C to the other side, to platform D.....

Landed on platform D turn left and.......... behind a frozen wall floats the Rune sign.   Look left .....Above the first gate is an opening ....

through the opening you see the gong ...... Here you have to throw the white ball against the gong.

NB: You only have a very small margin to hit the gong. If you miss the gong, jump down and pick up the white ball again and then come back here again with the ball, through the ice bows, and to try again ... There is no other way to hit the gong, so that the ice gate breaks and you can go grab the Rune Stone .......So just try until you hit the gong once ...You could skip this rune sign, but we do not know whether you can finish the game if you not collect all the rune signs, so skipping this rune is at your own risk

There is a, theoretical,  way to give yourself a little bit more space to hit the gong........Before you go up, first defrost everything by standing on the "Winter disc". Then take the white ball and throw it at the gong....the gong goes forward and backwards...Quick.....Step on the "Winter disc" to freeze everything again........Take the ball again and go outside and up the stairs.....Jump over the frozen bows to platform D and look down to the gong. If you were quick enough the gong still moves forward and backwards and you'll have a little better change to hit the gong

2020: Note 2 Louis: If you are unable to hit the chime with the ice ball through the opening in the gate, forget about the ice ball and try this with a flower bulb or a little stone. You can pick up a bulb or a fruit / flower or a stone from the floor of the temple. Then carry it via the outside stairs and the 3 ice arches to the opening in the fence, aim well and throw the stone / flower bulb at the gong and ....... big chance that this will work better than with the ice ball because the ice ball is a little to big to through  the fence

If you have successfully hit the gong then the ice wall before the rune sign breaks, so go score the rune sign

Jump down and return to the "Winter disc" and stand on it again,  to defrost everything again.....

You have to defrost everything now,  because otherwise you can’t leave this area...... the displacement transport pond, witch you now have to find to return to the 6 scales, was also frozen.

Walk out again and go back up the stairs to the blue button and the chest. Now click on the chest and take the Monkey statue, that's coming out of it

....... turn around and you'll see that there is now also a new suspension bridge available. Walk over the suspension bridge and follow the path, to reach displacement pond C.

jump in and you're back at disk L on the platform.  Again......walk to the 6 scales and place the Monkey on scale 1

Go right again and down the stairs again and again jump into the pond B......

You will return to the island of the monkey ............Now walk to the left of the "Day and Night disc"  There you'll find displacement pond D, jump in it and you go to the next place.
